Almost 1 out of 3 Physicians May Leave Medicine if Obamacare passes

It's widely known that Obamacare will bring with it a very big problem: a shortage of doctors. When you add millions of people to the medical system, as Dick Morris has discussed, there is a huge shortage to begin with.

Three of my own doctors have told me they will quit practicing medicine (or retire early) if Obamacare passes. They are GREAT doctors and my husband and I are beyond heartsick.

James Madison: 3/16/1751

Called the "Chief Architect of the Constitution," he wrote many of the Federalist Papers which helped convince States to ratify the Constitution. He introduced the First Amendment in the first session of Congress. This was James Madison, born MARCH 16, 1751.

During the War of 1812, Madison proclaimed two National Days of Prayer, 1812 and 1813. When the British marched on Washington, D.C., citizens evacuated, along with President and Dolly Madison. On August 25, 1814, as the British burned the White House, Capitol and public buildings, dark clouds began to roll in. A tornado sent debris flying, blew off roofs and knocked chimneys over on top of British troops. Two cannons were lifted off the ground and dropped yards away. A British historian wrote: "More British soldiers were killed by this stroke of nature than from all the firearms the American troops had mustered."

British forces fled in confusion and rains extinguished the fires. Madison then proclaimed a National Day of Public Humiliation, Fasting & Prayer to Almighty God on November 16, 1814. Two weeks after the War ended, Madison proclaimed a National Day of Thanksgiving & Devout Acknowledgment to Almighty God, March 4, 1815.

It's all supposed to be voluntary, those 'home visits' that are tucked into the mammoth Obamacare bill.

If you have a strong stomach, and a stronger bottom, you can find home visitation on pages 568-595. That's Section 2951 of H.R. 3590, the Senate [health care] bill....

The bill provides for federal funding and supervision for this vast expansion of government intrusion into family life. This is the Nanny State on steroids. Is your family being 'targeted' for such home visitations?

Let's see if you fit into one of these very broad categories:

• Families where Mom is not yet 21. (No mention here whether she is married or not.)
  
  
• Families where someone is a tobacco user. (Does this include the White House? Watch out, Sasha and Malia! Does Grandpa, whom you love and have taken in, enjoy his after-dinner pipe?)
  
  
• Families where children have low student achievement, developmental delays, or disabilities.

As if that list were not wide-ranging enough, here's the net that can encompass tens of millions:

• Families with individuals who are serving or formerly served in the armed forces, including such families that have members of the armed forces who have had multiple deployments outside the United States.
  
  
• Do you spank your children? You should know that HHS bureaucrats think you are an abuser.
  
  
• Do you support the Second Amendment? How would you like HHS bureaucrats asking your children if you maintain firearms in the home for family protection?
  
  
• Do you home-school your kids? Take care. Members of Congress who have tried to abolish home-schooling are big backers of this health care bill. Do you wonder why?

One thing is clear: For life and liberty, we must defeat ObamaCare.

On MARCH 15, 1984, the Senate voted down voluntary prayer in public schools. President Reagan said: "I am deeply disappointed that, although a majority of the Senate voted for it, the school prayer amendment fell short."

On September 25, 1982, Ronald Reagan said: "Unfortunately, in the last two decades we've experienced an onslaught of such twisted logic that if Alice were visiting America, she might think she'd never left Wonderland. We're told that it somehow violates the rights of others to permit students in school who desire to pray to do so. Clearly this infringes on the freedom of those who choose to pray, the freedom taken for granted since the time of our Founding Fathers."

Reagan continued: "To prevent those who believe in God from expressing their faith is an outrage...The relentless drive to eliminate God from our schools...should be stopped."

Ronald Reagan said February 25, 1984: "Sometimes I can't help but feel the First Amendment is being turned on its head."

Reagan told the Alabama Legislature, March 15, 1982: "The First Amendment was not written to protect the people of this country from religious values; it was written to protect religious values from government tyranny."

The Democratic Party has become the Lawyers’ Party:

Barack Obama is a lawyer.
Michelle Obama is a lawyer.
Hillary Clinton is a lawyer.
Bill Clinton is a lawyer.
John Edwards is a lawyer.
Elizabeth Edwards is a lawyer.

Every Democrat nominee since 1984 went to law school (although Gore did not graduate).

Every Democrat vice presidential nominee since 1976, except for Lloyd Bentsen, went to law school.

Look at leaders of the Democrat Party in Congress:

Harry Reid is a lawyer.
Nancy Pelosi is a lawyer.

The Republican Party is different.

President Bush is a businessman.
Vice President Cheney is a businessman.

The leaders of the Republican Revolution:

Newt Gingrich was a history professor.
Tom Delay was an exterminator. Dick Armey was an economist.
House Minority Leader Boehner was a plastic manufacturer.
The former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist is a heart surgeon.

Who was the last Republican president who was a lawyer? Gerald Ford, who left office 31 years ago and who barely won the Republican nomination as a sitting president, running against Ronald Reagan in 1976.

The Republican Party is made up of real people doing real work, who are often the targets of lawyers.

The Democrat Party is made up of lawyers. Democrats mock and scorn men who create wealth, like Bush and Cheney, or who heal the sick, like Frist, or who immerse themselves in history, like Gingrich.

The Lawyers’ Party sees these sorts of people, who provide goods and services that people want, as the enemies of America . And, so we have seen the procession of official enemies, in the eyes of the Lawyers’ Party, grow.

Against whom do Hillary and Obama rail? Pharmaceutical companies, oil companies, hospitals, manufacturers, fast food restaurant chains, large retail businesses, bankers, and anyone producing anything of value in our nation.

This is the natural consequence of viewing everything through the eyes of lawyers.

