Health Reform's Savings Myth

"Health-care reform is entitlement reform" has become a mantra of the Obama administration. The idea is that Congress can add a massive health-care program this year -- covering the uninsured -- and use the same measures that pay for the health reform to fix the broader budget problems. If that sounds too good to be true, there's a reason.

AIDS / HIV / pharmaceutical industry fraud scandal unraveling day by day

Several critical updates on the unraveling of the AIDS / HIV industry scandal are presented by investigator/researcher Clark Baker:
After a group of international scientists demanded the retraction of Robert Gallo’s unproven reports (1, 2, 3, 4) on HIV and AIDS last December, it appears that the editors of Science are as timid as they were when they accepted Dr. Gallo’s reports without the customary requisite peer review and proof of concept.

As harmless as Science’s charity to Dr. Gallo may seem, his unproven opinions have since become the basis for all of AIDS policy in the US and around the world at a cost that approaches $1 trillion in US taxpayer dollars since 1981. The fact that Dr. Gallo’s Institute of Human Virology still receives millions of research dollars annually despite having been found guilty of scientific misconduct in 1992 is equally troubling. But like Bernie Madoff’s pyramid scheme, Gallo’s initial fraud gave birth to a trillion dollar fraud scheme that is now simply too big to fail – and in light of this explosive new film that exposes the confusion between the scientific mullahs that oversee AIDS theology, it appears that the rats are beginning to leave Gallo’s sinking ship.
Robert Gallo Feels The Heat
The New York Post reports that investigative reporter Celia Farber has filed suit this week against Atlanta physician James Murtagh MD, former medical student Kevin Kuritzky, and Richard Jefferys for libel and defamation:

Farber's lawyers filed a 21-page libel complaint this week in Manhattan Supreme Court accusing Richard Jefferys, of the Treatment Action Group, of orchestrating a campaign against her last May when she was given the Semmelweis Clean Hands Award for Outstanding Investigative Journalism for an article she wrote in Harper's in 2006, "AIDS and the Corruption of Medical Science."

The Harpers article gave credence to the work of Peter Duesberg, who believes HIV is a harmless "passenger" virus and not the cause of AIDS, and questioned the value of expensive antiretroviral drugs. Jefferys and his team blitzed the Semmelweis Society with e-mails claiming Farber had altered quotes and falsely misrepresented scientific papers.

The Semmelweis Society, in turn, launched its own investigation and concluded the AIDS industry itself has all the characteristics of a multibillion-dollar criminal enterprise that desperately needed whistleblowers.
Investigative Reporter Files Lawsuit
...when the physicians and nurses at Semmelweis Society International (SSI) asked me to investigate allegations that UC Professor Peter Duesberg had killed millions in Africa, I expected to complete my task within days. With almost thirty years of investigative experience, I figured that a few Google searches would resolve the questions, one way or the other.

Little did I know that the allegations issued by James Murtagh MD, Kevin Kuritzky, and Richard Jefferys would consume thousands of hours of my time or expose me to the ugly underbelly of the pharmaceutical industry and its chicken-ranch relationship with America’s most prestigious universities.

While the evidence I discovered now suggests that millions may have been poisoned and murdered, I’ve found that Dr. Duesberg more closely resembles Moshe the Beadle than his pharmaceutically-funded accusers – who now appear to have far more in common with Phillip Morris than Louis Pasteur.

Since the release of my preliminary report (PDF) in July 2008, filmmaker Brent Leung completed his documentary and investigative reporter Celia Farber, who was also targeted, has filed suit against her accusers in the New York Supreme Court.

Has Sustiva Solved an HIV Mystery?
As I begin the second year of my investigation into the AIDS scam, I am still amazed by each day’s revelations. Unlike the predators I’ve driven from the street, Robert Gallo and his goons at the Institute of Human Virology (IHV) are now behaving as if they want to get caught. After decades of acquiescent oversight, NIAID Director Tony Fauci looks more like Tony Soprano than a medical doctor.

Last week I reported that the HIV drug Sustiva is not only being smoked like crack cocaine by thousands, but that abstinence from the drug compromises immune function in the same way that clinicians associate with AIDS. Marketed as a “non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor,” Bristol-Myers Squibb provides no warning of the drug’s highly addictive hypnotic properties or it’s terrifying and potentially deadly affects of withdrawal.

Dealergate: The REAL truth

Addendum: We almost overlooked one of the most incredible chapters in the story so far. Almost a month ago, even before the closing Chrysler dealers got their notices, the company said that it was looking for new dealers to replace its “underperforming” dealers in small markets. Underperforming, like the many Five Star dealers (previously touted by Chrysler as its very best agencies) that are being closed. Before the pinks slips were even printed. You can’t make this stuff up...

U.S. to Respond to North Korea with
‘Strongest Possible Adjectives'

Obama: We are Prepared to Consult Thesaurus

One day after North Korea launched a successful test of a nuclear weapon, President Obama said that the United States was prepared to respond to the threat with "the strongest possible adjectives."

In remarks to reporters at the White House, Mr. Obama said that North Korea should fear the "full force and might of the United States' arsenal of adjectives" and called the missile test "reckless, reprehensible, objectionable, senseless, egregious and condemnable."

Standing at the President's side, Vice President Joseph Biden weighed in with some tough adjectives of his own, branding North Korean President Kim Jong-Il "totally wack and illin'."

Later in the day, Defense Secretary Robert Gates called the North Korean nuclear test "supercilious and jejune," leading some in diplomatic circles to worry that the U.S. might be running out of appropriate adjectives with which to craft its response.

But President Obama attempted to calm those fears, saying that the United States was prepared to "scour the thesaurus" to come up with additional adjectives and was "prepared to use adverbs" if necessary.

"Let's be clear: we are not taking adverbs off the table," Mr. Obama said. "If the need arises, we will use them forcefully, aggressively, swiftly, overwhelmingly and commandingly."

JUICY: " Monday we will reveal the 'secret life of Sonia Sotomayor.' "

Press Release Friday, May 29, 2009: "First, it will probably come as a surprise to both my supporters and detractors to learn I have been an urban educator, and actually taught college courses in the Bronx, at BCC. I became deeply steeped in New York's Puerto Rican culture, which I greatly admire.

"Second, last October Barack Obama panicked and sent his hapless mouthpiece Robert Gibbs out to smear me on 'Hannity & Colmes.' Gibbs tried to dredge up lies from a 25 year-old lawsuit involving Sotomayor's 'mentor.' Gibbs' smears and the lapdog New York Times' front-page echoing of those outrageous attacks on my integrity are about to bite them in Gibbs' amble buttocks; they had no idea in October they would have to regurgitate their words in June.

"That old lawsuit involved Joe 'Crazy Joey' or 'Cocaine Cabranes,' a cocaine-addled federal judge who went ballistic when I exposed he was using his personal divorce lawyer in cases appearing before him as a judge. 'Crazy Joey' tried to destroy me, and used his friends in the Court of Appeals to demonize me, to protect a bankruptcy fraud ring in New Haven federal courts involving the law firms of Irving Perlmutter, Richard Belford and Coan Lewendon & Royston. He even recruited Rudy Giuliani, who plays a cameo role in this theater of the absurd. We have the FBI records to document these outrages.

"As a result of my battles with the arrogant and corrupt judges of the Second Circuit, including the real anti-Semite Irving Kaufman, I became the 'undertaker' for Supreme Court nominations from the Second Circuit, and derailed both Cabranes' and Judge Jon R. Newman's nominations to the Supreme Court during the Clinton administration.

