For his weekly monologue today, U.K pundit Neil Oliver looks at the climate change agenda, energy policy, and the constructs of how the new green agenda manifest to create new ways for people to die.
“They all pretend like they’re part of the 99 percent, but they’re not; they’re part of the 1 percent,” he said of Hollywood’s liberal elites. “They’re all incorporated, they all have tax attorneys, believe me. . .”
He pointed to liberal documentary filmmaker Michael Moore as the classic example of a Hollywood phony.
“Michael Moore makes $30 million a year, $40 million a year, but he’s part of the 99 percenters? Now he has to keep up that façade,” Carolla said.
“So he has to show up wearing the ball cap and the t-shirt, because if he ever shows up with a top hat and a monocle, he’s going to be tossed out of his club. … They all do the same thing.”
The political elite has rewritten the rules so that all the trains, all the money and power runs through their system, and in their way. It has devalued local rights, in favor of national powers. It has devalued individual rights, in favor of government rights. At every turn it has empowered government, while disempowering the people. To prevent the unwashed from doing anything stupid, the all-powerful, all-wise Guardians often had to tell a few "noble" lies. And, of course, these caretakers themselves were exempt from most rules they made for others.
We are now seeing such thinking in the Obama administration and among its supporters.

Like so many before him who have ruined countries around the world, Obama has a greatly inflated idea of his own capabilities and the prospects of what can be accomplished by rhetoric or even by political power. Often this has been accompanied by an ignorance of history, including the history of how many people before him have tried similar things with disastrous results.
While publicly identifying with the nation's have-nots, the Obama administration has been cultivating the Beltway social elite behind the scenes.So, while the Obamas have been partying their asses off (well, not COMPLETELY off it appears...Michelle...) which leaves Obama too tired to perform his duties (and in the middle of a global economic meltdown) they are busying themselves with (on our tax dollar) "identifying tastemakers" and trying to push the vibrancy of Washington night life to the forefront.