Lawyers solve problems by successfully representing their clients, in this case the American people.

Lawyers seek to have new laws passed, they seek to win lawsuits, they press appellate courts to overturn precedent, and lawyers always parse language to favor their side.

Confined to the narrow practice of law, that is fine. But it is an awful way to govern a great nation.

When politicians as lawyers begin to view some Americans as clients and other Americans as opposing parties, then the role of the legal system in our life becomes all-consuming. Some Americans become “adverse parties” of our very government. We are not all litigants in some vast social class-action suit. We are citizens of a republic that promises us a great deal of freedom from laws, from courts, and from lawyers.

Today, we are drowning in laws; we are contorted by judicial decisions; we are driven to distraction by omnipresent lawyers in all parts of our once private lives. America has a place for laws and lawyers, but that place is modest and reasonable, not vast and unchecked. When the most important decision for our next president is whom he will appoint to the Supreme Court, the role of lawyers and the law in America is too big. When lawyers use criminal prosecution as a continuation of politics by other means, as happened in the lynching of Scooter Libby and Tom Delay, then the power of lawyers in America is too great. When House Democrats sue America in order to hamstring our efforts to learn what our enemies are planning to do to us, then the role of litigation in America has become crushing.

We cannot expect the Lawyers’ Party to provide real change, real reform or real hope in America Most Americans know that a republic in which every major government action must be blessed by nine unelected judges is not what Washington intended in 1789. Most Americans grasp that we cannot fight a war when ACLU lawsuits snap at the heels of our defenders. Most Americans intuit that more lawyers and judges will not restore declining moral values or spark the spirit of enterprise in our economy.

Perhaps Americans will understand that change cannot be brought to our nation by those lawyers who already largely dictate American society and business. Perhaps Americans will see that hope does not come from the mouths of lawyers but from personal dreams nourished by hard work. Perhaps Americans will embrace the truth that more lawyers with more power will only make our problems worse.

The United States has 5% of the world’s population and 66% of the world’s lawyers! Tort (Legal) reform legislation has been introduced in congress several times in the last several years to limit punitive damages in ridiculous lawsuits such as “spilling hot coffee on yourself and suing the establishment that sold it to you” and also to limit punitive damages in huge medical malpractice lawsuits. This legislation has continually been blocked from even being voted on by the Democrat Party. When you see that 97% of the political contributions from the American Trial Lawyers Association goes to the Democrat Party, then you realize who is responsible for our medical and product costs being so high!

Women and Children First? A Tale of Two Ships

The scenario is well known, and the story still haunts the modern mind. The great ocean liner that was built as unsinkable struck an iceberg on April 14, 1912 and sank early the next morning, taking 1,517 of 2,223 lives on board. The RMS Titanic became a parable of modernity -- of the limits of technology and the hubris of humanity. It is also a subject of enduring fascination because of the stories of those who lived and died, known to us because of the fame and fortune of so many on the Titanic.

Less known to many is the sinking of the RMS Lusitania, which was torpedoed by a German U-boat on May 7, 1915, taking 1,198 of 1,959 lives on board. The sinking of the Lusitania was a major factor in bringing the United States into war against the German Empire in World War I, but it plays a much less prominent role in the American imagination -- largely thanks to Hollywood and its fascination with the Titanic.

Born in Germany MARCH 14, 1879, he began teaching himself calculus at age 14. With a doctorate from the University of Zurich, he wrote papers on electromagnetic energy, relativity, and statistical mechanics. He predicted a ray of light from a distant star would appear to bend as it passed near the Sun. When an eclipse confirmed this, the London Times headline ran November 7, 1919, "Revolution in science-New theory of the Universe-Newtonian ideas overthrown." This was Nobel Prize winner Albert Einstein.

Einstein's first visit to the U.S. was to raise funds for Jerusalem's Hebrew University. On his 3rd visit, 1932, he took a post at Princeton. When Nazis took over Germany, Albert Einstein stayed in the U.S., becoming a citizen in 1940.

Einstein's theory of relativity is the basis for applying atomic energy. Einstein's warning that Nazis could create an atom bomb led FDR to set up the Manhattan Project. Three years before Einstein died, he was asked to be Israel's 2nd President, but declined due to age. The periodic table's 99th element, discovered shortly after his death in 1955, was named "einsteinium". Princeton University's Fine Hall has inscribed Albert Einstein's words: "God is clever, but not dishonest."

Susan B. Anthony, whose face is on a U.S. dollar coin, died MARCH 13, 1906.

Raised a Quaker, her father owned a cotton mill and refused to buy cotton from farmers who owned slaves. Susan B. Anthony's religious upbringing instilled in her the concept that every one is equal before God and motivated her to crusade for freedom for slaves and a woman's right to vote. Opposing liquor, drunkenness and abortion, Susan encountered mobs, armed threats, objects thrown at her and was hung in effigy.

After the Civil War, Susan B. Anthony worked hard for the passage of the 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments. She succeeded in having women admitted to the University of Rochester and was arrested for voting in the 1872 Presidential Election.

Fourteen years after her death, women won the right to vote. Quoted in The Revolution, July 1869, Susan B. Anthony stated: "I deplore the horrible crime of child-murder...No matter what the motive, love of ease, or a desire to save from suffering the unborn innocent, the woman is awfully guilty who commits the deed. For Congress to guarantee a right to health care, or any other good or service, whether a person can afford it or not, it must diminish someone else’s rights, namely their rights to their earnings. The reason is that Congress has no resources of its very own. Moreover, there is no Santa Claus, Easter Bunny or Tooth Fairy giving them those resources. The fact that government has no resources of its very own forces one to recognize that in order for government to give one American citizen a dollar, it must first, through intimidation, threats and coercion, confiscate that dollar from some other American. If one person has a right to something he did not earn, of necessity it requires that another person not have a right to something that he did earn.

