Marxist socialists were sure that, if they could only control the money, they'd create a paradise on earth. Hitler's socialists were sure that, if they could only control race, they'd create a paradise on earth. The Islamicists are convinced that, if they can only control religion, they'll create a paradise on earth.

Because they are failed, ALL of them must control language.

The Democrats are convinced that, if they can only control all the money, races and religions, THEY'LL create a paradise on Earth.

They, too, desperately need to control what people are allowed to say.

Meanwhile, the CLOSEST man has ever come to paradise in all of human history is the nation that, in its very constitution, rejects government control of money (property), race (all men are created equal) and religion.

It is the one that specifically provides for freedom of speech.

The conservatives seek to conserve this constitution and do so through the Republican party. The Leftists have taken the worst of every evil ideology the world has ever known and combined it to create the Democratic party.

This truly is the ultimate battle in the war of good versus evil.

It is more than plausible to assert that Duranty’s coverage of The Holodomor contributed to the death count. By spinning the myth that there was no famine, and publishing that myth in a paper of record, Duranty and The New York Times were complicit in enabling intentional “murder by starvation.”

Denial of the Holodomor continues to be pushed by Russian propaganda media to this day. It is part of the information war, as Russia instigates military violence in Ukraine.

This was the consequence of an apologist masquerading as an investigative journalist – using PR spin to cover a murderous dictator’s crimes.

Whatever the internal forces were that allowed Duranty’s stories to be published, The New York Times bears this historical accountability. They wear the scar of enabling an apologist.

They were Stalin’s co-conspirators, and the Holodomor’s blood is on their hands for all eternity.

The Daily Jot's Top Story of 2018   Monday, December 31, 2018 Ezekiel 8:7-9 describes how the Lord directed the prophet Ezekiel to look beyond the walls of the Temple to see the truth: "and he brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold a hole in the wall.  Soft tyranny and you

The government has set a standard of tyranny against you that those who disagree with you can and will prevent you from having a job. Your free speech is OK so long as you keep it to yourself.  Do you ever feel like you have an opinion and yet uneasy about expressing it? Do you think that as a Christian, it is better to not express your views on morality in public forums? Have you felt any kind of reservation about what you do and say could be listened to by the government, so you watch your words? Are there just certain issues that you don't talk about much anymore because the response is so visceral and examples have been made of those who say something?  It's selective free speech. It's soft tyranny. 

Alexis de Tocqueville defines soft tyranny in his book Democracy in America, Volume II (1840): "It [the government] covers the surface of society with a network of small, complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence: it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd."

If you are afraid to speak your mind because of the consequences of perhaps losing your job, your livelihood, or that it may invite some government investigation or ruination, you are a victim of soft tyranny.  Galatians 5:1 says, "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." A free people can only exist by adhering to the precepts of God. Bondage is bondage, whether it is sin or tyranny. We live in a society where a very vocal minority is bullying your Constitutional rights. Moreover, eternally these people face great peril. Isaiah 5:20 says, "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness..." 

We must speak boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel. Even though many respond with hatred and accuse you based on the very intents of their own hearts, they will not know the truth unless someone tells them. We would not know sin had we not known the laws of God. Don't be a victim of soft tyranny. Right is greater than might. As Ephesians 6:12-13 says, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against power, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand." Soft tyranny is evil. Stand against it.

Wow. It’s one week before Election Day, the re-election of Obama is unthinkable, and the election is extremely close – every vote counts.

Against this backdrop, I am still seeing lots of articles and blog postings from self-described conservatives, Christians, constitutionalists, independents and patriots fervently proclaiming they will not vote for either Barack Obama or Mitt Romney, because they refuse to choose “the lesser of two evils.”

“The lesser of two evils is still evil,” they intone, as though those magical words encapsulate some transcendent logic.

Ironically, most of these people revere America’s Founding Fathers, quote them and refer to them often – indeed they see themselves as following in the founders’ footsteps, or at least adhering to their principles.

