Fixing the VA requires first breaking labor's grip, and the unions are already girding for that fight

AFFH: You won’t see a more ambitious Obama administration initiative than this

Last Friday night, as the long holiday weekend began, the Obama administration furtively announced a plan to being controlling local zoning decisions at the federal level. Stanley Kurtz, writing at the National Review, explains:

Please take the time to read this. It gives specific instructions on the best way to deal with it.
How can conservatives help draw the public's attention to these radical and unconstitutional dictates?

There is a way to break the Obama administration’s silence on the AFFH rule and its anti-suburban regionalist agenda.

Are we there, yet?

POV--it makes a difference!

It no longer matters if you are a legal business or not: If the DOJ doesn't like you, they will close your bank account

...why has the press been barely interested in a far more troubling development, namely Eric Holder's U.S. Department of Justice using pressure on the financial system to conduct "a massive government overreach into private businesses that are operating within the law," which has been going on for at least a year? Welcome to "Operation Choke Point."

Will Israel be the first cashless society on the entire planet?

Will Israel be the first cashless society on the entire planet?  A committee chaired by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s chief of staff has come up with a three phase plan to “all but do away with cash transactions in Israel”.  Individuals and businesses would still be permitted to conduct cash transactions in small amounts (at least initially), but the eventual goal is to force Israeli citizens to conduct as much business as possible using electronic forms of payment.  In fact, it has been reported that Israeli officials believe that “cash is bad” because it fuels the underground economy and allows people to avoid paying taxes.  It is hoped that requiring most transactions to be conducted in cash will reduce crime and help balance the national budget.  And once 98 or 99 percent of all transactions are cashless, it will not be difficult for the Israeli government (or any other government) to go the rest of the way and ban cash transactions altogether.  But is a cashless society actually desirable?  This is a question that people all over the world will have to start asking as governments increasingly restrict the use of cash.

Memorial Day was started by former slaves on May 1, 1865 in Charleston, SC

Memorial Day was started by former slaves on May, 1, 1865 in Charleston, SC to honor 257 dead Union Soldiers who had been buried in a mass grave in a Confederate prison camp. They dug up the bodies and worked for 2 weeks to give them a proper burial as gratitude for fighting for their freedom. They then held a parade of 10,000 people led by 2,800 Black children where they marched, sang and celebrated.
Thanks to Abstrakt Goldsmith for this nugget of history that most of us never learned in school.

Progressives Today
Jim Hoft, the founder and proprietor of The Gateway Pundit, and Kyle Olson, the founder have joined forces in a new online project “Progressives Today.”

Many Americans who consider themselves left of center have an antiquated sense of today’s Democrat party. This is not their father’s Democratic party. Democrats today are controlled by, and answer to, the most radical elements of their party. Yet, with cover generously provided by the mainstream media, progressives are able to push their influence in the shadows. And they have no shame.

Progressives Today follows and publicly exposes the radical elements of the institutional left. It will be the go to resource for all elements of the progressive movement through old school investigative journalism. We will cover their conferences with undercover reporters, we will interview their leaders, we will follow their writings, teachings, social media presence. Our goal is to finally hold the left accountable for their radical opinions, their destructive policies and their dangerous anti-American agenda.

One of the goals of PT, in addition to simply exposing progressives, is to expose their views to moderates and Democrats so that a choice must be made. It is our strong belief that, Progressives Today will cause many on the left to re-evaluate their political alliances.

Confidential source reveals what really happened in Benghazi

Lieutenant Colonel Allen West:
Today as I returned from Detroit, I had a moment that I truly felt was God sent, as I don’t believe in coincidences. It happened on one of my flights, and it was two hours I will never forget.

WARNING: Check your ground beef before you grill out this Memorial Day weekend

A representative for the U.S. Department of Agriculture said the meat is being removed from store shelves. But consumers should return or throw out meat that has the code EST.2574B and a production date between March 31 and April 18, 2014.
The ground beef is sold under a variety of labels, according to the USDA, but comes from Wolverine Packing Co. in Detroit.

Did Breitbart Purposely Ignore Evidence of Obama’s Eligibility?

From Orly Taitz, Esq

From D.C. Clothesline

Something's got to break somewhere or else the biggest heist in the history of the world will continue. It certainly looks like all hope resides with Orly and her cases, but they depend on honest judges and have been hobbled by dishonest media, not to mention the part the Democratic Party has played!

We need a big-time break in the dam.

G-d help us.

Consumers paying 7.4% more for food than they were last year--could lead to macro-economic repercussions by Fall

Karl Denninger at The Market Ticker warns:
Now let me point out that we’re not quite where you have to ring the “oh crap” bell yet. There’s another month or two before that happens — but by June, if the trend we’re seeing here hasn’t broken this will get into the forward economic analysis mindspace of most of the people who look at this stuff.

Please protect the pets from the heat!!! A message from LA Animal Services!

Pet Safety in EXTREME Heat.

According to composer George Gershwin, summertime means “the livin’ is easy; fish are jumpin’, and the cotton is high.” This special season can also mean we need to protect our companion animals from extreme heat.

Keep in mind that when it is hot for you, it is even hotter for them. Dogs and cats do not sweat through their skin. They cool themselves by panting or rapid breathing, which means animals must work hard to stay cool.

Too much heat can be extremely dangerous or even fatal. If your best friend has a shorter nose, like Persian cats and bulldogs, he is more susceptible to heatstroke than breeds with longer noses.

