New York subway train cutback helped spread coronavirus: MIT study
EXCERPT Conservative radio host Mark Levin cited a study from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on Saturday concluding that the decision to cut back on subway trains forced more people on fewer trains and contributed to the coronavirus spread.
“MIT study and analysis: New York’s decision to cutback on subway trains and public buses crowded more people onto fewer subway cars and buses creating the pandemic’s ground zero in the city,” Levin tweeted Saturday.
“New York City’s multitentacled subway system was a major disseminator — if not the principal transmission vehicle — of coronavirus infection during the initial takeoff of the massive epidemic that became evident throughout the city during March 2020,” the abstract of the study stated.

MARK LEVIN: DONALD TRUMP IS THE MOST CONSERVATIVE PRESIDENT SINCE RONALD REAGAN
If you’re a conservative, you must admit that Donald Trump has been more conservative than you anticipated, which is why most conservatives – I’m not talking about self-aggrandizing, pseudo-conservatives who worked for Bush or self-aggrandizing, pseudo-conservatives who were a part of the Never Trump movement. I’m not talking about them. They’ve got their own agendas and their own psychological issues. When you look at this honestly and objectively – and remember, I supported Cruz in the Republican primaries, so I know of what I speak – you have to conclude that Donald Trump is the most conservative president since Ronald Reagan.READ MORE
No, he’s not as conservative, but that’s okay. He’s the most conservative president since Ronald Reagan. There’s no question in my mind about that.

Mark Levin's "The Liberty Amendments" -- What You Can Do to Save the Country
John Roberts and Obamacare, Anthony Kennedy on whatever the issue. This was never intended. So much of what is happening now was not intended. Presidents don't have the right to pick and choose what parts of legislation they like and implement that and deny other parts. The American people have the power to change this, but not at the ballot box. At least that's one of the theories of The Liberty Amendments. The Constitution is going to have to be reaffirmed and a new reminder to elected officials of what the law is is going to have to be made.
One of the points in the book is that the states, the amendment process is right there in Article V, how to deal with out-of-control administrations, how to deal with leaders that are abrogating and denying the Constitution, shredding it. It's right there. The Founders are brilliant. They knew what they were doing. They weren't just devising a formula for life during their era. They were devising a structure for all time, and, as such, they were able, 'cause they understood human nature, they were able to understand exactly how despotism happens, dictatorship happens, usurpation of freedom by governments, how it happens.

Is America in a Pre-Revolutionary State this July 4th?
I am filled with foreboding about what’s to come, indeed about what is already here. When I look at the masses swarming in Tahrir Square, I am at once repelled and attracted, repelled because, to be honest, I find their culture more than a bit crazy, but attracted because I know something is seriously wrong, not just in Egypt but in the USA.
Just heard Mark Levin read this article on the air...will blow your mind.
...everywhere we look on this July Fourth sees a great civilization in decline. And much of that decline can be laid at the foot of the incumbent. Especially his own people, African Americans, have suffered. Their unemployment numbers are catastrophic, their real needs ignored while hustlers like Sharpton, Jackson, and, sadly, even the president fan the flames of non-existent racism.
Tahrir Square anyone?

2013: YEAR OF THE ABSURD
Cross-posted at MareZilla.com
I was driving to do some errands recently and heard a caller on one of my favorite talk radio stations make a statement about the absurdity of the whole country hanging on every word coming from a couple of guys in D.C. who are deciding who gets to keep what and who gets stuff taken away from them to give to someone else.
Is this America?
Apparently, it is.
While half the country (at least) hasn't a clue about who the country's leaders are or even what the major issues are (Benghazi: "Ben who?"), the rest of us have spent our new year holiday with an ear tuned in to discover what the hell our fates will be in 2013 and beyond.
This has got to stop, but I'm not sure where to start.
It began with Karl Marx, the Fabian Socialists, the Frankfurt School, Woodrow Wilson, John Dewey, the Roosevelt boys (Franklin and Teddy), and--sealed in law--the two biggies from 1913: the creature from Jekyll Island (the Fed) and the income tax law.
Some say it happened with the 17th Amendment when Senators became elected instead of appointed.
Salon weighed in on this last August: Why would anyone want to take away people’s rights to elect their senators?
I just saw on Facebook that Mark Levin is cutting his vacation short to return to the air on Thursday and Friday of this week.
He's never given up yet, and I doubt he would return just to monitor events (there are plenty of other sources for that). So I'm looking for an idea or two--because I'm out of 'em for now.