But in this they are profoundly deluded. For in reality, the Founding Fathers, by drafting, ratifying and implementing the Constitution of the United States, engaged in the most monumental example in American history of deliberately choosing the lesser of two evils.

Is John Mackey really evil?

I just happened to see this link on Drudge: "Capitalism Is Evil," says new Michael Moore film and it got me started thinking about the CEO and founder of Whole Foods Market John Mackey.

I love Whole Foods and have shopped there for many years. In fact, when I used to work at Universal Studios (I was there for a total of 16 years) I had once thought of moving to an apartment in Sherman Oaks within walking distance of the market (this was sometime around 1982-1986). Since my husband was recently put on a gluten-free diet, we shop there even more!

Anyway, I discovered that Mr. Mackey has been a fan of Ayn Rand as I was, In fact, I read "Atlas Shrugged" four times in the 1960's. And, I used to be a libertarian as he once was (I even ran for California State Senate as a Libertarian in 1998).

Now, if you read the following interview from several years ago, you will see a very thoughtful man who does not limit himself the way Michael Moore does. Instead of wasting his time and money on angry, hateful, finger-pointing and non-productive endeavors, Mr. Mackey provides a wonderful, healthful resource for people (especially those with special diet and health needs) and treats his customers and employees and business partners with dignity and respect. OMG! Doesn't that violate the whole radical left thing? You know, the one that needs to change the WHOLE system because this country is so rotten?

We’ve mentioned before that Whole Foods CEO John Mackey is a fan of Ayn Rand’s novels. Today I stumbled across an interview with Mackey (actually, because the interviewer had linked to our blog) from last year.

In the interview, Mackey discusses his enjoyment of Ayn Rand’s writings, his experiences with libertarians, and why he no longer considers himself a libertarian, per se.

And don't forget Mr. Mackey's creative contribution to the healthcare debate (you know, the ideas that made those "tolerant" leftists start a boycott against the market) The Whole Foods Alternative to ObamaCare

In a sane world, Mr. Mackey would be considered a shining example of what Capitalism offers to a free and productive society. But in the hate-filled world of the radical left (who have infected the Democratic Party) he is the enemy.

If the United States should unanimously resolve never more to use the sword, would a certified copy of it prove to be an effectual Mediterranean passport? Would it reform the predatory rulers of Africa, or persuade the successive potentates of Europe to observe towards us the conduct of real Christians? On the contrary, would it not present new facilities, and consequently produce new excitements, to the gratification of avarice and ambition?

It is true that even just war is attended with evils, and so likewise is the administration of government and of justice; but is that a good reason for abolishing either of them? They are means by which greater evils are averted. Among the various means necessary to obviate or remove, or repress, or to mitigate the various calamities, dangers, and exigencies, to which in this life we are exposed, how few are to be found which do not subject us to troubles, privations, and inconveniences of one kind or other. To prevent the incursion or continuance of evils, we must submit to the use of those means, whether agreeable or otherwise, which reason and experience prescribe.

However desirable the abolition of all wars may be, yet until the morals and manners of mankind are greatly changed, it will be found impracticable. We are taught that national sins will be punished, and war is one of the punishments. The prophets predict wars at so late a period as the restoration of the Israelites. Who or what can hinder the occurrence of those wars?

I nevertheless believe, and have perfect faith in the prophecy, that the time will come when “the nations will beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning-hooks; when nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.” But does not this prophecy clearly imply, and give us plainly to understand, that in the meanwhile, and until the arrival of that blessed period, the nations will not beat their swords into plowshares, nor their spears into pruning-hooks; that nation will not forbear to lift up sword against nation, nor cease to learn war?

It may be asked, Are we to do nothing to hasten the arrival of that happy period? Literally, no created being can either accelerate or retard its arrival. It will not arrive sooner nor later than the appointed time.