"Newman and 'Cocaine Cabranes' have continued to use their public offices to retaliate because of their personal grievances against me. So I know Sotomayor's 'mentor' and that creepy court as no one else does.

"My column Monday, however, does not deal with the past. It deals with Sotomayor's present. I bear her no personal ill will but her life has been a lie, and she should start telling the truth about whom she really is.

Stay tuned for Monday's BOMBSHELL!!!

Younger readers probably won't get the irony...

I grew up with "duck and cover." That meant all us little kids in elementary school were told to dive underneath our desks (in order to protect ourselves from a nuclear bomb that, presumably, would have been set off by Russia).

Now, the evil newsrag (PRAVDA) that we all despised (when we got old enough to know what a corrupt media was--think: 21st century for a current example) is laying it on the line like no self-deluded liberal ever could:
It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.

Obama beats up friends and cowers before enemies

Obama administration has basically responded to North Korea's missile and nuclear tests by getting tough with .... Israel ... to the delight of North Korea's nuclear-arming ally, Iran, which assists and helps to finance North Korea's nuclear/missile programs while vowing to incinerate Israel (ahead of wiping out America). President Obama's obsession with pressuring Israel to withdraw to indefensible borders seems to become more pronounced as the North Korean/Iranian threat grows more menacing.

Obama justice department lets Black Panthers off the hook for election day threats to voters

Blogs like Atlas that shone the light on the ugly underbelly of Obama's campaign of racebaiting and Jew hating got the Obama campaign to take the Panther Obama page down. Further still the Black Panthers were threatening voters at polling places on election day...

Now Pamela Geller reports that:
Charges brought against three members of the New Black Panther Party for Self-Defense under the Bush administration have been dropped by the Obama Justice Department, FOX News has learned.

The charges stemmed from an incident at a Philadelphia polling place on Election Day 2008 when three members of the party were accused of trying to threaten voters and block poll and campaign workers by the threat of force -- one even brandishing what prosecutors call a deadly weapon.
Anyone really surprised?

Why Obama's pick for the Supreme Court (Sonia Sotomayor) scares both conservatives AND liberals!

Walter Shapiro writing at Politics Daily provides two insights to Obama's Supreme Court nominee that I haven't heard mentioned so far:
While her true inspiration is Nancy Drew, Sotomayor has also revealed that she first became intrigued with being a judge as a child by watching Perry Mason on television.
Wow...now I'm convinced she's right for the Supreme Court of the United States of America...uh huh...
White House fact-sheet pointedly omitted reference to a 2002 case (Center for Reproductive Law & Policy v. Bush). Sotomayor rejected a public interest group's challenge to the Bush policy of banning federally funded non-governmental organizations that work abroad from mentioning or counseling for abortion. This is the Sotomayor decision that leaves liberal abortion rights groups (a normally loyal Obama constituency) nervous.
Meanwhile, Jeffrey Rosen, Legal Affairs Editor at The New Republic presents The Case Against Sotomayor
Over the past few weeks, I've been talking to a range of people who have worked with her, nearly all of them former law clerks for other judges on the Second Circuit or former federal prosecutors in New York. Most are Democrats and all of them want President Obama to appoint a judicial star of the highest intellectual caliber who has the potential to change the direction of the court. Nearly all of them acknowledged that Sotomayor is a presumptive front-runner, but nearly none of them raved about her. They expressed questions about her temperament, her judicial craftsmanship, and most of all, her ability to provide an intellectual counterweight to the conservative justices, as well as a clear liberal alternative.
A summary of the specifics:
  • The most consistent concern was that Sotomayor, although an able lawyer, was "not that smart and kind of a bully on the bench," as one former Second Circuit clerk for another judge put it
  • Her opinions, although competent, are viewed by former prosecutors as not especially clean or tight, and sometimes miss the forest for the trees.
  • Some former clerks and prosecutors expressed concerns about her command of technical legal details
More later:
This is the first in a series of reports by TNR legal affairs editor Jeffrey Rosen about the strengths and weaknesses of the leading candidates on Barack Obama's Supreme Court shortlist.
And, finally: "A wise Latina woman with the richness of her experience would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life," Sotomayor said...

How American Health Care Stacks Up

INVESTORS BUSINESS DAILY

South Park...explains Obama (thank God somebody did!)

Sometimes it takes "South Park" to explain life's deeper mysteries. Like the logic of the Obama administration's policy proposals.

Firearms: A vet provides a little history lesson for the rest of us

VET: Well, the unofficial name for the AR, or "Automatic Rifle," introduced at the tail of WWI, and used extensively in WWII and Korea, was "Browning Automatic Rifle." It was designed by John Browning of Ogden, Utah, the son of Mr. Browning Sr., and his second wife (they were Mormons.) John the junior was the most prolific firearms designer of all time, designing, light, medium, and heavy machine guns, shotguns, handguns, repeater rifles and carbines, and automatic rifles, of course.

The "Army .45," (semi-automatic pistol) which was the standard military sidearm in US forces from the year of Reagan's birth, and often called the "1911," for the year of it's adoption, was a Browning design. It was superseded by the Beretta, in 9mm, in 1985, in order to have a pistol that used NATO standard ammo. (By that time, all .45's in government inventory were at least 40 years old.) The "tunnel rats" in Viet Nam used to go into Viet Cong tunnels, with their 1911 Colts (Colt had the original contract to build the Browning design.) Just a handgun, against Victor Charlie. It was famed as a 'man-stopper.' (Thank goodness for the tunnel rats.)

Some of the most popular shotguns produced by Remington and Winchester were designed by John. The most popular deer rifle ever (Winchester 1894)-ditto. The more powerful Winchester '95 was designed by him, also; and, it was carried by Teddy Roosevelt with the Rough Riders, who charged up San Juan Hill, Cuba, in the Spanish-American war, 1898. (He eschewed the less effective Krag-Jurgenson rifle of standard army issue.)

So, in WWII, "our boys" carried the .45 pistol, designed by Browning, generals carried the Colt 1908 pistol, designed by him, select infantry carried the BAR, as the light machine gun, or 'SAW' as they call it today. (The SAW is the Squad Automatic Weapon.)

Infantry automatic weapons teams used the Browning medium machine gun, water cooled, or air cooled versions. Airplanes sometimes carried them; but, most of our fighter planes, and bombers as well, carried a brace of Browning .50 caliber machine guns, designated "M-2," and known to troops today as the "Ma Deuce." It is still performing in the new millennium in Iraq and Afghanistan. The .50 cal. ammunition is also used in the current heavy sniper rifle, built by Barrett.

In World War II, and Korea, our fighter planes often carried 6 Browning .50 ca. machine guns. Bombers such as the B-17 carried 10 to 12, depending on version. B-29's carried a dozen.

Today, 90% of semi-automatic pistols made use the principles developed by Browning, at the turn of the century (1900.) Clones, with some modifications, of his 1911 design for the military, are produced by a couple of dozen firms. And special operations units use somewhat modified versions of his 1911 design-yet. So do SWAT teams.

