BIG BIRD: The REAL canary in the coal mine

Many speakers emphasized that the Palestinian cause has been adopted wholesale by the Progressive movement; unfortunately, this has allowed Islamists to cloak their anti-liberal ideology and their not-very-well-hidden anti-Semitism in progressive garb, surrounded by eager progressive "allies." And Rep. Omar is only the tip of the spear. Her repeated, deliberate pushing of the boundaries of civil discourse cannot be tolerated, or else what will follow will be worse. If you don't agree, just listen to CAIR claim that supporters of AIPAC are foreign agents rather than good Americans, and imagine where that will lead.

There is a socio-political revolution occurring in America. The news media is complicit in giving this revolution a platform. We see it with the revolutionaries' visceral attacks on anyone who disagrees with their positions and the media's amplification of these assaults. These revolutionaries believe that their moral opinions justify breaking the law, fomenting violence, lying and bullying. These actions are seeded in political intolerance and ideological bigotry, and they are not going to go away any time soon. These are the days of great deception and unrest in America because a major political party is become the haven of unrest and revolution. A recent Gallup poll confirms the direction of this civil unrest.

For the first time since Gallup began polling the question in 2010, the Democratic Party favors socialism over capitalism by a significant margin. Gallup reports that 57% of Democrats surveyed had a positive view of socialism, while only 47% had a positive view of capitalism. This is the first time since this question has been asked that a majority of those associated with the Democratic Party did not favor capitalism over socialism. Contrast this with those who associate with the Republican Party where only 16% have a positive view of socialism and 71% have a positive view of capitalism. Gallup statistics confirm that the Democratic Party is turned toward socialism.

Moreover, the youth of this country are steaming toward socialism irrespective of party affiliation. Gallup reports: "Americans aged 18 to 29 are as positive about socialism (51%) as they are about capitalism (45%). This represents a 12-point decline in young adults' positive views of capitalism in just the past two years and a marked shift since 2010, when 68% viewed it positively." The brand of socialism these people support is undoubtedly deeper than an economic debate over socialism vs. capitalism. This trend is particularly dangerous to religious freedom and freedom of speech. The ideological bigotry practiced by America's vocal socialists is targeted at anyone who suggests a Biblical moral code for society.

Progressivism, socialism, communism will end religious freedom in America because these forms of tyranny are based in the Communist Manifesto, which states: "Communism abolishes eternal truths, it abolishes all religion, and all morality, instead of constituting them on a new basis." Christians who believe socialism is true Christianity cite Acts 2:44, "And all that believed were together and had (shared) all things in common," as Biblical justification. Early Christians lovingly had all things in common-they were not forced to do so by a government. The very nature of communism is against God. We'd better wake up and smell the coffee, starting with ongoing conversations with our families, children and grandchildren.
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Constitutional expert: ...we should “reject all administrative power” and “consider it the civil liberties issue of our time."

Peter Berkowitz is the Tad and Dianne Taube senior fellow at the Hoover Institution
The rise of progressivism and the growth of the administrative state go hand in hand. Administrative power is an anti-democratic and illiberal means by which intellectual elites and political professionals have transferred legislative and judicial power to bureaucrats insulated from democratic accountability.
From the conservative point of view, the Fourth Circuit’s blocking of Trump’s executive order illustrates the typical progressive attitude that formalities of law and constitutional government must yield to policies that advance progressive ends. The relentless growth of the regulatory and welfare state, according to the conservative critique, stems from progressives’ putting their partisan preferences ahead of the Constitution’s clear and explicit commands.

Legal scholar Philip Hamburger believes the conservative critique is nearer to the mark, even as it underestimates the invidious legal mechanisms by which the federal government regulates Americans’ lives and redistributes their wealth. In “The Administrative Threat,” a brisk pamphlet published by Encounter Books, he distills the central argument of his daunting 2014 scholarly work, “Is Administrative Law Unlawful?” His chief contention is that “administrative power evades governance through law and thereby circumvents constitutional process and procedural rights.” A professor at Columbia University Law School and perhaps the nation’s premier historian of the American constitutional tradition, Hamburger comes to the drastic conclusion that we should “reject all administrative power” and “consider it the civil liberties issue of our time.”