To argue that people have a right that imposes obligations on another is an absurd concept. A better term for new-fangled rights to health care, decent housing and food is wishes...

Juliette Low began the Girls Scouts, MARCH 12, 1912, in Savannah, Georgia.

Chronic ear infections as a child made one ear deaf. A grain of rice thrown at her wedding lodged in her other ear, which was punctured by the procedure to remove it.

Juliette Low's father, a U.S. Army General, was previously a Civil War Confederate captain. In the Spanish-American War, Juliette Low and her mother organized a convalescent hospital for wounded soldiers returning from Cuba.

After her husband's death in 1905, Juliette Low traveled to England where in 1911 she met Boar War hero Sir Robert Baden-Powell, founder of the Boy Scouts. They were engaged to be married, but the wedding was cancelled.

Returning to America, Juliette Low founded Girl Guides. Dying of breast cancer in 1927, she was buried in her uniform. The Girl Scout oath was "On my honor, I will try: to do my duty to God and my country, to help other people at all times, to obey the Girl Scout laws."

In 1995, Patti Garibay, a former Girl Scout leader, founded the family-friendly American Heritage Girls, serving thousands of girls with troops in over 32 states. The American Heritage Girls' Oath is "I promise to love God, Cherish my family, Honor my country, and Serve in my community."

Charles Sumner: 3/11/1874

Ben Franklin was the first president of the first anti-slavery society in the United States. Richard Bassett, a Signer of the Constitution, converted to Methodism, freed all his slaves and paid them as hired labor. John Quincy Adams fought to end slavery by removing Congress' Gag Rule. It was Senator Charles Sumner's vehement stand against slavery that resulted in Congressman Preston S. Brooks of South Carolina violently beating Sumner on the head with a cane while he was seated at his desk on the floor of the U.S. Senate.

Charles Sumner died MARCH 11, 1874, having never fully recovered from those injuries. A founder of the Republican Party, Charles Sumner served as a Senator from Massachusetts for 23 years. He stated: "Familiarity with that great story of redemption, when God raised up the slave-born Moses to deliver His chosen people from bondage, and with that sublimer story where our Saviour died a cruel death that all men, without distinction of race, might be saved, makes slavery impossible." Charles Sumner continued: "There is no reason for renouncing Christianity, or for surrendering to the false religions; nor do I doubt that Christianity will yet prevail over the earth as the waters cover the sea."

If the Senate bill isn't stopped in the House over the next two weeks, there's every reason to believe these stipulations and more will become the law of the land:

1) Spends Way Too Much: $2.5 trillion over the first ten years that the plan is fully implemented

2) Raises Taxes During a Recession: Hikes taxes $493 billion with new levies on so-called “Cadillac” plans, a new Medicare payroll tax on higher-income earners, and taxes on health insurance and drug manufacturing companies, which are sure to be passed on consumers in the form of higher premiums

3) Individual Mandate: Requires individuals to carry health insurance or exacts a fine up to $750

4) Business Burdens: taxes employers with more than 50 full-time workers if they are not offered insurance. CBO estimates employers would opt to drop as many as 5 million workers from private insurance, and pay the fine instead of maintaining current coverage

5) Huge Medicaid Expansion: an estimated 40 percent expansion of the entitlement program would greatly increase costs for government and taxpayers. States would be forced to manage the increased load. However, the federal government would pick up a large share of the new cost

6) Insurance Companies can still Limit Benefits: Although one of the prime reasons for this entire effort was to force insurance companies to live up to their commitments, the Senate bill would only ban lifetime-benefit caps. Insurance companies can still invoke yearly limits that will have essentially the same effect

7) Bad for Seniors: Cuts $120 billion from Medicare Advantage, which CBO says will result in fewer seniors with access to vision, dental and flu shots. Ultimately, up to 2.6 million seniors could lose their Medicare Advantage coverage

8) More Bureaucracy: Creates comparative effectiveness panels, a Medicare Advisory Board and a Health Care Commissioner, all of whom would be responsible for oversight of the greatly-expanded government role in health care and invoking rationing in attempts to contain cost

9) Doesn’t Tackle Tort Reform: Despite the president’s commitment to lower medical liability costs, the bill only contains a “Sense of Senate” provision, with no real reforms that could save up to $54 billion over ten years

10) Auto-Enrollment: Businesses with more than 200 workers will be required to automatically enroll employees in health coverage

Charter to Pennsylvania: 3/10/1681

26-year-old William Penn received from King Charles II the charter to Pennsylvania on MARCH 10, 1681, as repayment of a debt owed to his deceased father Admiral Sir William Penn, who captured Jamaica and defeated the Dutch navy.

A student at Oxford, William Penn was expelled for having his own prayer services in his dorm room instead of attending the Anglican chapel. Penn converted to Quakerism and was imprisoned in the Tower of London. His colony was a "holy experiment" for persecuted Europeans, one of the few original colonies to accept Mennonites, Amish, Catholics and Jews.

Emphasizing his plan of Christian tolerance, William Penn named the city "Philadelphia," Greek for "Brotherly Love." History records that since William Penn insisted on treating the Delaware Indians honestly, paying a fair sum for the land, Philadelphia was spared the Indian attacks and scalpings that other colonial settlements experienced.

Before arriving, William Penn wrote to the Delaware chiefs: "My Friends, There is one...God...and He hath made...the king of the country where I live, give...unto me a great province therein, but I desire to enjoy it with your...consent, that we may always live together as...friends."

While American politicians and intellectuals have not reached the depths of tyrants such as Lenin, Stalin, Mao and Hitler, they share a common vision...