Sen. Mike Lee, the Ivy League-educated Tea Party judicial mastermind from Utah, told CNN in 2010 that “the 17th Amendment was a mistake.” Texas Gov. Rick Perry also called the amendment “mistaken,” as did Rep. Paul Broun, a Republican from Georgia. Even conservative Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia said in 2010,The enormous weight of all these years filled with missteps, both judicial and political, have made the saving of the United States as founded seem as insurmountable as Frodo's quest to destroy the ring.“I would change it back to what they wrote, in some respects. The 17th Amendment has changed things enormously … [Y]ou can trace the decline of so-called states’ rights throughout the rest of the 20th century.”Alaska’s 2010 Republican nominee Joe Miller and perennial GOP candidate Alan Keyes have also signed on to the cause.

House rejects extra $22 billion in cuts that divided Republicans
By Russell Berman - 02/18/11 02:56 PM ET
The House rejected a measure cutting an additional $22 billion from the Republican spending bill, as conservatives ran into a wall of opposition from the GOP establishment over the depth of reductions to federal funding.Read more
The amendment backed by the conservative Republican Study Committee failed, 147-281, but not before putting the GOP spending divide under a spotlight on the House floor. Authored by RSC chairman Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), the proposal would have dramatically reshaped an appropriations bill that already slashes federal spending by $61 billion over the next seven months.
More than half of the Republican conference backed the measure in opposition to two party chiefs, Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) and Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), who voted with every Democrat against it. Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) did not vote, as is traditional for Speakers.
The party’s fourth-ranking member, Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-Texas), supported the measure, as did dozens of Republican freshman. Yet there was division even among the first-term, Tea Party-backed lawmakers. Rep. Kristi Noem (R-S.D.), an elected freshman representative on the leadership team, opposed the bill, while Rep. Austin Scott (R-Ga.), the freshman class president, supported it. . .

The Citizen's Constitution
Seth Lipsky's new book, The Citizen's Constitution: An Annotated Guide
provides a running commentary on the Constitution, sentence by sentence, and often clause by clause, or word by word, in a highly readable fashion, infusing every provision of the document with color and background, and highlighting its meaning in an era of big government and shrinking freedoms.
The Citizen's Constitution makes the case that Americans' age-old rights and privileges are more critical - and more in need of understanding and defending - than ever before in our history. It is a book that is both erudite and entertaining, and could not be more relevant to current events.
...and don't forget about this:

Remember this?
Thanks to Mark Levin for reminding all of us:
How can limited government and fiscal restraint be equated with lack of compassion for the poor? How can a tax break that puts a little more money in the weekly paychecks of working people be seen as an attack on the needy? Since when do we in America believe that our society is made up of two diametrically opposed classes--one rich, one poor--both in a permanent state of conflict and neither able to get ahead except at the expense of the other? Since when do we in America accept this alien and discredited theory of social and class warfare? Since when do we in America endorse the politics of envy and division?--Ronad Reagan

Speaking trugh to power
Just so we have our terms straight:
The phrase "speaking truth to power" goes back to 1955, when the American Friends Service Committee published Speak Truth to Power, a pamphlet ii at proposed a new approach to the Cold War. Its title, which came to Friend Milton Mayer toward the end of the week in summer 1954 when the composing committee finished work on the document, has become almost a cliche; it has become common far beyond Quaker circles, often used by people who have no idea of its origins. (One current example: Anita Hill entitled her memoir of her sensational charges of sexual harassment against Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas, Speaking Truth to Power.)I would think that the following (by the brilliant Mark Steyn) is "speaking truth to power":
To speak truth to power sounds so much like an integral part of Quakerism that some modem Friends have simply assumed the phrase goes back to the seventeenth century rather than arriving late in the middle of ours. It reflects what many contemporary Friends would like to believe is the characteristic Quaker stance toward political authority, hallowed in practice if not the exact words. Yet in its origins it was a political statement, entitling an explicitly political document.
The stimulus will do nothing for the economy, but it will dramatically advance the cause of statism (as Mark Levin rightly calls it). Last week's vote in California is a snapshot of where this leads: The gangster regime in Sacramento is an alliance between a corrupt and/or craven political class wholly owned by a public sector union-bureaucracy extortion racket. So what if the formerly Golden State goes belly-up? They'll pass the buck to Washington, and those of us in nonprofligate jurisdictions will get stuck with the tab. At some point, the dwindling band of citizens still foolish enough to earn a living by making things, selling things or providing services other than government-funded program coordination will have to vote against not just taxes but specific agencies and programs – hundreds and thousands of them.Perhaps I am wrong...but it is--no matter what else--a message that will be delivered, in truth, one way or another in the not-so-distant future.
The bad news is that our children will not enjoy the American Dream. The good news is they'll be able to apply for an American Dream Readiness Assistance Coordination Grantwriter Program. May the Funds be with you!

Liberty and Tyranny: Get it
All in all, Mark Levin has given us a remarkable gift. Read this book, and buy copies for those you care about, too. Anyone from a clever high schooler to a scholar of political philosophy can benefit from reading Liberty and Tyranny. --Thomas Lifson, editor and publisher of American Thinker
