Albert Jay Nock, perhaps the most brilliant American essayist of the 20th century, and certainly among its most important libertarian thinkers, set out to write his autobiography but he ended up doing much more. He presents here a full theory of society, state, economy, and culture, and does so almost inadvertently.
His stories, lessons, observations, and conclusions pack a very powerful punch, so much so that anyone who takes time to read carefully cannot but end up changed in intellectual outlook. One feels that one has been let in a private club of people who see more deeply than others. This is truly an American classic.
When we consider the actual meanings of “freedom” “peace” “tolerance” and “equality” as articulated by Islam itself, we find that all these concepts are defined in ways that promote Islamic Supremacy: freedom is “freedom from unbelief” – i.e. freedom from anything that is “un-Islamic”; peace is found only in the practice of Islam including the imposition of Sharia law and, more grandly, that on a global scale; tolerance is found in subjugating non-Muslims and equality is only found within the same “band” of the religiously defined social hierarchy.READ MORE
Thus the next time you hear a Muslim speaker explaining how “Islam is a religion of peace, freedom, tolerance and equality”; at least you will know what is meant.
So, in summary, the plan being pursued by Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas appears to be the following:Read the whole thing...Pursue a unity government with Hamas, despite opposition from Israel and potentially from the U.S., and then go the United Nations in September and demand that they fulfill their commitment to create a Palestinian state on pre-1967 borders, and make it a member of the United Nations.It sounds like a straightforward plan, but from the point of view of Generational Dynamics, the Mideast is headed for a new war between Arabs and Jews, re-fighting the genocidal war that followed the 1948 partitioning of Palestine and the creation of the state of Israel.
With the entire Mideast in turmoil with “Arab Revolutions,” any plan that stretches out to September is sure to have to deal with many unexpected complications. As the old saying goes, planning is what you do when life happens.
