COMPARE PROPOSALS to REPLACE THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT
Republicans will say to Democrats, "Help us create the new insurance system or be responsible for the consequences." Some are saying the Democrats won't cooperate. Here is why they will. In 2018, there are 23 Democratic and two Independent Senators (who caucus with the Dems) that will be up for reelection––a great many in states that Donald Trump won last night! There is a clear mandate here to replace Obamacare. If these Democrats fight it and that arguably results in millions of people thrown off their coverage they will do so at their peril.READ MORE
The best news here is that defunding and then replacement of Obamacare could ironically set the table for the first real bipartisan legislative effort in a very long time. The one we should have had in the first place.
Paul Ryan should never have become Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. He's just the new rat who took over from former crook, Johnny Wino Boehner. Paul Ryan is a dirty operator who has NEVER introduced a single bill to cure the cancers eating away at our economy, the illegals invasion, unconstitutional spending or anything else. Paul Ryan is owned by the anti-American U.S. Chamber of Commerce and corporate America. Yet, he is leading a perfectly good challenger in his primary race by a 93%-7% margin. That primary is August 7th.READ MORE
What in the hell is the matter with the people in Paul Ryan's district? I can tell you. They have NO understanding of key issues like the disabilities of our monetary system, what 'free' trade has done to this country, why Muslims should never have been allowed in this country (nothing to do with bigotry), the true nature of the federal 'income' tax and where it goes plus much more. One of the reasons I wrote my new book, Taking Politics Out of Solutions, coming out in a few weeks. If Paul Ryan supporters read my book they would run Ryan out of town on a rail.
It wasn't bad enough Paul Ryan wouldn't endorse Trump immediately following Trump's victory going over the top to obtain the required number of delegates, but his latest threat is simply extraordinary...

"The chief problem of American political life for a long time has been how to make the two Congressional parties more national and international. The argument that the two parties should represent opposed ideals and policies, one perhaps, of the Right and the other of the Left, is a foolish idea acceptable only to doctrinaire and academic thinkers. Instead the two parties should be almost identical, so that the American people can "throw the rascals out" at any election without leading to any profound or extensive shifts in policy. The policies that are vital and necessary for America are no longer subjects of significant disagreement, but are disputable only in details of procedure, priority, or method .....Then it should be possible to replace it, every four years if necessary, by the other party, which will be none of these things but will still pursue, with new vigor, approximately the same basic policies.Paul Ryan is carrying out the agenda of global elites that will destroy this country. Trump says no, we're not going to take it anymore. How about you?
I know that every campaign promise Barack Obama makes has an expiration date … but this is ridiculous. The confetti is barely off the floor at the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, North Carolina after Obama’s acceptance speech, and already we find out that he’s flip-flopped.Surprise! Progressive bloggers and TV personalities are up in arms about Paul Ryan’s speech at the Republican National Convention last night. Several of their accusations revolve around Paul Ryan’s own fiscal record, and his description of President Obama’s. I asked my liberal friends on Twitter to send me an itemized list of Ryan’s alleged lies, and they kindly obliged. So far, Ryan appears to have the better of the argument.READ MORE
Why does Paul Ryan scare the president so much? Because Obama has broken his promises, and it’s clear that the GOP ticket’s path to prosperity is our only hope.READ MORE
All of the facts are against Obama/Biden, and Mitt Romney chose a running mate who is very, very accomplished at communicating these facts. Paul Ryan is a walking, talking 5-Hour Energy Drink of concise and compelling arguments about the future. The MSM ignoring those facts, calling him "radical," are the Geoffrey Dawsons of our era, and even as Dawson campaigned in the Times of London against Churchill throughout the '30s, so they are covering for a deeply disingenuous president and party. It won't work. Your reading this post is itself an example of why it won't.READ MORE
I’ll happily declare interest behind my enthusiasm for Paul Ryan: he’s read my Reagan and Churchill books. And I’ve seen him up close and in person displaying his facility with the deeper principles of the American Founding, and his (correct) perception of how the Progressive Era represents the decisive break in American political thought. In this respect he has more depth than Reagan. Forget the budget issues for a moment–Ryan represents the most serious national challenger to the essential premises of the Left since Calvin Coolidge.
