Plain and simple: the public has been repeatedly told the most outrageous and unbelievable things (as in they do not believe them when they hear them)

Did you know that Obama knew about the Lockerbie bomber every step of the way?

Or that
1. Cutting $500 billion from Medicare will not hurt care or cut benefits for seniors.

2. Spending $1 Trillion will save money.

3. Spending $1 Trillion will not increase the deficit.

4. If you like your plan you can keep it, except in five years every insurance plan design for everyone will be dictated by the federal government design requirements.

5. You can buy any insurance plan from any insurer you want. But you can only buy the government designed, government approved plans — its like saying you can buy the same house from any builder, but the builders all have the same set of plans and can only sell that house.

6. This is not a government take-over of the health care sector.

7. There will not be any rationing.

8. Campaign promises made explicitly by the President that he would not cut any deals with “the drug companies” only to do exactly that in return for Phrma spending million in ads to prop up the sagging ObamaCare this summer.

9. Abortion is not a covered benefit (despite the fact that the Democratic House pro-life leaders say it covers abortion, and more than 20 Democrats have told their leadership in writing that they will not vote for any bill that covers abortion.)

10. Seniors will not be steered in the direction of dying to save money — but most of the public knows that the most expense in health care is in the last six months of life — making seniors think Obama’s promises sound hollow. Seniors, it turns out, do not want the government to make the decision about when that last six months starts.

11. The President is against a single payer system and ending employer provided health care. All those videos of the President saying that he is for a single payer system and for ending employer provided health care, well, they are “misleading.”

12. Except that your employer may decide to put you in a government designed plan, so your employers will be taxed less than it costs to give you your insurance. Your employer will save money by putting you in the government-run Health Information Exchange — and you can never leave!

13. This bill’s purpose is insure the uninsured and do “insurance reform.”

14. President Obama promised no mandate in his health plan, but it has an individual mandate and an employer mandate.

15. If you don’t buy health insurance and you earn more than $19,000, you will be taxed 2.5 percent of your total income. The no tax increase pledge for families earning $250,000 or less does not apply, of course, to ObamaCare.

And I could have sworn I heard that Obama didn't know anything about Van Jones...or William Ayers...or Jeremiah Wright...

OOPS: Major school systems won't be open when Obama speaks to kids~

Wonder if national health care will be managed as well as this little debacle? (Or Cash-for-Clunkers for that matter.)
The lesson here is that the political ear that warns of potential mis-steps in a campaign is not the same one that works once you are elected and have to make the thousand decisions that come with daily governance of a central government that long ago become far too big and expansive to be effectively managed.

Is Obama Going To Nationalize 401k Plans?

I've started developing an Obamanation hair-trigger response system and my red alerts buttons started flashing when I saw this at Politico today:

Obama: Plan for upping savings rate

It didn't take but a minute to find this:

Democrats in the U.S. House have been conducting hearings on proposals to confiscate workers’ personal retirement accounts — including 401(k)s and IRAs — and convert them to accounts managed by the Social Security Administration

And this:

This proposal is in the 2010 Budget and may be a start of a Government take over of the American 401k and Retirement Account system. Obama is giving retirement, IRA, and 401k savers something to monitor closely. . .As you can see. Your 401k plan offers you a drastically higher return than Obama would give you at 3%. The nationalization of the nations retirement system could cost you a pretty penny.

It's not JUST Obama that's the problem. It's the whole machine behind him funded by George Soros. They've hijacked the old Democratic Party and, believe me, they will not stop until every last thing you own (including your children) belong to them. Get them all out now if you want any kind of freedom and automony in your lives.

Is John Mackey really evil?

I just happened to see this link on Drudge: "Capitalism Is Evil," says new Michael Moore film and it got me started thinking about the CEO and founder of Whole Foods Market John Mackey.

I love Whole Foods and have shopped there for many years. In fact, when I used to work at Universal Studios (I was there for a total of 16 years) I had once thought of moving to an apartment in Sherman Oaks within walking distance of the market (this was sometime around 1982-1986). Since my husband was recently put on a gluten-free diet, we shop there even more!

Anyway, I discovered that Mr. Mackey has been a fan of Ayn Rand as I was, In fact, I read "Atlas Shrugged" four times in the 1960's. And, I used to be a libertarian as he once was (I even ran for California State Senate as a Libertarian in 1998).

Now, if you read the following interview from several years ago, you will see a very thoughtful man who does not limit himself the way Michael Moore does. Instead of wasting his time and money on angry, hateful, finger-pointing and non-productive endeavors, Mr. Mackey provides a wonderful, healthful resource for people (especially those with special diet and health needs) and treats his customers and employees and business partners with dignity and respect. OMG! Doesn't that violate the whole radical left thing? You know, the one that needs to change the WHOLE system because this country is so rotten?

Interview with Whole Foods’ John Mackey

April 2, 2006
We’ve mentioned before that Whole Foods CEO John Mackey is a fan of Ayn Rand’s novels. Today I stumbled across an interview with Mackey (actually, because the interviewer had linked to our blog) from last year.

In the interview, Mackey discusses his enjoyment of Ayn Rand’s writings, his experiences with libertarians, and why he no longer considers himself a libertarian, per se.
And don't forget Mr. Mackey's creative contribution to the healthcare debate (you know, the ideas that made those "tolerant" leftists start a boycott against the market) The Whole Foods Alternative to ObamaCare

In a sane world, Mr. Mackey would be considered a shining example of what Capitalism offers to a free and productive society. But in the hate-filled world of the radical left (who have infected the Democratic Party) he is the enemy.

God help us all.

