CALIFORNIA: OBAMACARE TURNING CANCER PATIENTS AWAY

There are two reasons patients will be turned away: one that President Barack Obama hid, and one that he lied about.

ObamaCare Will Bring Bureaucracy, Endless Rules And Coercion, But Improve Nothing

So good luck retaining any meaningful doctor-patient confidentiality in a system in which more people — insurers, employers, government commissars, TSA Obergropinfuhrers, federal incentive-program auditors — will be able to access your medical records than in any other nation on earth.

No foreigner can even understand the American "health care" debate, which seems to any tourist casually surfing the news channels to involve everything but health care. Since World War II, government medical systems have taken hold in almost every developed nation, but only in America does the introduction of governmentalized health care impact small-business hiring practices and religious liberty, and require 16,500 new IRS agents and federal bonuses for contributing to a national database of seat-belt wearers.

Thus, Big Government American-style: Byzantine, legalistic, whimsical, coercive, heavy on the paperwork, and lacking the one consolation of statism — the great clarifying simplicity of universal mediocrity.

ObamaCare governmentalizes one-sixth of the U.S. economy — or the equivalent of the entire French economy. No one has ever attempted that before, not even the French. In parts of rural America it will quickly achieve a Platonic perfection: there will be untold legions of regulators, administrators and IRS collection agents, but not a doctor or nurse in sight.

Obama’s Electronic Medical Records Scam

Here’s more evidence that government “cures” are inevitably worse than the “diseases” they seek to wipe out. Buried in the trillion-dollar stimulus law of 2009 was an electronic medical records “incentive” program. Like most of President Obama’s health care rules, this top-down electronic record-sharing scheme is a big fat bust.

Oversight is lax. Cronyism is rife. The job-killing and privacy-undermining consequences have only just begun.

Obamacare starts to hurt

As of Monday [10/1;12], Medicare will start fining hospitals that have too many patients readmitted within 30 days of discharge due to complications. The penalties are part of a broader push under President Barack Obama's health care law to improve quality while also trying to save taxpayers money.

About two-thirds of the hospitals serving Medicare patients, or some 2,200 facilities, will be hit with penalties averaging around $125,000 per facility this coming year, according to government estimates.

Oh...and before I forget:

Of the 20 new or higher taxes in Obamacare, below are the 5 worst that will be foisted upon Americans for the first time on January 1, 2013:

The Obamacare Medical Device Tax – a $20 billion tax increase

The Obamacare “Special Needs Kids Tax” – a $13 billion tax increase

The Obamacare Surtax on Investment Income – a $123 billion tax increase:  This is a new, 3.8 percentage point surtax on investment income

The Obamacare “Haircut” for Medical Itemized Deductions – a $15.2 billion tax increase

The Obamacare Medicare Payroll Tax Hike -- an $86.8 billion tax increase

Elderly women are being denied life-saving breast cancer surgery that is routinely given to younger patients, alarming research reveals.

Some doctors look at a patient’s age in their notes – and decide on a treatment plan before they have even met them, experts warn.

Their study, which provides evidence of ageism in the Health Service, found that 90 per cent of breast cancer patients aged 30-50 are offered surgery to remove tumours, compared with 70 per cent of those in their seventies.

Cuts Leave Patients With Medicaid Cards, but No Specialist to See

NEW YORK TIMES:
My Medicaid card is useless for me right now. It's a useless piece of plastic. I can't find an orthopedic surgeon or a pain management doctor who will accept Medicaid.
NICOLE R. DARDEAU, a nurse in Opelousas, La., who needs surgery for herniated discs in her neck...
How can an already overtaxed Medicaid system handle such a huge influx of people?
asked Dr. Michael A. Felton, a family doctor in Church Point, La., near Lafayette. It is a question being asked in many states.

Conservatives: Dick Morris reminds us what we need to do now

Republicans need to remind America that the huge increases they are now paying in their health insurance are concrete evidence of the impact of the mandates in Obamacare. They need to point out that the $500 billion in Medicare cuts are coming and that, already, reductions in physician fees are driving thousands of doctors to close their doors to Medicare patients. The Republicans need to explain how Obamacare creates an entirely new entitlement and will swell the deficit.
Awake Ye Conservatives!

Nearly two-thirds of U.S. doctors surveyed fear healthcare reform could worsen care for patients

"When asked about the quality of healthcare in the U.S. over the next five years, 65 percent of the doctors believed it would deteriorate with only 18 percent predicting it would improve," Thomson Reuters, parent company of Reuters, said in a statement.