So, except fro the M-1 Garand, semi-automatic rifle (a wonderful piece at the time) the M-1 carbine, and the Tommy gun, Browning designed all of the firearms we used in World War II and Korea. And many civilian arms, long, short, and smoothbore, produced by Colt, Remington, and Fabrique Nationale d'Armes de Guerre, of Aquitania. (Commonly known as "FN.") Browning's last design was the Browning Hi-Power pistol, which was used since 1935 to date by many of our allies, including Canada, Australia, in Britain to an extent, and many others I cannot remember. It, too, is still in production, as are many knock-offs, or clones, from many nations.

Until a few years ago, the standard Soviet sidearm was officially known as the Tokarev, named for its designer. It had some improvements on Browning design, although it was much less effective (puny cartridge.) Among Russian citizens, however, it was known as a "Browning." What a tribute!

So, you see, if Mormons had been limited to one wife, before John was born, we might have been fighting WWII and Korea with vastly inferior weapons. We will never know; but, sometimes it is better to just let people do whatever they do best...a sound conservative principle.

Ma Deuce knows.

P.S. Although a 1918 design, done in a jiffy, the BAR was more powerful than most light machine guns, although it did not have great firepower. (Only a 20 round box magazine.) But, it did not need a crew, except to help carry ammo. It was popular with our troops in WW II. My late uncle, who was a musician, composer, and accountant, carried one in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, and Germany, in the big one. Later, he settled in Reseda, Cah-lee-FWAR-nya.

NON-VET: A Ma Deuce was the gun that Audie Murphy used to fight back the approaching German Infantry on the burning Tank Destroyer. Supposedly it's reasonable accurate up to a mile and the bullets can travel up to four miles.

My only experience with a BAR-1918 is in a number of video games. It always seems like you run out of ammunition faster. I prefer the SturmGewehr-44 over the BAR or the Thompson. The MP-40 isn't half bad either. But of course that is based on some programmers interpretation of what they are like to fire.

VET: Sure, the Sturmgewehr had a firepower advantage, as its larger magazine capacity enabled a higher effective rate of fire, compared to the BAR:

Muzzle velocity 2,247 ft/s
Rate of fire (Cyclic) 500-600 rounds/min
Feed system 30-round detachable box magazine

Muzzle velocity 2,800 ft/s
Rate of fire (Cyclic) 600 rounds/min (Depending on model)
Feed system 20-round detachable box magazine

So, you must be more judicious in firing he BAR; but, when you do fire, your range and penetration outclass the Sturmgewehr. Of course, in fairness, the purposes of each were not identical. But, against light armor, the Sturmgewehr takes second place.

The Sturmgewehr is usually considered to be the first "assault weapon."

I, of course, disagree. The BAR was the first successful "assault weapon." You just could not run very fast with an 18 pound automatic rifle. The only difference between the BAR and modern assault rifles was that the BAR fired full power .30-06 ammunition. So, its long range capabilities are now considered frequently irrelevant, and might produce a weapon difficult to control in automatic fire. But, the control issue was addressed, inadvertently perhaps, by the large configuration of the weapon, including a receiver machined out of a large billet of solid steel. Thus, the control characteristics were enhanced be the weight of the weapon.

The BAR was designed in WWI, when standard infantry rifles of most nations were .30 caliber, five shot repeaters, loaded using stripper clips. A 20 round box magazine was 2.5 quantum leaps ahead of everything else on the battlefield. The German Sturmgewehr was developed in the 1940's, over a quarter century later.

To put that into perspective, note that WWII, often considered to last from 1939 to 1945, began with 500 pound blockbusters, and ended with atomic bombs. Infantry rifles went from bolt action repeaters, to semi-automatic and selective fire weapons, from stripper clips to box magazines.

Aircraft went from partially fabric covered surfaces over frames, to stressed skin frameless designs, starting with the DC-3, or C-47, as the army Air Corps called it. Engines went from radial piston engines, to V-12's with turbochargers and fuel injection, to jets. Aircraft went from open bay gunners, to remote control firing from pressurized cabins, as in the B-29.

Six years is a century, during wartime. So, in my view, the Sturmgewehr was significantly innovative, using newer metal fabrication techniques; but, it was a natural development of the BAR, lighter, and with less muzzle velocity, so as to be more easily mastered.

Everything from America is bigger and better. Of course, Obama will cure
that.

China Confindential: consistently out-reported mainstream media on twin threats to world peace--nuclear-arming North Korea & nuclear-armed Iran

China Confidential is the only media outlet to have accurately predicted both North Korean nuclear tests, including predicting the exact test dates. Using open source intelligence and an international network of volunteer stringers and analysts, China Confidential has consistently out-reported the mainstream media on the twin threats to world peace--nuclear-arming North Korea and nuclear-armed Iran.

POSTSCRIPT: Israeli defense experts are increasingly concerned about a possible EMP attack on the Jewish State. A knockout blow to electronic and communication systems could paralyze the country and allow for an all-out assault by Hezbollah, Hamas, and Syria with coordinated uprisings by radicalized Israeli Arabs. In such a scenario, Iran could be responsible for the sneak attack--delivered by a foreign-flagged vessel--that could theoretically pave the way for the conquest of Israel while affording Iran a measure of plausible deniability.
Could Iran Outsource an A-Bomb Test to N. Korea?

Does it seem odd that the list of closed dealerships appears to have contributed a grand total of $200 to Barack Obama and millions to GOP candidates?

Mmmm...the Carbon Emission Diet!

GIVE up lamb roasts and save the planet. Government advisers are developing menus to combat climate change by cutting out “high carbon” food such as meat from sheep, whose burping poses a serious threat to the environment.

Out will go kebabs, greenhouse tomatoes and alcohol. Instead, diners will be encouraged to consume more potatoes and seasonal vegetables, as well as pork and chicken, which generate fewer carbon emissions.

“Changing our lifestyles, including our diets, is going to be one of the crucial elements in cutting carbon emissions,” said David Kennedy, chief executive of the Committee on Climate Change.

Kennedy has stopped eating his favourite doner kebabs because they contain lamb.

Speaking trugh to power

Just so we have our terms straight:
The phrase "speaking truth to power" goes back to 1955, when the American Friends Service Committee published Speak Truth to Power, a pamphlet ii at proposed a new approach to the Cold War. Its title, which came to Friend Milton Mayer toward the end of the week in summer 1954 when the composing committee finished work on the document, has become almost a cliche; it has become common far beyond Quaker circles, often used by people who have no idea of its origins. (One current example: Anita Hill entitled her memoir of her sensational charges of sexual harassment against Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas, Speaking Truth to Power.)

To speak truth to power sounds so much like an integral part of Quakerism that some modem Friends have simply assumed the phrase goes back to the seventeenth century rather than arriving late in the middle of ours. It reflects what many contemporary Friends would like to believe is the characteristic Quaker stance toward political authority, hallowed in practice if not the exact words. Yet in its origins it was a political statement, entitling an explicitly political document.
I would think that the following (by the brilliant Mark Steyn) is "speaking truth to power":
The stimulus will do nothing for the economy, but it will dramatically advance the cause of statism (as Mark Levin rightly calls it). Last week's vote in California is a snapshot of where this leads: The gangster regime in Sacramento is an alliance between a corrupt and/or craven political class wholly owned by a public sector union-bureaucracy extortion racket. So what if the formerly Golden State goes belly-up? They'll pass the buck to Washington, and those of us in nonprofligate jurisdictions will get stuck with the tab. At some point, the dwindling band of citizens still foolish enough to earn a living by making things, selling things or providing services other than government-funded program coordination will have to vote against not just taxes but specific agencies and programs – hundreds and thousands of them.

