H.R. 2159: Denying Firearms and Explosives to Dangerous Terrorists Act of 2009

From a friend:
The question is, given the powers that this gives the Attorney General of the United States, Eric Holder, do you think it is possible they start targeting "domestic terrorists" maybe those dangerous, racist Teaparty people?

I love the part about the Attorney General legitimately "withholding information" on national security grounds.

These are the same people that issued "Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment" and went after the Michigan Militia that was supposedly plotting to kill police officers but so far have been challenged by the judge to show evidence they did more than talk.

Operation Shield of Strength

It is not "official issue," but thousands of military personnel are now wearing a "Shield of Strength" dog-tag bearing a Scriptural passage on one side (Joshua 1:9 "I will be strong and courageous. I will not be terrified, or discouraged; for the Lord my God is with me wherever I go.") and the words "United States of America - One Nation Under God" on the other.

Don't ask how much it costs to repeal 'Don't Ask Don't Tell'

...it took this dumb grunt about three hours (a journalism intern could have done it in half that) scanning FEC filings to learn all that I need to know about Patrick Murphy: His congressional seat was bought and paid for by MoveOn.org to the tune of $90,000 dollars. You know, the group that brought you such patriotic hits as “General Betray-us.” Still outraged?...

Ask Medal of Honor-winning gunfighters that have had to kill people for a living what they think of this nonsense, not armchair quarterbacks in air-conditioned Quonset huts sipping diet Cokes and i-chatting on Skype. Real grunts, like Major General Livingston, USMC (retired), will tell you what the active guys can’t say: this repeal of DADT is a bunch of PC BS.

Il Silenzio (aka TAPS) - UPDATES

From a friend:
Thought all of you would enjoy this! I found this very moving.

You may never have heard the full rendition of Il Silenzio, otherwise known as "Taps". This is a most beautiful rendition.

The girl's name is Melissa Venema and is playing with maestro Andre Rieu from Maastriecht in the Netherlands. She is 13 and has been performing for years. This performance is in 2008 Masstriecht where city officials sealed off the town square and closed everything down so they get perfect noise control. Any of you that have studied music will appreciate such talent from such a 13 year old young lady. This is the first time I have ever heard the full rendition of Taps and I enjoyed it very much. It is a wonderful performance.

UPDATE - I just received this comment (which is in the comments below but I am also posting it here):
I suspect that your inspiration to post this article came from viewing my long running post on Musicouch: http://musicouch.com/musicouching/il-silenzio-and-bugle-call-a-k-a-taps/ and my blog at http://www.wdcplace.blogspot.com/. To my knowledge, I am the only person on the web who has dubbed il Silenzio as Taps. I did so after much research - read the comments on Musicouch. You might want to link my two addresses to your post since your material came from my posts. Wess
UPDATE #2: I just received another comment (which is in the comments below) but I am also posting it here since it, too, adds to the information about this piece of music:
Correct information on this piece can be found at:

Bottom line. It's a nice piece of music but

IT IS NOT TAPS
Thanks to both people who posted--it's great to learn more via people who are generous with their time and their knowledge!

UPDATE #3:

FROM A FRIEND: The link to the performance has been around before but I have never seen the story of the performance. At least one country celebrates their liberation by the Americans.
About six miles from Maastricht, in the Netherlands, lie buried 8,301 American soldiers who died in "Operation Market Garden" in the battles to liberate Holland in the fall and winter of 1944. Every one of the men buried in the cemetery, as well as those in the Canadian and British military cemeteries, has been adopted by a Dutch family who mind the grave, decorate it, and keep alive the memory of the soldier they have adopted. It is even the custom to keep a portrait of "their" American soldier in a place of honor in their home. Annually, on "Liberation Day," memorial services are held for "the men who died to liberate Holland." The day concludes with a concert. The final piece is always "Il Silenzio," a memorial piece commissioned by the Dutch and first played in 1965 on the 20th anniversary of Holland's liberation. It has been the concluding piece of the memorial concert ever since.

This year the soloist was a 13-year-old Dutch girl, Melissa Venema, backed by André Rieu and his orchestra (the Royal Orchestra of the Netherlands). This beautiful concert piece is based upon the original version of taps and was composed by Italian composer Nino Rossi.

Meditation

"The biggest thing before shooting is to slow your heart rate down," Ranstad told The Post last week. "You want to be comfortable. I'm taking slow, deep breaths."

Beat.

"It's almost like a meditation. I'm not thinking of anything. I'm just ready to take that guy out."...

Ranstad later heard through the sniper grapevine that the shot was the longest by an American sniper in Afghanistan - and wasn't too far from the 7,972 foot kill in 2002 by Canadian Army Cpl. Rob Furlong. Since Ranstad's kill, a British soldier, Craig Harrison set a new distance record when he shot two Taliban from 8,120 feet last year.