The first "progressive" generation: 85 Years Ago, Chesterton nailed the Boomers

HAT TIP: THE ANCHORESS
“A generation is now growing old, which never had anything to say for itself except that it was young. It was the first progressive generation – the first generation that believed in progress and nothing else…. [They believed] simply that the new thing is always better than the old thing; that the young man is always right and the old wrong. And now that they are old men themselves, they have naturally nothing whatever to say or do. Their only business in life was to be the rising generation knocking at the door. Now that they have got into the house, and have been accorded the seat of honour by the hearth, they have completely forgotten why they wanted to come in. The aged younger generation never knew why it knocked at the door; and the truth is that it only knocked at the door because it was shut. It had nothing to say; it had no message; it had no convictions to impart to anybody…. The old generation of rebels was purely negative in its rebellion, and cannot give the new generation of rebels anything positive against which it should not rebel. It is not that the old man cannot convince young people that he is right; it is that he cannot even convince them that he is convinced. And he is not convinced; for he never had any conviction except that he was young, and that is not a conviction that strengthens with years.”
- G.K. Chesterton, Illustrated London News of July 9, 1921
Gilbert Keith Chesterton, KC*SG better known as G. K. Chesterton, was an English writer, lay theologian, poet, philosopher, dramatist, journalist, orator, literary and art critic, biographer, and Christian apologist.

Free Speech in Peril

Myron Magnet, City Journal:
Well-funded Stasi-like groups such as UnKochMyCampus, reports the Wall Street Journal’s Kimberley Strassel, are already at work, seeking “trusted informants” among faculty and students to target and harass the few remaining conservative professors whose thought runs counter to “progressive values” and might “undermine environmental protection, worker’s rights, health care expansion, and quality education.”

FDR Invented The ‘Liar-In-Chief’ And Tore Down the Democrat Party And The Country

Progressivism depends upon diminishing the U.S. constitution, the cult of personality, and the idea that big government is the sole salvation of humanity.
PBS and documentary maker Ken Burns have done it again with a wonderful look at the political lives of Teddy and Franklin Roosevelt. But if the series did anything it revealed to a discerning viewer how Franklin rebuilt the presidency on a pillar of hate and lies and remade the Democrat Party into a party driven by purposeful misdirection and deceit.

Progressives Today

ProgressivesToday.com
Jim Hoft, the founder and proprietor of The Gateway Pundit, and Kyle Olson, the founder EAGnews.org have joined forces in a new online project “Progressives Today.”

Many Americans who consider themselves left of center have an antiquated sense of today’s Democrat party. This is not their father’s Democratic party. Democrats today are controlled by, and answer to, the most radical elements of their party. Yet, with cover generously provided by the mainstream media, progressives are able to push their influence in the shadows. And they have no shame.

Progressives Today follows and publicly exposes the radical elements of the institutional left. It will be the go to resource for all elements of the progressive movement through old school investigative journalism. We will cover their conferences with undercover reporters, we will interview their leaders, we will follow their writings, teachings, social media presence. Our goal is to finally hold the left accountable for their radical opinions, their destructive policies and their dangerous anti-American agenda.

One of the goals of PT, in addition to simply exposing progressives, is to expose their views to moderates and Democrats so that a choice must be made. It is our strong belief that, Progressives Today will cause many on the left to re-evaluate their political alliances.

Seattle is considering banning the words “brown bag” and “citizen” because the words offend black people and illegals...