The bad news is that our children will not enjoy the American Dream. The good news is they'll be able to apply for an American Dream Readiness Assistance Coordination Grantwriter Program. May the Funds be with you!
Perhaps I am wrong...but it is--no matter what else--a message that will be delivered, in truth, one way or another in the not-so-distant future.

Take two minutes...and listen to this

On November 11, 1999 Terry Kelly was in a Shoppers Drug Mart store in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. At 10:55 AM an announcement came over the store's PA asking customers who would still be on the premises at 11:00 AM to give two minutes of silence in respect to the veterans who have sacrificed so much for us.

Terry was impressed with the store's leadership role in adopting the Legion's "two minutes of silence" initiative. He felt that the store's contribution of educating the public to the importance of remembering was commendable.

When eleven o'clock arrived on that day, an announcement was again made asking for the "two minutes of silence" to commence. All customers, with the exception of a man who was accompanied by his young child, showed their respect.

Terry's anger towards the father for trying to engage the store's clerk in conversation and for setting a bad example for his child was later channeled into a beautiful piece of work called, "A Pittance of Time". Terry later recorded "A Pittance of Time" and included it on his full-length music CD, "The Power of the Dream".

VETERANS--not preachers, reporters, poets, campus organizers, lawyers, or politicians--buy our freedom with their blood

Let us not forget:

It is the VETERAN, not the preacher, who has given us freedom of religion.

It is the VETERAN, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the VETERAN, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the VETERAN, not the campus organizer, who has given us freedom to assemble, so illegal immigrants can wave their Mexican flags and demand rights they don't even have.

It is the VETERAN, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the VETERAN, not the politician, who has given us the right to vote.

It is the VETERAN, who salutes the Flag;

It is the VETERAN, who serves under the Flag,

And, it's the VETERAN who is buried under the flag.

An Easily Understandable Explanation of Derivative Markets

Heidi is the proprietor of a bar in Detroit. She realizes that virtually all of her customers are unemployed alcoholics and, as such, can no longer afford to patronize her bar. To solve this problem, she comes up with new marketing plan that allows her customers to drink now, but pay later.

She keeps track of the drinks consumed on a ledger (thereby granting the customers loans).

Word gets around about Heidi's "drink now, pay later" marketing strategy and, as a result, increasing numbers of customers flood into Heidi's bar. Soon she has the largest sales volume for any bar in Detroit.

By providing her customers' freedom from immediate payment demands, Heidi gets no resistance when, at regular intervals, she substantially increases her prices for wine and beer, the most consumed beverages. Consequently, Heidi's gross sales volume increases massively.

A young and dynamic vice-president at the local bank recognizes that these customer debts constitute valuable future assets and increases Heidi's borrowing limit. He sees no reason for any undue concern, since he has the debts of the unemployed alcoholics
as collateral.

At the bank's corporate headquarters, expert traders transform these customer loans into DRINKBONDS, ALKIBONDS and PUKEBONDS. These securities are then bundled and traded on international security markets. Naive investors don't really understand that the securities being sold to them as AAA secured bonds are really the debts of unemployed alcoholics.

Nevertheless, the bond prices continuously climb, and the securities soon become the hottest-selling items for some of the nation's leading brokerage houses.

One day, even though the bond prices are still climbing, a risk manager at the original local bank decides that the time has come to demand payment on the debts incurred by the drinkers at Heidi's bar. He so informs Heidi.

Heidi then demands payment from her alcoholic patrons, but being unemployed alcoholics they cannot pay back their drinking debts. Since, Heidi cannot fulfill her loan obligations she is forced into bankruptcy. The bar closes and the eleven employees lose their jobs.

Overnight, DRINKBONDS, ALKIBONDS and PUKEBONDS drop in price by 90%. The collapsed bond asset value destroys the banks liquidity and prevents it from issuing new loans, thus freezing credit and economic activity in the community.

The suppliers of Heidi's bar had granted her generous payment extensions and had invested their firms' pension funds in the various BOND securities. They find they are now faced with having to write off her bad debt and with losing over 90% of the presumed value of the bonds. Her wine supplier also claims bankruptcy, closing the doors on a family business that had endured for three generations, her beer supplier is taken over by a competitor, who immediately closes the local plant and lays off 150 workers.

Fortunately though, the bank, the brokerage houses and their respective executives are saved and bailed out by a multi-billion dollar no-strings attached cash infusion from the Government. The funds required for this bailout are obtained by new taxes levied on employed, middle-class, non-drinkers.

Now, do you understand?

The EIT and Guantánamo Bay debate is over. Its demise began on the president's second day in office when he announced the closure of Guantánamo Bay without any plan to replace it. The figurative nails were driven in this policy coffin when President Obama released the EIT memos and Americans instinctively saw that act as reckless and not in the country's national security interests, a point Cheney has been making for weeks.

Black Hole Media: Free Markets "Out Of Fashion"

UPDATE: I fixed the bad link below--sorry!

Would you have a personal computer without free markets?

REVOLUTION

With the election of Barack Obama as president, the liberals have launched a massive, two-front offensive they believe will end in victory. They have judged that our public education system is so degraded that only a few Americans are left who even understand what a democracy is, and how the free market actually works. They are convinced that the majority of Americans are too frightened by the current recession to care about preserving the principles that made us the most powerful, productive and innovative country the world has ever known. In short, the liberals are reaching for victory because they believe that history now is on their side.

The speed of their offensive is breathtaking.

We wish these folks luck "working together" with the Obama auto-design team. One thing seems certain by 2016: Taxpayers will be paying Detroit to make the cars Americans don't want, and then they will pay again either through (trust us) a gas tax or with a purchase subsidy. Even the French must think we're nuts.

How do we think we can get every single sitting member of Congress to read this?

NOT YOURS TO GIVE

From the Life of Colonel David Crockett
Member of the U.S. Congress 1827-31 & 1832-35
Complied from The Life of Colonel David Crockett
by Edward S. Ellis (Philadelphia: Porter & Coates, 1884)

One day in the House of Representatives, a bill was taken up appropriating money for the benefit of a widow of a distinguished naval officer. Several beautiful speeches had been made in its support. The Speaker was just about to put the question when Crockett arose:

"Mr. Speaker - I have as much respect for the memory of the deceased, and as much sympathy for the sufferings of the living, if suffering there be, as any man in this House, but we must not permit our respect for the dead or our sympathy for a part of the living to lead us into an act of injustice to the balance of the living.

I will not go into an argument to prove that Congress has no power to appropriate this money as an act of charity. Every member on this floor knows it. We have the right, as individuals, to give away as much of our own money as we please in charity; but as members of Congress we have no right to appropriate a dollar of the public money.

Some eloquent appeals have been made to us upon the ground that it is a debt due the deceased. Mr. Speaker, the deceased lived long after the close of the war; he was in office to the day of his death, and I have never heard that the government was in arrears to him.

Every man in this House knows it is not a debt. We cannot, without the grossest corruption, appropriate this money as payment of a debt. We have not the semblance of authority to appropriate it as charity. Mr. Speaker, I have said we have the right to give as much money of our own as we please. I am the poorest man on this floor. I cannot vote for this bill, but I will give one week's pay to the object, and, if every member of Congress will do the same, it will amount to more than the bill asks.

He took his seat. Nobody replied. The bill was put upon its passage, and, instead of passing unanimously, as was generally supposed, and as, no doubt it would but for that speech, it received but few votes and of course, was lost.