Tyrants denounce free markets and voluntary exchange. They are the chief supporters of reduced private property rights, reduced rights to profits, and they are anti-competition and pro-monopoly. They are pro-control and coercion, by the state.

These Americans who run Washington, and their intellectual supporters, believe they have superior wisdom and greater intelligence than the masses. They believe they have been ordained to forcibly impose that wisdom on the rest of us. Like any other tyrant, they have what they consider good reasons for restricting the freedom of others.

A tyrant's primary agenda calls for the elimination or attenuation of the market. Why?

Markets imply voluntary exchange and tyrants do not trust that people behaving voluntarily will do what the tyrant thinks they should do. Therefore, they seek to replace the market with economic planning and regulation, which is little more than the forcible superseding of other people's plans by the powerful elite.

We Americans have forgotten founder Thomas Paine's warning that 'Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state, an intolerable one.'

The Central Economic Fallacy of the Century

Unfortunately, society’s intellectual, political, and economic “mainstream” still accepts what should be called the Central Economic Fallacy of the Twentieth Century. The “mainstream” just doesn’t get it. Thus, we continue to see a basic progression. First, government subsidizes x or regulates y to correct for some government-diagnosed problem z. Unwanted side effects result, and z, assuming it exists, often grows worse. Government intervenes again to fix the side effects and redouble its efforts to battle z. More undesirable side effects result. And the process continues, with government growing inexorably as interventions accumulate. More and more of the economy is micromanaged through increasing webs of subsidy, regulation, and quick fix. The Confederate iron-plated ship Merrimac destroyed two Union boats during the Civil War. The Union responded with the ironclad Monitor.

Dedicating a statue to the Monitor's designer, John Ericsson, May 29, 1926, President Calvin Coolidge stated: "When the ironclad Merrimac went out on the morning of MARCH 9, 1862, to complete its work of destruction it was at once surprised by this new naval innovation...After a battle lasting four hours in which the Monitor suffered no material damage...the Merrimac...badly crippled, withdrew, never to venture out again...

The London Times stated that the day before this battle England had 149 first-class warships. The day after she had but two, and they were iron-plated only amidships. Naval warfare had been revolutionized."

When offered payment in 1882, John Ericsson replied: "Nothing could induce me to accept any remuneration for the Monitor...it was my contribution to the glorious Union cause...which freed 4 million bondsmen." The three-masted frigate USS Constitution is the oldest commissioned ship in the world still afloat. It fought the Muslim Barbary Pirates of North Africa in 1803, sailed against the British in the War of 1812, and caught slave traders off the coast of Africa in the 1850's.

The U.S.S. Constitution was saved from being broken into scrap by a poem titled "Old Ironsides," written by Oliver Wendell Holmes. "Her deck, once red with heroes' blood, Where knelt the vanquished foe, When winds were hurrying o'er the flood, And waves were white below..."

Holmes' son, Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr., was born MARCH 8, 1841. A graduate of Harvard, he fought in the Civil War, edited the American Law Review and was a Harvard Law professor before becoming Chief Justice of Massachusetts' Supreme Court.

In 1902, Theodore Roosevelt appointed Holmes to the U.S. Supreme Court. Known as "The Great Dissenter" for of his unconventional opinions, Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr., served over 30 years, to a more advanced age than any other Justice. He replied to a reporter, on his 90th birthday, MARCH 8, 1931: "Young man, the secret of my success is that at an early age I discovered I was not God."

Regarding the upcoming U.S. Census...

Suppose you suggest to a congressman that given our budget crisis, we could save some money by dispensing with the 2010 census. I guarantee you that he'll say something along the lines that the Constitution mandates a decennial counting of the American people and he would be absolutely right. Article I, Section 2 of our Constitution reads: 'The actual Enumeration shall be made within three Years after the first Meeting of the Congress of the United States, and within every subsequent Term of ten Years, in such Manner as they shall by Law direct.'

What purpose did the Constitution's framers have in mind ordering an enumeration or count of the American people every 10 years? The purpose of the headcount is to apportion the number of seats in the House of Representatives and derived from that, along with two senators from each state, the number of electors to the Electoral College.

The Census Bureau tells us that this year, it will use a shorter questionnaire, consisting of only 10 questions. From what I see, only one of them serves the constitutional purpose of enumeration -- namely, 'How many people were living or staying at this house, apartment or mobile home on April 1, 2010?' The Census Bureau's shorter questionnaire claim is deceptive at best. The American Community Survey, long form, that used to be sent to 1 in 6 households during the decennial count, is now being sent to many people every year.

Here's a brief sample of its questions, and I want someone to tell me which question serves the constitutional function of apportioning the number of seats in the U.S. House of Representatives: Does this house, apartment, or mobile home have hot and cold running water, a flush toilet, a bathtub or shower, a sink with a faucet, a refrigerator, a stove? Last month, what was the cost of electricity for this house, apartment, or mobile home? How many times has this person been married?

After each question, the Bureau of the Census provides a statement of how the answer meets a federal need. I would prefer that they provide a statement of how answers to the questions meet the constitutional need as expressed in Article I, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution. ... Americans need to stand up to Washington's intrusion into our private lives. ... Unless a census taker can show me a constitutional requirement, the only information I plan to give are the number and names of the people in my household.

The American people are on to politicians and they don’t like what they see. And what they see is a daily diet of talking points that are only 1% solutions at best to their 100% problems. A diet that consists of ideological issues of small versus big government, socialism versus capitalism, deficits versus surpluses, entitlements versus privatization, job losses versus job creation and a whole host of peripheral issues that aren’t of the slightest interest to average Americans.