In-country on Memorial Day

Memorial Day 2010 - More up and More down
On Monday, Americans will go to the lake or the park, they will eat hot dogs, bratwurst and hamburgers. There will be parades, fireworks and concerts. Please enjoy this Holiday which marks the beginning of summer. Just remember that my fellow Soldiers and I will spend the day running convoys, kicking down doors, training Iraqis and doing whatever else Uncle Sam requires of us in this war zone. As our Battalion Commander reiterated recently after an Explosively Formed Projectile attack missed killing two of our Soldiers by less than a second, “The enemy is still out there and he still gets a vote on what happens.” We will gladly do our part for the country we all dearly love, and all that we ask is that you recognize our fallen, rejoice in the triumphs those sacrifices have bought, and never forget those of us still fighting.

Sestak cover story starts to unravel

As it turns out, he wasn't even eligible for the position that the cover-up story has provided!

On Memorial Day...A Soldier of the Great War

During the mid-1990's, after making a simple (or so I thought) request to transfer to another department within Universal Studios, I found myself embroiled in a lawsuit with the company, removed from my post in lower management, and temporarily parked in the now defunt in-house 'temp pool'.

One day, in a deep drawyer behind my desk, I saw an obviously used paperback that the regular inhabitant of the post had stowed away--it was A Soldier of the Great War.

Being bored, I started reading and, by the time I finished a week or so later, I was blown away by Mark Helprin's book. One Amazon.com reviewer states:
...if "A Farewell to Arms" captured the Great War from Hemingway's uniquely American perspective, Helprin, by opting for an Italian protagonist, finds a universality that eludes Hemingway, and with prose that a century hence will continue to sing, unlike Hemingway's, which already seems stilted by comparison.
Another says this:
One of the truly great works of American fiction. I will go so far to say as it is the finest work of fiction I've read written in the last half of the 20th century.
An English/History teacher with a self-admitted grim fascination for WWI writes:
Mark Helprin has written the 'perfect' book! This novel has everything - philosophy, adventure, great drama, pathos and tragedy, surrealism (of the John Irving type), comedy, romance, art history, riveting characterization, imaginative plotting and structure, and evocative writing.
You can get a taste for the reverence Mr. Helprin brings to this topic by reading his Wall Street Journal "On Memorial Day" tribute from yesterday (5/29/10)--a sample here:
The debt we owe, and in regard to which we are at present deeply in arrears, may be difficult to pay but it is easy to see. To grasp its conspicuous clarity one need only walk among the graves and pause to give proper thought to even just one life among the many. Read slowly the name, the dates, the place where everything came to an end.

I have seen lonely people of advancing age, yet as constant as angels, keeping faith to those they loved who fell in wars that current generations, not having known them, cannot even forget. The sight of them moving hesitantly among the tablets and crosses is enough to break your heart. Let that break be the father to a profound resolution to fulfill our obligation to the endless chain of the mourning and the dead. Shall we not sacrifice where required? Shall we not prove more responsible, courageous, honest, and assiduous? Shall we not illuminate our decisions with the light that comes from the stress of soul, and ever keep faith with the fallen by embracing the soldiers who fight in our name? The answer must be that we shall.

The Joe Sestak admission that brother and campaign strategist Richard Sestak is coordinating a future Sestak response with the White House is certain to increase calls for a special prosecutor. It launches a whole news series of questions:

From American Spectator: Sestak: Brother Collaborating With White House

From a friend who sent me this article:
Important to remember that the road to Nixon's resignation to avoid certain impeachment began with a botched burglary at a then insignificant, little known building named The Watergate. Nixon went down not because of the break-in caper, but because he violated the constitution during the cover-up. Obamby is now in the cover-up stage, which may indeed lead to freeing America of 'our long national nightmare.' He's an incompetent, sleazy pol surrounded by sleazy Chicago thugs, and this is about to become - at last - frontpage news, despite the MSM's effort to protect this cabal.

So congratulations to the Denver Post for breaking this story. However just one "little" problem. Since that story was published, the Denver Post has been in complete lockdown mode regarding it. No followup articles. No mention at all of a job offer made by the White House to Romanoff even referenced in other related stories...

California Attorney General Jerry Brown denied the San Francisco sheriff's petition to opt out of a new federal program under which the fingerprints of all those arrested for any crime would be shared with federal immigration authorities

It's amazing what happens to a person when they are running for office!

The San Francisco Bay Guardian explains:
The Board of Supervisors is urging San Francisco officials not to participate in Secure Communities, a controversial federal-local fingerprinting collaboration set to be activated June 1. But opting out of a program that threatens to make debates over "sanctuary city" protections of immigrants irrelevant may not be easy.
Insecure Sanctuary

According to a Heritage Foundation Memo on Homeland Security on 1/6/10:
Prior to the Secure Communities program, criminal aliens were all too often returned to the streets in a practice of “catch and release” because local law enforcement did not have the resources to detain or investigate them. Now, ICE is able to commit to a response time of less than four hours to retrieve criminal aliens from state and local jails.