Later when asked by a friend why he had opposed the appropriation, Crockett gave this explanation:

"Several years ago I was one evening standing on the steps of the Capitol with some other members of Congress when our attention was attracted by a great light over in Georgetown. It was evidently a large fire. We jumped into a hack and drove over as fast we could. In spite of all that could be done, many houses were burned and many families made houseless, and besides, some of them had lost all but the clothes they had on. The weather was very cold, and when I saw so many women and children suffering, I felt that something ought to be done for them. The next morning a bill was introduced appropriating $20,000 for their relief. We put aside all other business and rushed it through as soon as it could be done.

The next summer, when it began to be time to think about the election, I concluded I would take a scout around among the boys of my district. I had no opposition there, but, as the election was some time off, I did not know what might turn up. When riding one day in part of my district in which I was more of a stranger than any other, I saw a man in a field plowing and coming toward the road. I gauged my gait so that I should meet as he came to the fence. As he came up, I spoke to the man. He replied politely, but as I thought, rather coldly.

I began, 'Well, friend, I am one of those unfortunate beings called candidates, and?'

'Yes, I know you; you are Colonel Crockett, I have seen you once before and voted for you the last time you were elected. I suppose you are out electioneering right now, but you had better not waste your time or mine. I shall not vote for you again.'

That remark was a sockdolager, so I begged him to tell me what was the matter.

'Well, Colonel, it is hardly worth while to waste time or words upon it. I do not see how it can be mended, but you gave a vote last winter which shows that either you have not capacity to understand the Constitution, or that you are wanting in the honesty and firmness to be guided by it. In either case you are not the man to represent me. But I beg your pardon for expressing it in that way. I did not intend to avail myself of the privilege of the constituent to speak plainly to a candidate for the purpose of insulting or wounding you.

I intend by it only to say that your understanding of the Constitution is very different from mine; and I will say to you what, but for my rudeness, I should not have said that I believe you to be honest. But an understanding of the Constitution different from mine I cannot overlook because the Constitution, to be worth anything, must be held sacred and rigidly observed in all its provisions. The man who wields power and misinterprets it, is the more dangerous the more honest he is.'

'I admit the truth of all you say, but there must be some mistake about it, for I do not remember that I gave any vote last winter upon any constitutional questions.'

'No, Colonel, there is no mistake. Though I live here in the backwoods and seldom go from home, I take the papers from Washington and read very carefully all the proceedings in Congress. My papers say that last winter you voted for a bill to appropriate $20,000 to some sufferers by a fire in Georgetown. Is that true?'

'Well, my friend, I may as well own up. You have got me there. But certainly nobody will complain that a great and rich country like ours should give the insignificant amount of $20,000 to relive its suffering women and children, particularly with a full and overflowing Treasury, and I am sure, if you had been there, you would have done just as I did.'

'It is not the amount, Colonel, that I complain of, it is the principle. In the first place, the government ought to have in the Treasury no more than enough for its legitimate purposes. But that has nothing to do with the question. The power of collecting and disbursing money at pleasure is the most dangerous power that can be intrusted to man, particularly under our system of collecting revenue by a tariff, which reaches every man in the country, no matter how poor he may be and the poorer he is, the more he pays in proportion to his means.

What is worse, it presses upon him without his knowledge where the weight centers, for there is not a man in the United States who can ever guess how much he pays to the government. So you see, that while you are contributing to relieve one, you are drawing it from thousands who are even worse off than he. If you had the right to give anything, the amount was simply a matter of discretion with you, and you had as much right to give $20,000,000 as $20,000.

If you had the right to give to one, you have the right to give to all and as the Constitution neither defines charity nor stipulates the amount, you are at liberty to give to any and everything which you may believe, or profess to believe, is a charity, and to any amount you may think proper. You will very easily perceive what a wide door this would open for fraud and corruption and favoritism on the one hand, and for robbing the people on the other. No, Colonel, Congress has no right to give charity.

Individual members may give as much of their own money as they please, but they have no right to touch a dollar of the public money for that purpose. If twice as many houses had been burned in this country as in Georgetown, neither you nor any other member of Congress would have thought to appropriating a dollar for our relief. There are about two hundred and forty members of Congress. If they had shown their sympathy for the sufferers by contributing each one week's pay, it would have made over $13,000. There are plenty of men in and around Washington who could have given $20,000 without depriving themselves of even a luxury of life.

The Congressmen chose to keep their own money, which, if reports to be true, some of them spend not very credibly; and the people about Washington, no doubt, applauded you for relieving them from the necessity of giving by giving what was not yours to give. The people have delegated to Congress, by the Constitution, the power to do certain things. To do these, it is authorized to collect and pay moneys, and for nothing else. Everything beyond this is usurpation and a violation of the Constitution.

So you see, Colonel, you have violated the Constitution in what I consider a vital point. It is a precedent fraught with danger for the country, for when Congress once begins to stretch its power beyond the limits of the Constitution, there is no limit to it and no security for the people. I have no doubt you acted honestly, but that does not make it any better, except as far as you are personally concerned and you see that I cannot vote for you.'

'I tell you I felt streaked. I saw if I should have opposition, and this man should go talking, he would set others to talking and in that district I was a gone fawn-skin. I could not answer him and the fact is, I was so fully convinced that he was right, I did not want to. But I must satisfy him and I said to him:

Well, my friend, you hit the nail upon the head when you said I had not sense enough to understand the Constitution. I intended to be guided by it and thought I had studied it fully. I have head many speeches in Congress about the powers of Congress, but what you have said here at your plow has got more hard, sound sense in it than all the fine speeches I ever heard. If I had ever taken the view of it that you have, I would have put my head into the fire before I would have given that vote; and if you will forgive me and vote for me again, if I ever vote for another unconstitutional law, I wish I may be shot.'

He haughtingly replied: 'Yes, Colonel, you have sworn to that once before, but I will trust you again upon one condition. You say that you are convinced that your vote was wrong. Your acknowledgment of it will do more good than beating you for it. If, as you go around the district, you will tell people about this vote and that you are satisfied it was wrong, I will not only vote for you, but will do what I can to keep down opposition, and perhaps, I may exert some little influence in that way.'

'If I don't, I said, I wish I may be shot, and to convince you that I am in earnest in what I say, I will come back this way in a week or ten days, and if you will get up a gathering of the people, I will make a speech to them. Get up a barbeque and I will pay for it.'

No, Colonel, we are not rich people in this section, but we have plenty of provisions to contribute for a barbeque and some to spare for those who have none. The push of crops will be over in a few days and we can afford a day for a barbeque. This is Thursday. I will see to getting up on Saturday week. Come to my house on Friday and we will go together and I promise you a very respectable crowd to see and hear you.'

'Well, I will be there. But one thing more before I say good-bye. I must know your name.'

'My name is Bunce.'

'Not Horatio Bunce?'

'Yes.'

'Well, Mr. Bunce, I never saw you before though you say you have seen me, but I know you very well. I am glad I have met you and very proud that I may hope to have you for my friend.'

It was one of the luckiest hits of my life that I met him. He mingled but little with the public, but was widely known for his remarkable intelligence and incorruptible integrity and for a heart brimful and
running over with kindness and benevolence, which showed themselves not only in words but in acts. He was the oracle of the whole country around him, and his fame had extended far beyond the circle of his immediate acquaintance. Though I had never met him before, I had heard much of him, and but for this meeting it is very likely I should have had opposition, and have been beaten. One thing is very certain, no man could now stand up in that district under such a vote.