What the average American wants is a better standard of living for himself and his family and a way to achieve the American Dream of financial independence. Unfortunately they got a Democrat who promised to fulfill those dreams but turned out to be a tax and spend socialist who can only deliver what he steals from the rich and productive elements of society. He turned out to be a one-trick pony just like all totalitarian-socialist dictators are.

So how do we heal the nation?

The Democrats claim to socially represent the underdog in America but in reality tax them unmercifully with payroll, sales, energy, property taxes and in some cases income taxes. Tax them to the point they can’t save a dime. The Republicans, on the other hand, support the rule of the jungle – survive on your own or die. Neither party has done anything significant in decades to elevate the prospects of the underclass.

The Democrats promote bigger government to impose their policies; Republicans pretend to champion small government. However, to really understand how to heal society we have to contend with the libertarians – they want no government control of any aspect of the citizen’s life. And that is the building as well as the stumbling block to crafting a solution for our national problems.

As a starting point let’s take aspects of the Democrat and Libertarian views and compromise. The Democrats want the common man to thrive (those Democrats, Socialists, Communists that are really interested in delivering the “common good”) so let’s privatize payroll taxes and give each taxpayer back the 15.3% in taxes he pays. That will satisfy the Libertarians too – it will get the government out of the individual American’s business.

However, the Democrat will rightly point out that ordinary Americans are not prepared to invest in their future and in most cases will spend all that 15.3% currently and not save a dime. Eventually they will become a ward of the state and make the privatization of their payroll taxes a useless exercise.

This is where the Libertarian will have to compromise with the Democrat and restrict the individual from spending that money during his lifetime and put it in a non-governmental trust to accumulate and compound into a sizeable nest egg for retirement. Although the taxpayer can’t use the money before retirement, it is his and no one else’s.

Now having done the “common good”(satisfying the Democrat) and freed the individual from confiscation by the state (satisfying the Libertarian) – the Republicans and their capitalism come into play. By privatizing the $1.3 trillion in annual payroll taxes and investing them in the stock market the economy will explode and send the market indexes like the DOW and the S&P 500 right through the roof.

Tens of millions of jobs will be created by the private sector.

More importantly the people will have a Congress that worked for them. The average household at today’s prices will accumulate a $4 million nest egg at retirement and $33,000 a month retirement check. Today the average American can look forward to a monthly Social Security check of $1,300 and no nest egg whatsoever.

Now there are those that say the market is too risky – “look what happened to the DOW”. It is down to 10,000 from a high of 14,142. What these critics forget is that a 40-year investment started 40 years ago with the DOW at 800. The average rate of return is approximately 10% per year for 40-year cycles since 1871. So much for “risk”

Then they will say we can’t afford to pay off everyone under the old programs. That is nonsense. Privatizing these programs will generate enormous economic activity and increase “income tax” receipts to the point the excess generated can pay off older participants within three years. Remember privatizing will immediately extinguish today’s $111 trillion of unfunded debt upon enactment.

With one national pension plan the cities, counties, states and the federal government will be free of those costs and able to survive the current bankruptcies they have created. Look – instead of a $15,000 Social Security pension the average household would be looking at a $400,000 a year pension. Even those government employees that enjoy $100,000 a year pensions would greatly benefit by privatization.

Boston Port Act: 3/7/1774

On MARCH 7, 1774, the British passed the Boston Port Act, closing the harbor to all commerce to punish the colonists for the Boston Tea Party. Surrounding towns rallied by sending food.

William Prescott, who later commanded at Bunker Hill, wrote: "Providence has placed you where you must stand the first shock...If we submit to these regulations, all is gone."

William Prescott continued: "Our forefathers passed the vast Atlantic, spent their blood and treasure, that they might enjoy their liberties, both civil and religious, and transmit them to their posterity...Now if we should give them up, can our children rise up and call us blessed?"

Upon hearing of the Boston Port Act, the Virginia House of Burgesses stated May 24, 1774: "This House, being deeply impressed with apprehension...from the hostile invasion of the city of Boston in our Sister Colony of Massachusetts Bay, whose commerce and harbor are, on the first day of June next, to be stopped by an armed force, deem it highly necessary that the said first day of June be set apart, by the members of this House, as a Day of Fasting, Humiliation and Prayer, devoutly to implore the Divine interposition, for averting the heavy calamity which threatens destruction to our civil rights."

3/6/1776

25-year-old Colonel Henry Knox unbelievably moved 59 cannons 300 miles from Fort Ticonderoga to Boston. On the night of March 4, 1776, with wagon wheels wrapped in straw to muffle the noise, the cannons were strategically put on Dorchester Heights overlooking Boston Harbor.

The next morning, British troops were shocked. On MARCH 6, 1776, General Washington ordered: "Thursday...being set apart by...this Province as a day of fasting, prayer and humiliation, 'to implore the Lord and Giver of all victory to pardon our manifold sins and wickedness, and that it would please Him to bless the Continental army with His divine favor and protection,' all officers and soldiers are strictly enjoined to pay all due reverence on that day to the sacred duties of the Lord of hosts."

On March 17, amidst a violent storm, British General Howe evacuated his ships and 3,000 men from Boston. General Washington wrote to his brother, John Augustine Washington, March 31, 1776: "Upon their discovery of the works next morning, great preparations were made for attacking them; but not being ready before the afternoon, and the weather getting very tempestuous, much blood was saved and a very important blow...prevented. That this most remarkable Interposition of Providence is for some wise purpose, I have not a doubt."

"Once Upon a Crime"

(Tale of a "flawed" birth certificate now threatening our Constitution and Country)

A long time ago, about one and one half years or so, I received an e-mail questioning the authenticity of a Hawaiian birth certificate which Barack Obama had posted on the "Daily Kos" website to silence claims that he might not be eligibile to seek the Presidency of the United States.Was this the "transparency" he promised America? It seemed so until questioners pointed out that his posted document (which I've seen and copied),titled "Certification of Live Birth" (COLB) had the birth certificate number blacked out, contained no birth hospital name, attending physician's name, birth witnesses name,etc. All required information....and all missing! This was "transparency"?

