Why do both Obama’s State Department and the Senate require two US citizen parents for those born abroad to attain natural born citizen status?

6/24/2009:
Why does the Obama State Department’s continued publication of the Foreign Affairs manual acknowledge that the issue requires two US citizen parents?

Obama's playground strategy: I'll show you mine if you show me yours

...a confidential U.S. note sent to 128 other countries two weeks ago said:
The United States … will provide pre-launch notification of commercial and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) space launches as well as the majority of intercontinental ballistic and submarine-launched ballistic missile launches.

ABC: Obama's "Dialogue-First Diplomacy" Not Working

The Obama Administration came into power with a policy to recast the international perception of American power and to offer direct dialogue with those willing to negotiate, including with rogue regimes. The problem is that events in North Korea and Iran have already outpaced this strategy, and continued devotion to the "dialogue-first" principle amidst changing circumstances has consequences. It may have slowed the Administration's willingness to respond in each case and may be impeding our ability to take full advantage of emerging opportunities to build leverage - along with our international partners - against both Iran and North Korea.

The Public Humiliation of Hillary Clinton

There was a time when United States Secretaries of State were front and center in foreign policy making and implementation. Our first Secretary of State was Thomas Jefferson, and other historical luminaries included John Quincy Adams, Daniel Webster, William Jennings Bryant, and George C. Marshall.

In more modern times, names such as Henry Kissinger, Cyrus Vance, James Baker, Madeleine Albright, Colin Powell, and Condolezza Rice loom large in our psyche and history.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton? Who? Possibly the most marginalized Secretary of State in modern times.

Obama Likely to Back UK Muslim Group's Condemnation of Sarkozy's Stand on Burqas

The same U.S. President who rejects "meddling" in Islamist Iran has no problem meddling in democratic France--on the side of Islamists. During his meeting with French President Nicolas Sarkozy, Obama pointedly criticized French opposition to barbaric burqas and Islamic headscarves.

Obama is likely to intervene again and express support for a UK Muslim group that today condemned Sarkozy.

Obama fails in Pakistan and Turkey

Report: Pakistan rejects U.S. plan, wants drones

U.S. envoys met with Pakistani leaders on Tuesday to ensure that the $7.5 billion that President Obama plans to send their way over the next five years will be used to achieve common goals in the fight against extremism.

But according to a Pakistani newspaper, regional envoy Richard Holbrooke and Joint Chiefs Chairman Adm. Mike Mullen came up empty-handed and received a "rude shock" when a proposal for joint operations against al Qaeda and Taliban forces in the volatile tribal regions was rejected.

Dawn newspaper reported that Pakistan also asked the U.S. to turn over the unmanned drone missions over the territory to them, saying that the drone strikes were fueling extremism.

...I question the premise that Obama "means well" in "O'S AMATEUR HOUR":
The real climax of President Obama's Spring Apologies Tour wasn't his photo op with our troops in Baghdad or even his "American Guilt" concerts in Western Europe.

While fans in the press cheered wildly at every venue, the real performance came in Turkey. And it was a turkey.

How to tell when Obama knows what he's talking about

As Rush was discussing this morning, Obama's interview about his NCAA picks was flawless: no measured speech, no stammers, no halting and fumbling explanations like when he's discussing the economy or foreign affairs.

People were so anxious to blame the President (Bush) for being stupid (reality: Bush got better grades that John Kerry and Al Gore) and now they finally got one who really DOESN'T know what the hell he's talking about. He's in way over his head, and the circus in Washington is the proof.

Reacting to news Obama picked North Carolina to win the NCAA Championship, Mike Krzyzewski says, "the economy is something that [the president] should focus on, probably more than the brackets."