BEFORE YOU VOTE NOVEMBER 2nd

LISTEN TO DR. DAVID JANDA - HEALTH CARE ANALYST - OCTOBER 13, 2010:

OBAMACARE (passed March, 2010) was actually created in two parts: The first part was hidden 600 pages deep inside the stimulus bill and provides for a Federal Coordinating Council for COMPARATIVE EFFECTIVENESS RESEARCH (which determines the cost of treatments divided by the number of expected remaining life years) and was funded for 1.1 billion taxpayer dollars. It also provided for 15-members of a rationing board to be appointed by President Obama...which he did within three days of passing the stimulus bill.

To facilitate and cement the implementation of OBAMACARE, a multi-billion dollar center was created to implement decisions out of a coordinating council supervised by the National Coordinator for Health which will determine your treatment at the time and place of care (think: operating room for example).

Starting January 1, 2013, your doctor's nurse/assistant will send diagnoses via a handheld device in the operating room and any doctor not determined to be a "meaningful user of system over time" will face the following penalties.

1st offense (implementing a treatment not approved by the government): $100,000.00 fine.

2nd offense: jail.

Given that there will now be 32 million more patients flooding into the health care system, and given the above new rules whereby the government and not your doctor will determine (based in part on how long you have left to live) your treatment, surveys by the Journal of the American Medical Association and the New England Medical Journal report that approximately 46% physicians are going quit to quit the practise of medicine in the United States.

Real hope in the fight against Obamacare

This is not pie-in-the-sky stuff, this is about serious people with very serious ideas:

First, this is about a candidate running in the Republican primary for Congress in the 3rd District of Massachusetts:
Stopa is not your typical candidate. Stopa is a Physicist specializing in computation and nanoscience in the Physics Department at Harvard University, and director of the National Nanotechnology Infrastructure Network Computation Project. So let's just say the guy pays attention to details.

One of the details on which Stopa has focused is the repeal of Obamacare, using Massachusetts' experience with Dukakiscare as a model...
The Massachusetts Model For Dismantling Obamacare

Secondly, on August 25th in the Wall Street Journal, Grace-Marie Turner (president of the Galen Institute) explained the specifics of how a Republican Congress could begin the process of repealing Obamacare in Putting the Brakes on Obamacare

And third: Yesterday, Dr. Hal Scherz (a pediatric urological surgeon at Georgia Urology and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta who also serves on the faculty of Emory University Medical School) explains how he and his colleagues at http://docs4patientcare.org/ are enlisting thousands of doctors in an unorthodox and unprecendented action! (Hint: this will drive Obama and his cohorts absolutely CRAZY :-)

No, You Can't Keep Your Health Plan!

WSJ:
President Obama guaranteed Americans that after health reform became law they could keep their insurance plans and their doctors. It's clear that this promise cannot be kept. Insurers and physicians are already reshaping their businesses as a result of Mr. Obama's plan.
Insurers and doctors are already consolidating their businesses in the wake of ObamaCare's passage

This makes me so angry. Conservatives knew that Obama was either outright lying or just plain stupid. We tried to convince every stubborn, gullible Democrat not to support this plan but they all refused (and still do) to listen to us about Obamacare and now everyone is going to suffer. I have the greatest primary care physician and he has his own practice (The Center for Integrative Medicine) and if I lose this doctor because of them and their ridiculous wonder boy, I will spend the rest of my life working to get them out of this country.

Obamacare will pack 32 million newly insured people into emergency rooms already crammed beyond capacity, according to experts on healthcare facilities

A chief aim of the new healthcare law was to take the pressure off emergency rooms by mandating that people either have insurance coverage. The idea was that if people have insurance, they will go to a doctor rather than putting off care until they faced an emergency.

People who build hospitals, however, say newly insured people will still go to emergency rooms for primary care because they don’t have a doctor.

“Everybody expected that one of the initial impacts of reform would be less pressure on emergency departments; it’s going to be exactly the opposite over the next four to eight years,” said Rich Dallam, a healthcare partner at the architectural firm NBBJ, which designs healthcare facilities.

“We don’t have the primary care infrastructure in place in America to cover the need. Our clients are looking at and preparing for more emergency department volume, not less,” he said.

Some Democrats agree with this assessment.

Can the federal government dictate how doctors treat their patients?

From WSJ:
Eighteen states are challenging the constitutionality of the Obama health law. Their challenge focuses on whether the federal government can require everyone to buy coverage. They gloss over an issue more consequential to our health and longevity: Can the federal government dictate how doctors treat their patients?