Article II,Section 1 of The Constitution states "no person except a natural-born citizen of the United States at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President..." The only Hawaiian document conferring natural-born status was a Certificate of Live Birth, which would have all the above missing information on it. A "Certification of Live Birth" (COLB) only confers, at best, a naturalized citizenship status. Obama, a Constitutional scholar, was obviously aware of this and knew that he could not allow the Hawaiian Dept.of Hospitals original birth certificate to be seen for if it agreed (which he so claimed) with the COLB he had posted on Daily Kos he was thereby ineligible to seek the Presidency; hence, a reason for his spending (to date) an estimated two-million dollars in legal fees to prevent disclosure! Imagine-if it was a true "Certificate of Live Birth" he would have posted it immediately, not substitute a false or limited document in its place, unless he was hiding something incriminating.

Seeking Truth-Are We Asking Too Much?

Copies of my letters which questioned Obama's eligibility went to all on my e-mail list and to those specifically quoted or referred to in those letters. Below, following each quote or reference, are my comments and any response received.

A federal judge, James Robertson (U.S.District Court-Wash.D.C.),throwing out one lawsuit stated Obama's citizenship was "thoroughly vetted and massaged by America's vigilant citizenry during his two year Presidential campaign". Nonsense! In truth, then-Senator Obama had his attorneys block the release of any documents which might have confirmed (or denied) his eligibility. The judge's above statement was completely false since he and the rest of America never had access to these documents. Also, candidates are not vetted by "America's vigilant citizens". The Constitution spells out the requirements and procedure.

The Judge's response: SILENCE

Bill O'Reilly of Fox News told his national audience that Fox could have easily obtained a copy of Obama's Original birth certificate from the Health Dept. Not true! I wrote to him that this was a completely false statement since the records were sealed from public access. He never retracted this falsehood....never advised his audience that he had misinformed them. Lawyers presently arguing cases on this issue could have enlightened him had he asked. He also refused to explain why Fox never attempted to secure or view a copy of the Original birth certificate. That would have been the obvious action to expect from Fox.

O'Reilly's response: SILENCE--both toward me and, more importantly, toward his viewers and listeners.

Glenn Beck of Fox News said "birthers believe Obama's KGB Control may have put his birth announcement in 1961 Hawaiian newspapers with a roadmap of getting an African man into office." A funny but meaningless comment. I had written him that Hawaii automatically notified newspapers of reported new births and individuals could also place birth announcements. Remember, securing a U.S. naturalized citizenship status for one's baby had many advantages for later on but eligibility to seek the Presidency was not one of them. Beck also considered anyone questioning Obama's eligibility as "dumb". Are the plaintiffs and lawyers "dumb"? Are the judges presently hearing legal challenges also "dumb" for so doing? I also advised him that "we are speaking about Presidential eligibility, an issue which our Founders felt important enough to become the second article in our Constitution-not a footnote or suggestion!

Beck's response: SILENCE

The U.S. Supreme Court received copies of all these letters, covering Obama's refusal to allow release of his Hawaiian Hospital certificate of live birth, his 1981 Passport to Pakistan,Occidental College entrance records, his disdain for our Constitutional requirements and for the servicemen and women who risked their careers through lawsuits which simply asked Obama to confirm his eligibility. So serious is this issue that I sent five copies of each relevant letter to each of the nine members of the Court-forty five copies in all.

The Court's response: SILENCE-not one member even acknowledged receipt of my letters. How sad....earlier I had asked "If the Supreme Court ignores this issue what need have we for a Supreme Court?" Has their silence answered that question?

Halt: Who Goes There?

If the above-challenge was given by sentries to the three million members of the U.S.Military worldwide and required a true original birth certificate be produced, only one person, I repeat, one person would refuse to produce it, as he has refused every previous request....Barack Obama, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. How can anyone fail to realize the implication of such a refusal?

REFLECTIONS FOR THOSE WHO DISMISS CHALLENGES TO OBAMA'S ELIGIBILITY

REFLECTION: Obama knowingly posted a limited or a false COLB on a website, claiming that the Hospital copy matched his. If so, that would have made both documents COLB'S and Obama a "naturalized" citizen at best. Once challenged, however, he realized the implication and immediately refused any access(to date) to the Hospital copy. Why? If it was a true "Certificate of Live Birth" at worse it would make his initial claim of being identical to his copy false but it would not make him ineligible for the Office. If,however, it was not a "Certificate of Live Birth"....need I continue?

REFLECTION: Whenever Obama's attorneys appeared in court to defend him they never once offered a Certificate of Live Birth to prove his eligibility, instead claiming Plaintiff's or Courts had no "standing" on the issue. Would they use this defense if Iran agreed to discuss nuclear disarmament with Obama but insisted that he first provide a valid "Certificate of Live Birth" to confirm his right to speak for our divided Nation?

REFLECTION: When an active, decorated Army Officer went to court, refusing transfer to Afghanistan until Obama produced a valid "Certificate of Live Birth" to silence the many lawsuits challenging his eligibility, the officer risked a military trial and possible imprisonment yet Obama, rather than resolving this issue, sent lawyers to court to prevent disclosure of his Birth Certificate. Think about it-any document which could and should corroborate his eligibility he keeps hidden from view! Do we really need the proverbial house to fall upon us?