Ryan said that the principle of subsidiarity — a notion, rooted in Catholic social teaching, that decisions are best made at most local level available — guided his thinking on budget planning.READ MORE
“To me, the principle of subsidiarity, which is really federalism, meaning government closest to the people governs best, having a civil society … where we, through our civic organizations, through our churches, through our charities, through all of our different groups where we interact with people as a community, that’s how we advance the common good,” Ryan said.
The Wisconsin Republican said that he also drew on Catholic teachings regarding concern for the poor, and his interpretation of how that translated into government policy.
“[T]he preferential option for the poor, which is one of the primary tenants of Catholic social teaching, means don’t keep people poor, don’t make people dependent on government so that they stay stuck at their station in life, help people get out of poverty out onto life of independence,” said Ryan.
Official calculations show that Medicare has $34 trillion less than it needs to keep all its promises to seniors. Yet ObamaCare will take $500 billion out of Medicare over 10 years to cover 30 million uninsured Americans.Medicare’s least bad fix
Basic arithmetic suggests that this would hasten the demise of the program. Not so, according to President Obama. He says he’ll squeeze out savings by cutting reimbursement to providers. ObamaCare will create something called the Independent Payment Advisory Board, composed of 15 experts. Their job will be to hold down spending by identifying reimbursement cuts, and their recommendations will be binding on Congress. If this board recommends what many fear it will, Medicare’s reimbursement rates will drop below Medicaid’s, which will mean that doctors will turn away seniors like they do the poor. In effect, in addition to an early death option, ObamaCare offers seniors diminished access to quality care. If this is compassion, give me cruelty.
RyanCare is not perfect, but at least it won’t rob Grandma Millie to buy Cousin Joe coverage.
It is hard to imagine how a president could give a more mean-spirited and less substantial speech on a grave national crisis than Obama delivered today. Obama appears to be a man who understands little or nothing about business or the economy. For him, partisan politics is everything. We saw that today. It was a sad moment for our country.Obama Channels Ted Kennedy
Over the next decade the cuts are expected to save hundreds of billions of dollars.
The deal mandates a host of studies and audits of Obama administration policies. It also blocks additional funds for the IRS sought by the Obama administration and bans federal funding of abortion in Washington, D.C.
The history of offers on this bill goes something like this. Democrats first offered no cuts, then $4 billion, then $6.5 billion, then $33 billion, then settled at $38.5 billion.
Boehner made numerous adjustments to his offer in recent days too, but started at $32 billion, then with a Tea Party push went to $62 billion, then dropped to $40 billion, then $38.5 billion.
Democrats claimed they met Republicans halfway after the $10 billion in cuts that already passed this year were approved. They settled late Friday night at three and a half times more.
Boehner came in $8.5 billion higher than the halfway point between his high offer of $61 billion in cuts and the Democrats opening bid of zero cuts.
It was not a totally lopsided bargain. Dems have some silver linings. There were no votes on defunding the EPA or PBS and NPR. Democrats fought for and won a $2 billion cut from the Department of Defense, knocking the military appropriation for the rest of the year down to $513 billion.
But the GOP had to be able to see this as a win in the end, because it is puny compared to what they want to do next.

"You're looking at me as though I'm weird. My god! Are you so out of touch with most of America, most of which believes in the devil? I mean, Jesus Christ believed in the devil! It's in the Gospels! You travel in circles that are so, so removed from mainstream America that you are appalled that anybody would believe in the devil! Most of mankind has believed in the devil, for all of history. Many more intelligent people than you or me have believed in the devil."
