Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. said that climate-related issues are being “exploited” by wealthy individuals in a bid to enact “totalitarian controls” over society.

“Climate issues and pollution issues are being exploited by … mega billionaires” like Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, Kennedy told radio host Kim Iversen over the past weekend. “The same way that COVID was exploited to use it as an excuse to clamp down top-down totalitarian controls on society and then to give us engineering solutions.”

“And if you look closely, as it turns out, the guys who are promoting those engineering solutions are the people who own … the patents for those solutions,” Kennedy said during Iversen’s show. “It’s a way they’ve given climate chaos a bad name because people now see that it’s just another crisis that’s being used to strip mine the wealth of the poor and to enrich billionaires.”

“I, for 40 years, have had the same policy on climate and engineering,” said Kennedy, the scion of former Attorney General and New York Sen. Robert F. Kennedy. “You can go check my speeches from the 1980s, and I’ve said the most important solution for environmental issues [is] not top-down controls, it’s free market capitalism.”

The Daily Jot's Top Story of 2018   Monday, December 31, 2018 Ezekiel 8:7-9 describes how the Lord directed the prophet Ezekiel to look beyond the walls of the Temple to see the truth: "and he brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold a hole in the wall. Then said he unto me, Son of Man, dig now in the wall: and when I had dug in the wall, behold a door. And he said unto me, Go in, and behold the wicked abominations that they do here." In Mark 3:23-24, Jesus said, "How can Satan drive out Satan? If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand." These two sets of scripture are indicative of the two top stories of 2018, which is really one story with two related parts.    The mainstream news media, a minion of Marxist-inspired globalist politicians and their billionaire corporate sponsors, employs a craft of using a small ingredient they call truth mixed with propaganda to feed the world a diet of brainwashing misinformation. The news media is complicit in giving this revolution a platform. We see it with the revolutionaries' visceral attacks on anyone who disagrees with their positions and the media's amplification of these assaults. These revolutionaries believe that their moral opinions justify breaking the law, fomenting violence, lying and bullying. These actions are seeded in political intolerance and ideological bigotry, and they are not going to go away any time soon. These are the days of great deception and unrest in America because a major political party is become the haven of unrest and revolution. A recent Gallup poll confirms the direction of this civil unrest.   For the first time since Gallup began polling the question in 2010, the Democratic Party favors socialism over capitalism by a significant margin. Gallup reports that 57% of Democrats surveyed had a positive view of socialism, while only 47% had a positive view of capitalism. This is the first time since this question has been asked that a majority of those associated with the Democratic Party did not favor capitalism over socialism. Contrast this with those who associate with the Republican Party where only 16% have a positive view of socialism and 71% have a positive view of capitalism. Gallup statistics confirm that the Democratic Party is turned toward socialism.    Moreover, the youth of this country are steaming toward socialism irrespective of party affiliation. Gallup reports: "Americans aged 18 to 29 are as positive about socialism (51%) as they are about capitalism (45%). This represents a 12-point decline in young adults' positive views of capitalism in just the past two years and a marked shift since 2010, when 68% viewed it positively." The brand of socialism these people support is undoubtedly deeper than an economic debate over socialism vs. capitalism. This trend is particularly dangerous to religious freedom and freedom of speech. The ideological bigotry practiced by America's vocal socialists is targeted at anyone who suggests a Biblical moral code for society.    Progressivism, socialism, communism will end religious freedom in America because these forms of tyranny are based in the Communist Manifesto, which states: "Communism abolishes eternal truths, it abolishes all religion, and all morality, instead of constituting them on a new basis." Christians who believe socialism is true Christianity cite Acts 2:44, "And all that believed were together and had (shared) all things in common," as Biblical justification. Early Christians lovingly had all things in common-they were not forced to do so by a government. The very nature of communism is against God. For those of you keeping track, the Democrats and their allies on the left have now: voted in the Senate to repeal the First Amendment, proposed imprisoning people for holding the wrong views on global warming, sought to prohibit the showing of a film critical of Hillary Rodham Clinton, proposed banning politically unpopular academic research, demanded that funding politically unpopular organizations and causes be made a crime and that the RICO organized-crime statute be used as a weapon against targeted political groups. They have filed felony charges against a Republican governor for vetoing a piece of legislation, engaged in naked political persecutions of members of Congress, and used the IRS and the ATF as weapons against political critics.

On the college campuses, they shout down unpopular ideas or simply forbid nonconforming views from being heard there in the first place. They have declared academic freedom an “outdated concept” and have gone the full Orwell, declaring that freedom is oppressive and that they should not be expected to tolerate ideas that they do not share. They are demanding mandatory ideological indoctrination sessions for nonconforming students. They have violently assaulted students studying in libraries and assaulted student journalists documenting their activities. They have staged dozens of phony hate crimes and sexual assaults as a pretext for persecuting unpopular organizations and people.

What they cannot achieve by legislation or litigation, they seek to achieve by simple violence, left-wing activists having smashed, looted, and burned portions of Ferguson, Mo., and Baltimore, where Koreans and other Asian minorities were specifically targeted. As on college campuses, they have made a point of assaulting journalists documenting their violence. They have rioted in Philadelphia and in other cities.

Fourteen Signposts to Slavery

Historian Dr. Warren Carroll and Mike Djordjevich, a refugee from communist Yugoslavia, together compiled a list of what they described as “Fourteen Signposts to Slavery,” warning signs that our government might be slipping into totalitarianism.

Author Gary Allen included the list in his landmark 1971 book “None Dare Call It Conspiracy ”. He noted that none of the items listed were in effect at the time the list was compiled, but some had been put into place as of the writing of the book, and the alarms that are set off are even more relevant today than they were in the early seventies.

Allen wrote “The imposition of any one of these new restrictions on liberty would be a clear warning that the totalitarian state is very near; and once a significant number of them – perhaps five has been imposed, we can rationally conclude that the remainder would not be far behind and that the fight for freedom and the preservation of the Republic has been lost to this country.”

We can hope that actual nature of the reality is less grim than his evaluation as by my count, we have exceeded that total already.

The dirty secret about being in power is that you can only claim to be the authorities when the people willingly comply. The laws you enact must be reasonable and acceptable to the masses, because non-compliance breeds contempt for the law and authority. No regime can claim to be in control when the common citizens regard them as a joke.

What brought down the Soviet regime? First they made promises they couldn’t keep. They taxed and spent with no regard of their national debt. The citizens realizing there was no point in hard work began to slack off (go Galt). In whispers, hushed tones and written on bathroom walls, the people began to mock the ruling regime. Contempt for authority grew like weeds, the black market flourished. Eventually the rulers could no longer sustain the illusion that they were in control.

The more people who laugh at the king and his men behind their backs, the more the king’s authority shrinks until, like Assad in Syria or Gahddafi [Libya] or Saddam Hussein [Iraq] he finds himself the ruler of nothing but the hole he’s hiding in.
