Don't let them take your property!

Property rights initiatives and referenda

Residents in nine states (9) will go to the polls in November to vote on ballot measures that aim to correct the egregious action done by the United States Supreme Court’s Kelo vs. the City of New London decision [Arizona, California, Florida, Idaho, Nevada, North Dakota, Michigan, Oregon, Washington]. Voters in Louisiana passed a ballot measure to restrict eminent domain abuse on the September primary ballot (The measure passed fifty-five percent to forty-five percent). Here is a brief status report of the other initiatives:

Private Property Rights 2006 State Ballot Initiatives.

"Win, lose, or draw, 20 years from now people will remember this election as the beginning of the property-rights movement in America, just as 1978 and 1980 was the beginning of the taxpayer movement in America." -- Grover Norquist, quoted in the Wall Street Journal, November 4, 2006