At the appointed time I was at his house, having told our conversation to every crowd I had met, and to every man I stayed all night with, and I found that it gave the people an interest and a confidence in me stronger than I had ever seen manifested before. Though I was considerably fatigued when I reached his house, and under ordinary circumstances, should have gone early to bed, I kept up until midnight talking about the principles and affairs of government, and got more real, true knowledge of them than I had got all my life before.

I have known and seen much of him since, for I respect him - no, that is not the world - I reverence and love him more than any living man, and I go to see him two or three times every year; and I will tell you, sir, if every one who professes to be a Christian lived and acted and enjoyed as he does, the religion of Christ would take the world by storm.

But, to return to my story. The next morning I went to the barbeque and to my surprise, found about a thousand men there. I met a good many whom I had not known before, and they and my friend introduced me around until I had got pretty well acquainted - at least, they all knew me. In due time notice was given that I would speak to them. They gathered up around a stand that had been erected. I opened by speech by saying:

Fellow-citizens - I present myself before you today feeling like a new man. My eyes have lately been opened to truths which ignorance or prejudice, or both, had heretofore hidden from my view. I feel that I can today offer you the ability to render you more valuable service than I have ever been able to render before. I am here today more for the purpose of acknowledging my error than to see your votes. That I should make this acknowledgment is due to myself as well as to you. Whether you will vote for me is a matter for your consideration only.

I went on to tell them about the fire and my vote for the appropriation and then told them why I was satisfied it was wrong. I closed by saying:

And now, fellow citizens, it remains only for me to tell you that most of the speech you have listened to with so much interest was simply a repetition of the arguments by which your neighbor, Mr. Bunce, convinced me of my error. It is the best speech I ever made in my life, but he is entitled to the credit for it. And now I hope he is satisfied with his convert and that he will get up here and tell you so. He came upon the stand and said:

'Fellow citizens, it affords me great pleasure to comply with the request of Colonel Crockett. I have always considered him a thoroughly honest man, and I am satisfied that he will faithfully perform all that he has promised to you today.'

He went down, and there went up from that crowd such a shout for Davy Crockett as his name never called forth before. I am not much given to tears, but I was taken with a choking then and felt some big drops rolling down my cheeks. And I tell you now that the remembrance of those few words spoken by such a man, and the honest, hearty shout they produced, is worth more to me than all the reputation I have ever made, or ever shall make, as a member of Congress.

"Now, sir," concluded Crockett, "you know why I made that speech yesterday."

"There is one thing now to which I call your attention. You remember that I proposed to give a week's pay. There are in that House many very wealthy men - men who think nothing of spending a week's pay, or a dozen of them, for a dinner or a wine party when they have something to accomplish by it. Some of those same men made beautiful speeches upon the great debt of gratitude which the country owned the deceased - a debt which could not be paid by money - and the insignificance and worthlessness of money, particularly so insignificant a sum as $10,000, when weighed against the honor of the nation. Yet not one of them responded to my proposition. Money with them is nothing but trash when it is to come out of the people. But it is the one great thing for which most of them are striving, and many of them sacrifice honor, integrity and just to obtain it."

6/4/09 - 7/4/09: BAN THE CAN FROM CHINA

I WAS BUYING FOOD THE OTHER DAY AT THE COUNTRY MARKET.

ON THE LABEL OF SOME PRODUCTS IT SAID 'FROM CHINA'.

FOR EXAMPLE THE "OUR FAMILY" BRAND OF THE MANDARIN ORANGES SAYS RIGHT ON THE CAN 'FROM CHINA'.

I WAS SHOCKED!!

SO FOR A FEW MORE CENTS I BOUGHT THE LIBERTY GOLD BRAND OR THE DOLE SINCE IT'S FROM CALIFORNIA.

TAKES FOREVER JUST TO BUY FOOD AND DO LABEL READING ! !

Are we Americans as dumb as we appear --- or --- is it that we just do not think? While the Chinese, knowingly and intentionally, export inferior and even toxic products and dangerous toys and goods to be sold in American markets, the media wrings its hands and criticizes the ex-Bush Administration for perceived errors.

Yet 70% of Americans believe that the trading privileges afforded to the Chinese should be suspended.

Well, duh..why do you need the government to suspend trading privileges?

SIMPLY DO IT YOURSELF, AMERICA!!

Simply look on the bottom of every product you buy, and if it says 'Made in China' or 'PRC' (and that now includes Hong Kong), simply choose another product, or none at all. You will be amazed at how dependent you are on Chinese products, and you will be equally amazed at what you can do without.

Who needs plastic eggs to celebrate Easter? If you must have eggs, use real ones and benefit some American farmer. Easter is just an example, the point is do not wait for the government to act. Just go ahead and assume control on your own.

THINK ABOUT THIS: If 200 million Americans refuse to buy just $20 each of Chinese goods, that's a billion dollar trade imbalance resolved in our favor...fast!!

The downside? Some American businesses will feel a temporary pinch from having foreign stockpiles of inventory. Wahhhhhhhhhhhh !!!

The solution? Let's give them fair warning and send our own message. Most of the people who have been reading about this matter are planning on implementing this on June 4, and continue it until July 4. That is only one month of trading losses, but it will hit the Chinese for 1/12th of the total, or 8%, of their American exports. Then they will at least have to ask themselves if the benefits of their arrogance and lawlessness were worth it.

Remember, June 4 to July 4.

EVEN BETTER. . . START NOW.

Send this to everybody you know. Let's show them that we are Americans and NOBODY can take us for granted.

If we can't live without cheap Chinese goods for one month out of our lives, WE DESERVE WHAT WE GET!

Pass it on, America

The #1 thing Obama doesn't know and would refuse to acknowledge

A powerful quote from Pastor/Dr. Adrian Rogers (1931–2005):

“You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.

Letter to the editor...from a man whose family business was just stolen from him by our government

Listen, everybody: This is obscene. This is wrong. This man's life was just stolen from him and his family. I am enraged and I know that if we don't find a way to stop Obama and his cohorts, all will be lost forever in America.
My name is George C. Joseph. I am the sole owner of Sunshine Dodge-Isuzu, a family owned and operated business in Melbourne, Florida. My family bought and paid for this automobile franchise 35 years ago in 1974. I am the second generation to manage this business.

We currently employ 50+ people and before the economic slowdown we employed over 70 local people. We are active in the community and the local chamber of commerce. We deal with several dozen local vendors on a day to day basis and many more during a month. All depend on our business for part of their livelihood. We are financially strong with great respect in the market place and community. We have strong local presence and stability.

I work every day the store is open, nine to ten hours a day. I know most of our customers and all our employees. Sunshine Dodge is my life.

On Thursday, May 14, 2009 I was notified that my Dodge franchise, that we purchased, will be taken away from my family on June 9, 2009 without compensation and given to another dealer at no cost to them. My new vehicle inventory consists of 125 vehicles with a financed balance of 3 million dollars. This inventory becomes impossible to sell with no factory incentives beyond June 9, 2009. Without the Dodge franchise we can no longer sell a new Dodge as "new," nor will we be able to do any warranty service work. Additionally, my Dodge parts inventory, (approximately $300,000.) is virtually worthless without the ability to perform warranty service. There is no offer from Chrysler to buy back the vehicles or parts inventory.

Our facility was recently totally renovated at Chrysler's insistence, incurring a multi-million dollar debt in the form of a mortgage at Sun Trust Bank.