REFLECTION: Just the other day Fox News called itself "the most trusted name in News." May viewers and listeners ask Fox why it hasn't reported on any of the previous or current eligibility lawsuits. Ignoring all mention of them is truly "unfair and unbalanced", especially for a News Organization. Incidentally, the rest of the News Media is so quiet on this issue they make a "silent" movie film seem deafening by comparison.

REFLECTION: Millions are clamoring for Obama to produce a valid Certificate of Live Birth yet, at a recent meeting he asked that people stop asking for it. What a pathetic response to a burning issue.

REFLECTION: Obama has never, I repeat, never been "vetted". Remember, the birth certificate which he put on a website was not a Certificate of Live Birth and was obviously a deliberate deception on his part since he knew it would not justify his eligibility.

REFLECTION: The passport used by him to enter war-ridden Pakistan in 1981 was not a U.S.passport since U.S.passports were not issued in 1981 to regular American citizens. Also, his school and medical records,etc.were all blocked by him from public access.

REFLECTION: Who would spend over 2 million dollars in legal fees rather than simply produce a legitimate Certificate of Live Birth when seeking the office of President, unless the Certificate would confirm not his eligibility but his ineligibility?

REFLECTION: The U.S.Senate "vetted"John McCain yet later refused to "vet" Barack Obama when requested to by Republicans.

REFLECTION: Some argue that if the lawsuits presently in various courts force Obama to release documents confirming that he is not a "natural-born" American citizen there will be riots in the streets if he is removed from Office. Why, I ask, if he obtained the Office unlawfully by deception or fraud, should he be re-warded with the prize he unlawfully sought? Are Truth and Honesty no longer desired attributes in a candidate? In 1973 some members of the Supreme Court voted to permit the killing of innocent children in the womb while other members today are more concerned about riots in the streets. How ironic-the first group didn't fear God's anger while the second group fears Man's!

REFLECTION: If the withheld documents would truly confirm Obama's eligibility, as his supporters contend, why won't any member of the Democratic Party suggest their release to the public? The answer is obvious.

REFLECTION: When Obama defenders claim eligibility arguments are racially motivated consider that Alan Keyes, a black man who is a former presidential candidate, instituted a lawsuit against Obama,charging he is not a "natural-born" citizen. Is Keyes racially motivated-think about it?

REFLECTION: Other issues, such as Obama's possible British, Kenyan or Indonesia citizenship are being addressed by many others, adding to this list against someone who has given a new meaning to the word 'TRANSPARENCY'.

CONCLUSION:

I have been writing for 18 years regarding Catholic teaching. A few people have inquired if I have gone "political" recently by writing about Obama's eligibility. As I responded to them I now respond to present readers.

My "eligibility" writing is driven by our Constitution for without it we will invite anarchy. Until Obama satisfactorily addresses all the unanswered issues his legitimacy cannot be blindly presumed.

HOW TO CALL THE POLICE WHEN YOU'RE OLD AND DON'T MOVE FAST ANYMORE.

George Phillips , an elderly man, from Meridian, Mississippi, was going up to bed, when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window. George opened the back door to go turn off the light, but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things.

He phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?"

He said "No," but some people are breaking into my garden shed and stealing from me.

Then the police dispatcher said "All patrols are busy. You should lock your doors and an officer will be along when one is available."

George said, "Okay."

He hung up the phone and counted to 30.

Then he phoned the police again.

"Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people stealing things from my shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them now because I just shot them." and he hung up.

Within five minutes, six Police Cars, a SWAT Team, a Helicopter, two Fire Trucks, a Paramedic, and an Ambulance showed up at the Phillips' residence, and caught the burglars red-handed.

One of the Policemen said to George, "I thought you said that you'd shot them!"

George said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!"

Boston Massacre: 3/5/1770

Colonists were forced to house British soldiers. On MARCH 5, 1770, a crowd protested and in the confusion British soldiers fired, killing five, one being Crispus Attucks, the most famous African-American who participated in the Revolution.

Paul Revere's popular engraving of the Boston Massacre fanned flames of anti-British sentiment. Joseph Warren, the President of the Massachusetts Congress who sent Paul Revere on his midnight ride, stated on the 2nd anniversary of the Massacre, 1772: "If you perform your part, you must have the strongest confidence that the same Almighty Being who protected your pious and venerable forefathers...will still be mindful of you...May our land be a land of liberty...until the last shock of time shall bury the empires of the world in one common undistinguishable ruin!"

John Hancock, first to sign the Declaration of Independence, stated on the 4th anniversary of the Boston Massacre, 1774: "Let us play the man for our GOD, and for the cities of our GOD...By a faithful discharge of our duty to our country, let us joyfully leave her important concerns in the hands of HIM who raiseth up and putteth down empires and kingdoms of the world as HE pleases."

Until 1937, MARCH 4th was Inauguration Day.

Each President acknowledged faith upon assuming office, for example, President John Adams in 1797 gave: "Veneration for the religion of a people who profess and call themselves Christians...to consider a decent respect for Christianity among the best recommendations for the public service."

In 1809, President James Madison referred to the: "Guidance of that Almighty Being." President John Quincy Adams stated in 1825: "'Except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh in vain.'" In 1841, President William Harrison said: "I deem the present occasion sufficiently important...in expressing to my fellow citizens a profound reverence for the Christian religion." President Franklin Pierce, in 1853, stated: "There is no national security but in the nation's humble, acknowledged dependence upon God." President James Buchanan, 1857, said: "Cultivate peace...with all nations...in a spirit of Christian benevolence." In 1861, Abraham Lincoln wrote: "Intelligence, patriotism, Christianity, and a firm reliance on Him who has never yet forsaken this favored land, are still competent to adjust in the best way all our present difficulty." President Calvin Coolidge said in 1925: "America...cherishes no purpose save to merit the favor of Almighty God."