Daniel Greenfield responds, “When Seattle one day gets around to banning all words, because language is inherently offensive to the illiterate, and everyone is reduced to communicating with grunts and emphatic gestures, an era of true tolerance and nomadic lifestyles will be upon us.” That is hilarious Daniel! The foundational philosophy of Common Core is to create students ready for social action so they can force a social-justice agenda.

For all intent and purposes, Common Core is nationalized education.
Common Core is not about students who actually have a grasp of the intricate facts of a true set of what E.D. Hirsch would call "core knowledge." Common Core is about, as David Feith would say "an obsession with race, class, gender, and sexuality as the forces of history and political identity." Nationalizing education via Common Core is about promoting an agenda of Anti-capitalism, sustainability, white guilt, global citizenship, self-esteem, affective math, and culture sensitive spelling and language. This is done in the name of consciousness raising, moral relativity, fairness, diversity, and multiculturalism.

And David Coleman's upbringing is in line with this Progressive worldview. . .

Nobody has made a rallying-cry of a movie that’s this effective in a long, long time...

Welcome to the racist gulag, the wet dream of people like Derrick Bell and Barack Hussein Obama

This is what the Cultural Marxists desire, a zombie nation, shuffling off to their government sponsored jobs, working for a government mandated “fair share” and shuffling back to their government assigned hovel to consume their government mandated meal of fried pink goo (supplied by an oligarch and produced by union workers) that contains the daily caloric content deemed by the government as your “fair share” of the collectives resources.

RUNAWAY SLAVE

THE MOVIE

Have blacks in America achieved the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and become truly “Free at Last?” This is the question recently tackled in the brave and powerful documentary Runaway Slave a new film which exposes the economic and social enslavement of the black community to the progressive policies of the US Government.

Rev. C. L. Bryant hosts the movie revealing the “new underground railroad” and the mindset of a cultural acceptance of entitlements and big government. Bryant’s own life provides unique insights into the racial and political issues of the day. A former Chapter President of the Garland, Texas NAACP, former democratic activist, and pastor; C. L. had a front row seat to the civil rights movement in the south. “There is a 50-year-old lie that has caused an entire people to become harlots to the political idea that government knows what is best.” says Bryant.

While Bryant’s compelling story launches the film, the plot is revealed as he travels the country interviewing people from every economic and social background. Dr. Alveda King, Economist Thomas Sowell, Florida Congressman Allen West, Presidential Candidate Herman Cain and Star Parker are a few of the people Bryant encounters on his trek through the new Underground Railroad in America.

Runaway Slave explores how despite the best efforts of the government and liberal political leaders, in exchange for their 95 percent support of Progressive policies, the Black community has 40 percent of its population on welfare, 72 percent of its children born out of wedlock and a 48 percent abortion rate. What is causing the black community to generate these kinds of statistics?

A history lesson not being taught in the public schools reveals the truth of legislation aimed at curbing and controlling the black population and the results that have kept them “on the government plantation.” The leaders of the black community point to the new overseers and the “tribal leader” tactics being employed to create a people group that is still being oppressed.

The black conservatives interviewed in Runaway Slave do not bow to political correctness. Their thoughts and experiences are laid bare for an audience hungry for the truth. Get on board the new Underground Railroad and meet those that are running away from slavery and tyranny towards the blessings of liberty and true freedom.

When the American church helped usher in Social Security, it abdicated its responsibility to care for the poor...

What is disturbing when reviewing the history of this time is how many Christian ministers defended the actions of government as fulfilling Holy Scripture's mandates to care for the poor, provide for parents in their old age and give to those who ask of you.

With this shift of thinking, the state began to function in roles once reserved for the church—to the detriment of any who would question the legitimacy of the legislation on theological grounds. The same reception awaits those in the modern day who seek to resist any "progressive" social policy in any way for fear that they will be branded as uncaring or un-Christian in their ideas.

Has government power expanded to such a degree that the church now has no voice at all in the public square? Perhaps, but the modern era of public policy reveals just how much the government has gained and how much the church has lost.