Beverly Hills psychiatrist calls Obama administration "High School Student Government from Hell"

Dr. Jory F. Goodman, M.D.
The Constitution, Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights; our history and traditions, protocol and respect, even common courtesy are out. It's as if Hunter Thompson and Timothy Leary munched on a peyote pie as they read Marx, Engels and Alinsky to one another in pig Latin; Gracie Slick wailed White Rabbit and a montage of all of the worst direct to video horror and teen movies played backwards and someone transcribed it word for word.

Aaron Klein, Jerusalem bureau chief for WND.com, broke the first major story on Van Jones

In a post yesterday I praised God and thanked Glenn Beck for getting this self-avowed Communist, radical, and 9/11 Truther out of our government...but I forgot all about WorldNetDaily!
In April, Aaron Klein, Jerusalem bureau chief for WND.com, broke the first major story on Jones who was identified as a self-described radical communist and "rowdy black nationalist" who said his environmental activism was actually a means to fight for racial and class "justice."

Succeeding revelations by WND included:

Back on June 8th Barack Obama promised to speed up the Stimulus projects over the summer and to "create or save" 600,000 jobs.

Van Jones: The Last Straw

RADICAL. ANTI-AMERICAN. ANTI-ISRAEL: Van Jones has a past as a record producer. That's right; his "civil rights" group, the Ella Baker Center, produced a handful of CDs between 2002 and 2006. One of them, which appears to have been made around 2002, "starred" convicted murderer Mumia Abu-Jamal, who presumably recorded his portions of the album in prison.

UPDATE: ...and as of late Saturday night, this crude, self-righteous bigot is no longer part of the United States government! Praise God and thank Glenn Beck.

Obama Regulation Czar Advocated Removing People’s Organs Without Explicit Consent

(CNSNews.com) – Cass Sunstein, President Barack Obama’s nominee to head the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA), has advocated a policy under which the government would “presume” someone has consented to having his or her organs removed for transplantation into someone else when they die unless that person has explicitly indicated that his or her organs should not be taken.

Under such a policy, hospitals would harvest organs from people who never gave permission for this to be done.

Outlined in the 2008 book “Nudge: Improving Decisions About Health, Wealth, and Happiness,” Sunstein and co-author Richard H. Thaler argued that the main reason that more people do not donate their organs is because they are required to choose donation.

Dr. Strangelove meets Olympia Snowe

This Republican-In-Name-Only keeps turning up in all the wrong places. I cannot tell you how much she disgusts me.
"The cybersecurity threat is real," said Leslie Harris, president of the Center for Democracy and Technology, which obtained the draft of S. 773, "but such a drastic federal intervention in private communications technology and networks could harm both security and privacy."

Jennifer Granick, civil liberties director at the Electronic Frontier Foundation, told Mother Jones the bill was "contrary to what the Constitution promises us." According to Granick, granting the Commerce Department oversight of "critical" networks such as banking systems would grant the government access to potentially incriminating information without cause or warrant, a violation of the Constitution's prohibition against unlawful search and seizure.

Like the health care bill, there are several versions of S. 773; what people have seen is vaguely written. The bill does not clearly define what a cyberemergency or critical network is. Nor does it explicitly define the powers of the president in such an emergency or what he is prevented from doing. That is left up to the administration in power.

Shocking video: what's REALLY going on in your kids' schools

This gave me chills...and I couldn't watch it a second time. Parents: please wake up and get mad!

FOR PARENTS WITH KIDS IN SCHOOL

Please read: From the Department of Education

I happened to catch brilliant African-American economist Thomas Thowell on the radio this morning and, regarding Obama's speech to the kids on Tuesday, September 8th he said he was immediately reminded of Hitler's Youth and that "all the dictators want to get their hands on the kids!"

Obama's speech: White as Snowe

In my book, this is called a TROJAN HORSE:
The White House is holding intensive talks with Maine Sen. Olympia Snowe, a moderate Republican, about Ms. Snowe's proposal to use the public plan as a fallback option, aides familiar with the conversations said.

The overhaul under discussion would include a requirement for most individuals to buy insurance; a federally operated exchange where individuals and small businesses could buy insurance; and tax credits to help people buy plans. Ms. Snowe believes that is enough to create a competitive market that drives down prices.

But if prices don't fall by a certain percentage and coverage doesn't expand beyond 95% in a given state after a time, the plan would call for adding a government insurance option to that state's choices, according to the aides familiar with the White House conversations.

Obama's Katrina

Glenn Beck did a segment that included this last night...it affects everyone because of what it's going to do to food prices. It's also one of the best examples of why you DON'T want government to be big, controlling, or instrusive...this will break your heart with it's hair-pulling stupidity...no, inhumanity!
The issue now turns to the Obama Administration and the courts, though the farmers have so far found scant hope for relief from the White House. In June, the Administration denied the governor's request to designate California a federal disaster area as a result of the drought conditions, which U.S. Drought Monitor currently lists as a "severe drought" in 43% of the state. Doing so would force the Administration to acknowledge awkward questions about the role its own environmental policies have played in scorching the Earth.

Another lesson that federal guarantees aren't free...

Americans are about to re-learn that bank deposit insurance isn't free, even as Washington is doing its best to delay the coming bailout. The banking system and the federal fisc would both be better off in the long run if the political class owned up to the reality.

We're referring to the federal deposit insurance fund, which has been shrinking faster than reservoirs in the California drought.

Canada's Health Care Lottery

Why aren’t there more family-practice physicians? Canada’s provincial governments had to cut their spending on health care, which drove the doctors out of the system. Thanks to a lack of competition, no other supply can come to market, which eventually leads to this kind of rationing. A lottery is only slightly more arbitrary than any other bureaucratic mechanism.