If one uses the simple inferential rule of forensic investigations, namely, that hoodlums never fear but what they believe to be the truth, Herlihy’s “fears” in 2006 and her connections to Obama through her law firm would tend to give credence to the inference that Obama’s colleagues in law believed in 2006 that he was a foreigner and thus ineligible to be president, or at least that he’d be seen as such if he ran. Given that Obama is a British citizen, that is understandable; seeing that it appears he and his co-grandmother claimed he was born in Mombassa, Kenya, that might have more to do with it. Obama has still refused to answer Congressman Nathan Deal’s request for his birth certificate and other documentation requested in early December 2009, and there remains much evidence that Obama is a foreign national.

This 4th verse of the National Anthem inspired Congress, MARCH 3, 1865, to place the motto on the nation's coins. House Speaker Schuyler Colfax noted: "The last act of Congress ever signed by President Lincoln was one requiring that the motto...'In God We Trust' should hereafter be inscribed upon all our national coin."

Truman stated October 30, 1949: "When the U.S. was established...the motto was IN GOD WE TRUST. That is still our motto and we still place our firm trust in God."

JFK stated February 9, 1961: "The guiding principle of this Nation has been, is now, and ever shall be IN GOD WE TRUST."

Reagan stated March 19, 1981: "Our Nation's motto...reflects a basic recognition that there is a divine authority in the universe to which this nation owes homage."

The Texas Declaration of Independence: 3/2/1836

The Alamo mission at San Antonio was in its 7th day of being assaulted by thousands of Santa Anna's troops. By the 13th day, Santa Anna's "take-no-prisoner" policy had all 189 defenders killed, including Jim Bowie and former U.S Congressman Davy Crockett. The only Texas army left in the field was Col. James Fannin's. It departed Goliad to rescue the Alamo but was surrounded in open ground and captured. Santa Anna ordered all 350 prisoners executed. When the Mexican officer hesitated, Santa Anna sent another officer who carried out the order. Had Fannin's troops been left in prison, Texas would have been disheartened, but instead Santa Anna's cruelty aroused world outrage.

The Texas Declaration of Independence, signed MARCH 2, 1836, stated: "General Antonio Lopez Santa Anna...demanded us to deliver up our arms, which are essential to our defense-the rightful property of freemen-and formidable only to tyrannical governments...has, through its emissaries, incited the merciless savage, with the tomahawk and scalping knife, to massacre the inhabitants of our defenseless frontiers...We fearlessly...commit the issue to the...Supreme Arbiter of the destinies of nations."

A recent study at the Yale University Infant Conition [sic] Center reminds us that we are created to show and receive kindness. In the study, researchers had babies—ranging in age from six to ten months—watch a wooden toy try to climb to the top of a roller-coaster incline. As the toy climbed, some toys came along to help it over the top, while others came along to push it back down. Then the babies were given the chance to play with any of the toys. Almost every child chose the toys that had helped!

We are created in the image of a kind God. That means we are drawn to kindness—and even search for it—from the time we are very young. We never lose our need for kindness, but as adults we sometimes value ambition and prestige more. Particularly in the business world, it can be easy to forget that our minds and emotions were made to respond to kindness, not harshness.

When we act kindly toward others, they will be drawn to us and to God. That's why being kind is so energizing. When we are kind, we are acting as we were created to act.

What "reconciliation" actually IS

"For those not versed in the arcane rules of the U.S. Senate, reconciliation is not what a divorced couple attempts when they visit Dr. Phil. It is a mechanism for avoiding filibusters on certain budgetary issues. If Democrats can find a way to apply it to health care reform, they could pass a bill with just 51 votes, negating the election of Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown and the loss of the 60-seat supermajority.

Reconciliation was established in 1974 to make it easier for Congress to adjust taxes and spending in order to 'reconcile' actual revenues and expenditures with a previously approved budget resolution. Thus, at the end of the year, if Congress found that it was running a budget deficit higher than previously projected, it could quickly raise taxes or cut spending to bring the budget back into line. Debate on such measures was abbreviated to just 20 hours (an eyeblink in Senate terms), and there could be no filibuster.

As Robert Byrd, (D-W.V.), one of the original authors of the reconciliation rule, explained, 'Reconciliation was intended to adjust revenue and spending levels in order to reduce deficits ... [I]t was not designed to ... restructure the entire health care system.' He warns that using reconciliation for health care would 'violate the intent and spirit of the budget process, and do serious injury to the Constitutional role of the Senate.'

In fact, in 1985, the Senate adopted the 'Byrd rule,' which prohibits the use of reconciliation for any 'extraneous issue' that does not directly change revenues or expenditures. Clearly, large portions of the health care bill, ranging from mandates to insurance regulation to establishing 'exchanges,' do not meet that requirement."

Articles of Confederation: 3/1/1781

What was the government in the United States before the U.S. Constitution was written? It was the Articles of Confederation, ratified by the States MARCH 1, 1781. Signed by such statesmen as John Hancock and Samuel Adams, it was an attempt to loosely knit the thirteen States together.

The Articles of Confederation declared: "Whereas the delegates of the United States of America in Congress assembled did on the fifteenth day of November in the Year of Our Lord 1777, and in the second year of the independence of America agree on certain Articles of Confederation and perpetual union between the States...The said states hereby severally enter into a firm league of friendship with each other, for their common defense, the security of their liberties, and their mutual and general welfare, binding themselves to assist each other, against all force...or attacks made upon them...on account of religion, sovereignty, trade, or any other pretense." The Articles end with the line: "It has pleased the Great Governor of the World to incline the hearts of the Legislatures we respectively represent in Congress, to approve of and to authorize us to ratify the said Articles of Confederation."
