Before you drop your luggage and hop into bed, this man has an important tip that you should consider! Jim Dill from the University of Maine, shares all of the tips and tricks of spotting bed bugs before you cozy into your new room. The first thing you need to make a habit of is storing your bags in the bathtub or shower before you check for bedbugs. You don't want the little pests crawling on your luggage and taking a free trip back to your home to collenate!
Then you'll move onto the bed. Use a blacklight to peek behind the bed, around headboard and on nearby furniture like nightstands and lamps. Now you can remove the sheets and check the wire lining of the mattress itself. You'll also need to check the mattress pad (if there is one) and in between the sheets. Another bedbug hotspot is the luggage rack - so make sure to check it with the blacklight as well! These little-known tips will help prevent bedbug infestations from spreading and will give you peace of mind when it's time to go to sleep!