HOW IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA CAN THIS HAPPEN?

THIS IS A PRIVATE BUSINESS NOT A GOVERNMENT ENTITY

This is beyond imagination! My business is being stolen from me through NO FAULT OF OUR OWN. We did NOTHING wrong.

This atrocity will most likely force my family into bankruptcy. This will also cause our 50+ employees to be unemployed. How will they provide for their families? This is a total economic disaster.

HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN IN A FREE MARKET ECONOMY IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA?

I beseech your help, and look forward to your reply. Thank you.

Sincerely,

George C. Joseph

Americans know how to use the moving van to escape high taxes

Soak the Rich, Lose the Rich

Here's the problem for states that want to pry more money out of the wallets of rich people. It never works because people, investment capital and businesses are mobile: They can leave tax-unfriendly states and move to tax-friendly states.

And the evidence that we discovered in our new study for the American Legislative Exchange Council, "Rich States, Poor States," published in March, shows that Americans are more sensitive to high taxes than ever before. The tax differential between low-tax and high-tax states is widening, meaning that a relocation from high-tax California or Ohio, to no-income tax Texas or Tennessee, is all the more financially profitable both in terms of lower tax bills and more job opportunities.

Top 10 Reasons eBook Marketing Rocks

eBook marketing is one of the most lucrative ways of making money on the Internet. It’s inexpensive to get started, there is minimal upkeep and the profit margin is huge. Whether you want to earn an extra few hundred dollars a month, or make a full-time income online, eBook marketing can be just the ticket.

eBooks are easy to create, sell and deliver and services like Mom PLR eBooks make it even easier.

Read on to find out the top 10 reasons eBook marketing rocks:

1. eBooks are popular.

Despite the so-called economic downturn, the demand for eBooks continues to increase. According to the International Digital Publishing Forum, sales of eBooks in the United States increased, from US$8 million in the fourth quarter of 2007 to over $17 in the last quarter of 2008. There’s no doubt that the demand for eBooks is high.

2. eBooks are easy to write.

You don’t have to be an expert or a writer to create and market your own eBooks. In fact, you don’t have to write them yourself. Services like Mom PLR eBooks create the eBooks for you, and all you have to do is to market them (and Mom PLR eBooks makes marketing easier, too).

3. eBooks are “green”.

Because eBooks are digital, they don’t require paper, ink and fuel to print, store and ship. This makes eBooks attractive to consumers, who are becomingly increasingly concerned about the environment.

4. eBooks are inexpensive to produce.

Because there’s no printing involved, all you need to produce an eBook is software to transform the text file into a PDF. This software is bundled in Mac computers, if that’s what you use, or is available inexpensively for Windows users. Plus, it’s super easy to update an eBook and make it more current, and you won’t be left with stockpiles of old or obsolete versions. That said, if your customers want a printed version of your eBook, you can easily make it available as well through print-on-demand services.

5. eBooks are cheap and easy to store.

If you were selling physical books, you would have to think of where to store all your stock. You could keep them in your house, or pay for storage space elsewhere. With eBooks, all you need is web hosting, which you can have for as little as $5 a month (and getting even cheaper). Plus, you don’t have to worry about protecting stocks from dust, rain, mold and rodents.

6. eBooks are free and fast to deliver.

You can “deliver” an eBook to your customer as quickly as you send Email. This is a big advantage, especially to customers who need to have the solution to their problems right now - like the Mom who is up at 2 am wondering how she can get her baby to sleep through the night.

7. eBooks can be consumed “on the go”.

Everybody’s so busy running around nowadays, and we like being able to bring information with us wherever we go. With a digital book reader or cell phone, your customers will be able to bring their eBooks with them anywhere. They’re much less bulky than printed books.

8. eBooks can be transformed into other information products.

From a marketing point of view, each eBook is a potential gold mine. You can: split it up into articles, short reports, or eCourses. You can transform it into audio and video. You can use it to provide regular content in membership sites. Or, you can combine individual but eBooks into “the ultimate resource” for your niche. As a member of Mom PLR eBooks, you’ll get a 5-day eCourse, newsletter topic ideas, and more tips for using and marketing your monthly eBook.

9. eBooks make it easy to cross-sell and upsell products.

A really cool feature of eBooks is they allow you to hyperlink to websites. This means you can add affiliate links to products or services that are relevant to the eBook’s topic. You could also link to other eBooks that you sell, including higher-priced products and continuity programs. This is why some marketers make money from giving away eBooks.

10. eBooks are interactive.

eBooks are going high-tech! You can now add audio and video files into them. You can insert a survey form that the reader can instantly submit via the Internet. All this makes for a richer experience with eBooks, which is sure to make them even more irresistible to consumers.

In short, eBook marketing is one of the easiest ways to earn passive income online and Mom PLR eBooks makes it even easier.

Congressmen challenge Obama assertion by drafting 'spiritual heritage' legislation

FAITH OF OUR FATHERS

While Barack Obama has repeatedly claimed that the U.S. is "no longer a Christian nation," several members of Congress have taken a stand to boldly disagree.

A bipartisan group of 25 members of the House of Representatives earlier this month submitted H.Res. 397, which calls on Congress to affirm "the rich spiritual and religious history of our nation's founding and subsequent history" and to designate the first week of May as America's Spiritual Heritage Week for "the appreciation of and education on America's history of religious faith."

Rep. Randy Forbes, R-Va., specifically challenged the president's claims that America is not a Christian nation in a news conference announcing the bill immediately following last week's National Day of Prayer observance.

"The overwhelming evidence suggests that this nation was born and birthed with Judeo-Christian principles," Forbes told reporters, "and I would challenge anybody to tell me that point in time when we ceased to be so, because it doesn't exist."

Read for yourself the timeless evidence of Christianity's impact on America in the freshly republished "Christianity and the American Commonwealth."

The bill itself cites over 70 historical references and quotes from past presidents, Founding Fathers and Supreme Court decisions as proof that Judeo-Christian principles have been the foundation of our nation.

Whaddya mean, 'America is not a Christian nation'?

On December 5, 2007 I published a collection called "What the Founders said...in their own words" which, I'm sure, is part of the 70 historical references and quotes mentioned above... Read it here

What's in the Bill of Rights?

When our government enacts “politically correct” laws, read the first amendment and consider if our First Amendment rights are being infringed. (And the First Amendment is being mocked by that silly, full-of-himself caricature of a human being who demeans Carrie Prejean for speaking out about her personal beliefs.)

Bill of Rights

The Preamble to the Bill of Rights

Congress of the United States begun and held at the City of New-York, on Wednesday the fourth of March, one thousand seven hundred and eighty nine.

THE Conventions of a number of the States, having at the time of their adopting the Constitution, expressed a desire, in order to prevent misconstruction or abuse of its powers, that further declaratory and restrictive clauses should be added: And as extending the ground of public confidence in the Government, will best ensure the beneficent ends of its institution.

RESOLVED by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America, in Congress assembled, two thirds of both Houses concurring, that the following Articles be proposed to the Legislatures of the several States, as amendments to the Constitution of the United States, all, or any of which Articles, when ratified by three fourths of the said Legislatures, to be valid to all intents and purposes, as part of the said Constitution; viz.

Lead anchor on national news program thoroughly uneducated and uniformed about Islam

UPDATE: From a friend who travels a lot in the Middle East:
...you might want to add that:
  • Women can not travel without their husband or father’s permission.

