The Letter

Excerpt from a letter from a subscriber to Porter Stansberry's excellent Stansberry Research newsletter:
In the 1930s and early '40s, our family took the Saturday Evening Post and at the time, Garet Garrett was one of the editors who wrote a weekly series of short financial editorials. (Later published in book form as The People's Pottage.)

Shortly after 'Pearl Harbor' the editors of the Post wrote to famed historian, Charles Beard requesting that he do a series of articles about 'The Lessons of History.' A few weeks later on the editorial page, the Post published his reply (which, at approx. age 17, I have never forgotten).

Mr. Beard thanked the editors for thinking of him but replied that he had in the past given the subject a great deal of thought and decided that the Lessons of History could be contained in four short paragraphs which were written below, and permission granted for anyone to utilize as desired. They are:
1. Those whom the Gods wish to destroy, they first make mad with Power.

2. The Bee fertilizes the flower it robs.

3. The Mills of the Gods' grind slowly; Yet they grind exceedingly fine. And last, but not least;

4. When it is dark enough, you can see the stars.

Porter then mentioned (after praising the letter) that
Garet Garrett – Edward Peter Garrett – is one of my heroes. Few people know his book The Driver served as a forerunner to Atlas Shrugged.
I certainly didn't know that, did you?

The Great American Bank Robbery

My husband just told me he's been listening, as he often does, to The Dennis Prager Show and Dennis was interviewing the author (Paul Sperry) of The Great American Bank Robbery.

This is the classic story of the fox guarding the hen house, folks, and they're not done with us yet:
The average American household lost $123,000 in wealth during the financial crisis. The Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission says Wall Street stole it, appearing to confirm the narrative told by countless politicians, economists, and pundits.

The verdict seems unanimous. In fact, it's unanimously wrong. The masterminds behind the biggest heist in history were radical social engineers on Pennsylvania Avenue, not financial engineers on Wall Street.

The Great American Bank Robbery offers the first careful and thorough analysis of public policy's role in the calamity. With stinging clarity, it indicts the real culprits--many of whom have returned to the scene of the crime in Washington. Now they're planning an even bigger heist in the name of "economic justice."
Veteran financial newsman Sperry's seminal research and hard-hitting reporting blows the lid off the subprime scandal. Robbery contains more than 50 pages of footnotes, data tables, and charts backing up its numerous revelations.

Under the guise of teaching children to read, the seeds of Socialism are being planted within the minds of young children. Do you believe that the Preamble to the Constitution of the United States mandates the following?
The People’s basic needs must be met in a country. Needs for housing, education, transportation, and health care overseen by our government system.
Those are the words being chanted over and over and over by school children around the country. They are part of an educational program called Building Fluency Through Practice and Performance.

The Jay Treaty Strongly Indicates That Obama Is Not Eligible To Be President.

The Jay Treaty sought to grant the highest form of citizenship rights to those British subjects and US citizens affected by Article IX. Both countries agreed upon the one word they knew would – according to the law of nations – serve the purpose. That word was “natives”. Both states could have agreed that “British subjects” were to receive the same rights as “US citizens” and vice versa, but they didn’t.

They specifically chose the word “natives” because that word had a definitive meaning in the law of nations.

In 1984, the US Supreme Court – in TWA v. Franklin Mint Corp. – stated:
The great object of an international agreement is to define the common ground between sovereign nations. Given the gulfs of language, culture, and values that separate nations, it is essential in international agreements for the parties to make explicit their common ground on the most rudimentary of matters. The frame of reference in interpreting treaties is naturally international, and not domestic. Accordingly, the language of the law of nations is always to be consulted in the interpretation of treaties.

The law of nations is “always” to be consulted in the interpretation of treaties. You all know where this is going now, right?

Consider this to be just the introduction. In part 2 of this report, I will go into much greater detail.

Who's using the economy to bring down the United States of America?

Financial terrorism suspected in 2008 economic crash
Suspects include financial enemies in Middle Eastern states, Islamic terrorists, hostile members of the Chinese military, or government and organized crime groups in Russia, Venezuela or Iran. Chinese military officials publicly have suggested using economic warfare against the U.S.
And, the report says it's not over:
The Pentagon report states that the evidence of financial subversion revealed that the first two phases of an attack on the U.S. economy took place from 2007 to 2009 and “based on recent global market activity, it appears that the predicted Phase III may be underway right now.”

The first phase of the economic attack, the report said, was the escalation of oil prices by speculators from 2007 to mid-2008 that coincided with the housing finance crisis.

In the second phase, the stock market collapsed by what the report called a “bear raid” from unidentified sources on Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers and other Wall Street firms.

The third phase is what Mr. Freeman states in the report was the main source of the economic system’s vulnerability. “We have taken on massive public debt as the government was the only party who could access capital markets in late 2008 and early 2009,” he said, placing the U.S. dollar’s global reserve currency status at grave risk.

“This is the ‘end game’ if the goal is to destroy America,” Mr. Freeman said, noting that in his view China’s military “has been advocating the potential for an economic attack on the U.S. for 12 years or longer as evidenced by the publication of the book Unrestricted Warfare in 1999.”
Funny...Ted Kennedy, who was instrumental in helping Obama to get elected in 2008, was secretly collaborating with RUSSIA....and Obama, himself, has strong ties to Islam...not to mention Honduras Outraged by Obama-Chavez Alliance!

And don't forget this important (and unanswered) question framed by then-Rep Porter Goss (R-Fla): "We know that Chinese officials chose to invest hundreds of thousands of dollars in the 1996 re-election of the Clinton administration. What we don't know is what they expected to gain from that investment..."

Whatever Obama's connection to China was during the election (and, remember: Hillary's rhetoric was harsher), it must have been smoothed out by the time of that recent 5-star dinner at the White House.

Libyan diplomat: “The three Western states (US/UK/France) have landed their special forces troops in Cyrinacia (eastern coastal region of Libya) and are now setting up their bases and training centres..."

UPDATE: So...are we really there and would it be "disastrous"?

UPDATE #2:
The U.S. ordered two warships and 400 Marines to the waters off Libya on Tuesday, but a top Obama administration official stopped short of saying the forces would intervene in the country's growing civil war.

Pershing’s Last Patriot: The Frank Woodruff Buckles Story is slated for release in 2011

Many award-winning feature films have tried to bring the American twentieth century to life through fictional stories. Forrest Gump walked us through the twentieth century with his profound life; The Curious Case of Benjamin Button used a characters life to entertain us through American History from 2005 to World War I, and The Notebook escorted us through a tale of American history through a similar formula. These films demonstrated a intense and blockbuster success and a powerful indicator for the public’s level of interest in such stories.

But what if there was a true story of an American who actually accomplished these things and whose life is a parallel to the proven success of these films? The life of America’s last World War I veteran, Frank Buckles, is the one story, the one survivor and the one whose story needs to be shared.

Pershing’s Last Patriot: The Frank Woodruff Buckles Story is slated for release in 2011. In this unique and insightful documentary film, we will travel with Frank to reflect on his early life in rural Missouri and Oklahoma. Frank will share his experiences as he enlisted and served our nation in “The War to End All Wars”. We will experience his life in a Japanese prisoner of war camp, and relive his amazing rescue from death. Finally, we will see how Frank’s life has changed over the decades, and his rise to fame as America’s last witness to the First World War and so many other world events.
