Some people I know thought that their own family members who gave their lives and limbs in the Civil War would have been reparations enough...not to mention one person who said:
Hey, my family is of Scandinavian and German descent all of whom immigrated long after the Civil War and they settled in the North, so they didn't have anything to do with Slavery or even racist Southern Policies. Why should my tax dollars go for reparations? I am sure many of not most Americans fall into this category as well, since many immigrants came in the late 1800's.
