Two friends talking about liberals

Eric:
I think liberals WANT to love the country, and love the country in the ABSTRACT, but hate the CURRENT REALITY of the country.

They constantly want to change the country to utopia, and will never be satisfied until we get there (which is never). Hence the frustration and anger at Republicans that block their attempts.

That's why concepts like hope and change and "progress" are so appealing to them, because it's never about reality, it's about the dream of what might be.
Robert:
Obama said, in one sentence, "America is the greatest country in the world, and I want to change it."