If your dog or cat begins very rapid, noisy breathing, has trouble swallowing, and looks very distressed, she could be having a heatstroke. Heatstroke is an emergency. Get the animal out of the heat. Apply cold, wet towels to the back of the head. Place cold packs wrapped in towels or plain wet towels between the back legs and on the belly. Cool off your furry friend and then take her to the vet immediately.

The best plan is to keep your dog and cat protected from the summer heat.

Always make sure that your dog or cat has plenty of fresh water to drink. A bucket that holds a gallon or more of water will stay cool longer than water in a shallow pan. Some dogs consider ice cubes a treat, and you can add a few to the water bowl.

Dogs and cats do sweat a little through the pads of their feet. The cats I know do not appreciate water added to any part of their body, but dogs often enjoy having cool water on their feet. Some dogs enjoy walking through or even lying in a child’s wading pool.

It is dangerous to leave your dog or cat in a car for 5 minutes. If he cannot go inside at every stop with you, he is safer at home on hot days! Car interiors heat very quickly in the hot sun, even with the windows open. If it is 85 degrees outside, it will climb to 102 degrees inside your car within ten minutes. In half an hour, it will reach 120 degrees or more! If it is 90 degrees out, temperatures can top 160 degrees faster than you can walk around the block.

While walking your dog outdoors, pay particular attention the hot pavement or sidewalks that make your dogs walking area hotter and can even burn their feet. Early morning and later evening walks will be more comfortable for you both!

Animals who go outside need access to shade. Dark coats absorb heat. Lighter coated animals, especially white ones, are at higher risk for skin cancer from exposure to the sun and they are more susceptible to sunburn.

Longer coated dogs and cats who are brushed regularly have natural insulation from the heat. However, if the coat has gotten matted, a summer clip will make your buddy much more comfortable and allow you a new start at keeping him brushed. Remember, newly clipped animals can be sunburned.

If your dog spends time in the yard, make sure she has access to shade. Shade trees, a covered patio, or a cool spot under the porch can help keep her comfortable.

Companion animals want to be with you. They will be safer and cooler inside with you, where they can spend their time doing what they do best: being your best friend!

Had Lewinsky come completely (as opposed to selectively) clean sixteen years ago, instead of protecting President Clinton, her future might have been rosier.

Had she been honest about the obstruction of justice, perjury and suborning perjury, the Clinton White House might not have been successful at spinning the lie that impeachment was all about sex. Do you think the lawlessness we are witnessing out of Washington today happened over night?

Dr. Jack Wheeler:
MALABO, Equatorial Guinea – It took coming here, to the darkest pit of hellhole Africa, for it to finally dawn on me who Obama really is, to what total extent he isn’t American at all, but African.
Freedom House, in its 2014 Worst of the Worst report, highlights Equatorial Guinea as “one of the world’s most repressive societies.” Its dictator, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, is a murderer who ran the Black Beach Prison where countless prisoners were tortured to death. He has ruled since 1979, declared himself to be his country’s God who “can decide to kill without anyone calling him to account and without going to Hell” in 2003, and was elected by leaders of the 54 member-states of the African Union (AU) to be its chairman in 2011.
His picture is everywhere in the country:
Obiang uses his country’s oil revenue as his personal piggy bank, enriching his friends and family while the average citizen of his country lives on $1 a day. He has a number of presidential palaces and bought a $31 million dollar home in Malibu, California, (and a $15 million dollar apartment in Paris) for his playboy son Teodorin, whom he is grooming to succeed him.
But there is nothing at all exceptional about him. He is merely yet another example of what in Africa are called Big Men – narcissistic, charismatic sociopaths who gain power however they can, never let go of it, look upon themselves as demi-gods for whom ordinary morality does not apply, utterly convinced they deserve to be worshiped with total obedience and to live in complete extravagance while being completely indifferent to the poverty of others.
Remind you of anyone in America?

Why is it that some people who appear to have vital information about Barack Obama end up dead?

So let's summarize what we know to be true at this point:

  1. A Hawaii government official swears that no Hawaii long-form birth certificate ever existed.

  2. Loretta Fuddy issues a "certificate of live birth" (not to be confused with an official birth certificate which would include extras like foot prints).

  3. Loretta Fuddy allegedly came into some extra money that she applied to her mortgage.

  4. Doug Vogt revealed that Fuddy came into some extra money in a radio interview.

  5. A week later Fuddy is dead and the media totally botches the story.

What conclusion are we supposed to come to?

Superman: Rep. Trent Franks (R., Ariz.) will save America

I'm so proud to have just become an Arizonian!
To protect the civilian grid against an EMP event, Franks has introduced H.R. 3410, the Critical Infrastructure Protection Act, which would enable the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to implement practical steps to protect the electric grid.

Dr. Michael J. Frankel, a senior scientist at Pennsylvania State University, said Franks’ bill is a “necessary first step” for the defense of the electric grid. The bill currently has 19 cosponsors.

LIghts out?

The Inquisitr invited Tom Tamarkin, founder & CEO of USCL and EnergyCite®, for a no-holds barred discussion:
Despite all the misleading and overly optimistic claims to the contrary, the truth is that by the year 2060, all the planet’s known reserves of fossil fuel will run dry. Before we begin our discussion about the depletion of the world’s oil reserves and the fact that there is no current alternative energy technology other than nuclear fission capable of replacing oil, I think it would be useful if you gave our readers an insight into your background as an innovator in the energy industry, and as a humanitarian trying to build a better world.