  • Women can not seek medical treatment without their husband or father’s permission.

  • Women do not have the right of inheritance.

  • Women can not work at the few jobs that are open to women without their husband or father’s permission.

  • Women can not attend school without their husband or father’s permission.

  • A woman, no matter what her age, must live with her parents or other relatives until she is married.

  • A woman can not be alone in a room (including a doctor’s office, a job interview, an elevator, etc.) with a man she is not related to.

  • And, the one Sharia law/custom that I fully endorse [wink]: It is considered unseemly for a woman to give out cash tips to workers, drivers, maids, etc.
The Threat of Islam’s Fanatics

by Dick McDonald

I spent the better part of W’s first term researching and writing about Saudi Arabia’s Wahhabi Sect of Islam and the Jihadist threat it posed to the World. His second term I spent promoting the privatization of Social Security and Medicare. In the last 24 hours I have had reason to revisit the threat that Islam poses to humanity. Of course I write this under the threat that this article is hate speech because the First Amendment is being rewritten by the liberal appeasers as we speak.

Last night I listened to Katie Couric on Dave Letterman’s show appear utterly amazed at what she discovered in Saudi Arabia on her recent visit on a multi-country interview with our Secretary of Defense, Robert Gates. She breathlessly informed the audience that Saudi men don’t let their women drive cars, go out unescorted or shop on the same mall floor. When questioned she discovered the men allowed that if women shopped on the same floor it would be considered discriminatory towards men. Her shock only revealed her ignorance.

Now here is a lead anchor on a national news program so thoroughly uneducated and uniformed about Islam’s absolutely barbarian and primitive practices she was aghast at the fact that the shopping center she visited was the “Chop–Chop” center. Chop-chop signifying the place where they still hold public executions and dismemberment of limbs for offenses against the religion. You could viscerally feel the chills running down her spine.

This is one dim bulb – posing as a paragon of intelligent informed dialogue with the American people every week night at 6. This blindness is why the American people are being misled as to the goal of Islam to “caliphate” the world.

Then on television I see that crooked-spine leader of the free world do his third 360 this week and call for the very “military tribunals” of the Guantanamo detainees that he had promised the American people he would abolish. Obama is doing so much spinning he is giving the dreadle competition. Between him and the consummate liar Pelosi the American people should be convinced by now that the Zerocrats can never keep them safe.

To bolster that belief I talked to an ex- intelligence officer today who confided to me that the CIA has had its hands full of Islamic extremists but remains publicly silent to prevent panic and retribution. In his short stint in a major American city he counted over 400 Islamic terrorist incidences the agency thwarted during a one-year period he worked there.

Little has changed in the last four years since I last visited Islam’s Wahhabi sect. The threat they pose is worse than ever with air heads like Couric and a CIA keeping the threat a secret from ordinary Americans so they never get the message.

CHANGE?

Received an email today...here it is:

Not long ago I read a joke. It said all the politicians running for president are promising change to the American people:
We send them billions and billions of tax dollars and they send us the change.
Funny?

Not really. There's too much truth in it to be very funny.

That got me to thinking: Hey all promise change...how about if they run on a promise of restoration rather than change! A restoration that would take us back in time to a place where things ran better, smoother and life was more enjoyable.

Change? That, in truth, is what they have been giving us all along.
  • We used to have a strong dollar--politicians changed that.

  • Marriage used to be sacred--politicians are changing that.

  • We used to be respected around the world--politicians changed that.

  • We used to have a strong manufacturing economy--politicians changed that.

  • We used to have lower tax structures--politicians changed that.

  • We used to enjoy more freedoms--politicians changed that.

  • We used to be a large exporter of American made goods--politicians changed that.

  • We used to teach patriotism in schools--politicians changed that.

  • We used to educate children in schools--politicians changed that.

  • We used to enforce LEGAL citizenship--politicians changed that.

  • We used to have affordable food & gas prices--politicians changed that, too
One could go on and on with this list.

What hasn't been changed, politicians are promising to change that as well, if you will elect them. When, oh when, is America going to sit back with open eyes and look at what we once were and where we have come and say, enough is enough?

The trouble is, America 's youthful voters today don't know of the great America that existed forty and fifty years ago. They see the world as if it has always existed, as it is now.

When will we wake up?

Tomorrow may be too late. When will America realize--politicians are what is wrong with America?

What is needed is for the constitution to be amended to limit all Senators and Representatives to TWO terms in office like the president.

Oh, by the way, no big pension either, social security just like the rest of us. Being a politician shouldn't be a persons life work but rather a call to service then back to being an honest hard working citizen.

PASS THIS ONE AROUND ---FOR A CHANGE

When will they ever learn

Secret White House meeting: Healthcare will be RATIONED!!!

Death of U.S. healthcare

By Dick Morris
Posted: 05/12/09 04:43 PM [ET]

When all of America’s top health insurers and providers met at the White House this week and pledged to save $2 trillion over the next decade in health costs, they were pledging to sabotage our medical care. The blunt truth, which everybody agreed to keep quiet, is that the only way to reduce these costs is to ration healthcare, thereby destroying our system.

Here’s why:

GALLUP SHOCKER: More Americans “Pro-Life” Than “Pro-Choice” for First Time

More-Americans-Pro-Life-Than-Pro-Choice-First-Time.aspxPRINCETON, NJ -- A new Gallup Poll, conducted May 7-10, finds 51% of Americans calling themselves "pro-life" on the issue of abortion and 42% "pro-choice." This is the first time a majority of U.S. adults have identified themselves as pro-life since Gallup began asking this question in 1995.

Democrats discover Gitmo's virtues

...Guantanamo will join the growing list of security tools that President Obama once criticized as out of keeping with American values but has since discovered are very in keeping with protecting the nation. Wiretapping, renditions, military tribunals, Gitmo -- it turns out the Bush people weren't a bunch of yahoos but often thoughtful defenders against terrorism. This is all progress, though America might wonder if it could have been spared the intervening drama.

Cataclysmic

That the US markets are experiencing a Sucker's Rally is obvious to many experienced investors. That China's markets are experiencing the same may not be so obvious. Both economies are chugging down parallel tracks towards the same fate, a derailed train wreck, and for much the same reasons.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index has shot up over 50% since its low of November 4, and gained almost 6% in the last week alone. There has been a world-wide deluge of news stories about how China is recovering from recession with miraculous rapidity, and is back on track towards 8% GDP growth this year.

Who knew how many folks believe in Chinese Easter Bunnies? Evidently, even more than those who claim to see Easter Bunnies frolicking on the White House lawn portending an end to our recession and 3.5% growth by year's end.

There's almost no way to describe the magnitude of the train wreck Engineer Zero is heading us towards. China's is going to be nightmarish. Ours is going to be cataclysmic.

Dissecting health-care data from Britain, Canada, and elsewhere

Socialized Failure

JOHN C. GOODMAN

The health-care systems of all developed countries face three unrelenting problems: rising costs, inadequate quality, and incomplete access to care. A slew of recent articles, published mainly in medical journals, suggest that the health-care systems of other countries are superior to ours on all these fronts. Yet the articles are at odds with a substantial economic literature.

What follows is a brief review of the evidence. As other writers demonstrate elsewhere in this issue, the American health-care system has plenty of problems. But it is not inferior to other developed countries’ systems — and we should therefore not be looking to these systems, most of which are characterized by heavy government intervention, for inspiration.