While the Secure Communities program is a great example of how immigration enforcement can be used effectively to help state and local law enforcement decrease illegal immigration and maintain public safety, the Obama Administration has rolled back or attempted to roll back several key immigration enforcement efforts, including the following...287(g)...Social Security No-Match...Real ID...
Secure Communities: A Model for Obama’s 2010 Immigration Enforcement Strategy

But, according to the Bay City News on 5/25/10, gubernatorial candidate Jerry Brown has destroyed San Francisco's chances to opt-out: Jerry Brown Turns Down SF's Attempt To Duck Automatic Sharing Of Arrestee Fingerprints
"Because I think this program serves both public safety and the interest of justice, I am declining your request," Brown wrote in his letter today to Hennessey.

"Using fingerprints is faster, race neutral and results in accurate information and identification," Brown said.

"In these matters, statewide uniformity makes sense," Brown wrote. "This is not simply a local issue. Many of the people booked in local jails end up in state prison or go on to commit crimes in other counties or states."

Oh well.

Gosh, wonder what Obama thinks!

Jerry should watch out or Obama might not invite him to any of his big parties at the White House...

This financial crisis is worse than the sub-prime crash of 2008

Mervyn King, the Bank of England Governor, summed it up best: "Dealing with a banking crisis was difficult enough," he said the other week, "but at least there were public-sector balance sheets on to which the problems could be moved. Once you move into sovereign debt, there is no answer; there's no backstop."

In other words, were this a computer game, the politicians would be down to their last life. Any mistake now and it really is Game Over. Or to pick a slightly more traditional game, it is rather like a session of pass-the-parcel which is fast approaching the end of the line.

Dreams of My President: a whimper or a bang? (But dead, they are!)

The new world order as envisioned by Obama in January 2009 was, I think, supposed to look something like the following: A social-democratic America would come to emulate the successful welfare states in the European Union. These twin Western communitarian powers would together usher in a new world order in which no one nation was to be seen as preeminent. All the old nasty ideas of the 20th century — military alliances, sovereign borders, independent international finance, nuclear arms, religious and cultural chauvinism — would fall by the wayside, as the West was reinvented as part of the solution rather the problem it had been in its days of colonialism, imperialism, and exploitation. A new green transnationalism would assume the place of that bad old order, a transnationalism run by elite, highly educated, and socially conscious technocrats — albeit themselves Western — supported by a progressive press more interested in effecting social change than in merely reporting the tawdry news.
We will hear all sorts of angry charges as these dreams die, but that will not mean they are not dead — even if we are lucky and they go out with a whimper rather than a bang...

Now it's "Obama's Watergate!"

If you lived through the Watergate scandal (like I did), you'll remember that it was just a drip...drip...drip of events until White House aides were indicted by a grand jury for conspiring in a cover-up...

John Mitchell, Attorney General (think: Eric Holder)
H R. (Bob) Haldeman, Chief of Staff (think: Rahm Emanuel)
John D. Ehrlichman, Domestic Affairs Advisor (think: David Axelrod)

This is just as serious, folks - allegations would amount to three felony charges of bribery and corruption!

U.S. debt reaches level at which economic growth begins to slow

Bad news (Glenn Beck is right):
The level of U.S. debt has reached a point at which economic growth traditionally begins to slow, a bipartisan fiscal commission making recommendations to the White House and Congress was told Wednesday.

The gross U.S. debt is approaching a level equivalent to 90 percent of the country's gross domestic product, the level at which growth has historically declined, said Carmen Reinhart, a University of Maryland economist.
Notice the reference to "rising healthcare costs" (get the feeling you were jobbed by the Democrats?):
Gross debt, unlike the public debt measure used by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) and other economic forecasters, includes the money the government owes to all entities it supports, such as mortgage firms Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, Reinhart said. The CBO expects public debt to grow from 63 percent this year to 90 percent in 2020, largely because of rising healthcare costs.
Do you think Congressional Democrats are going to heed this warning?
Reinhart cautioned policymakers against seeing the strengthening of the dollar as a sign that investors can wait for the United States to show how it will deal with the debt.

"I am concerned about complacency," she said. "I am concerned that because the dollar has renewed its role as a reserve currency, we may wait too long."

But, wait! Obama told Republican Senators yesterday that his nationalized health care plan would reduce the debt....

My Prayer for My Country

You need to read why Dennis Prager thinks that "The World Is a Cruel Place -- and If America Weakens, It Will Get Crueler"
Those of us working to remove Democrats from power regard this November's election as not only a referendum on the direction of America, but of the world itself.
When I was a teenager, my parents took me to see the famous spritual leader Ernest Holmes, founder of the Christian denomination called "Religous Science" (not at all related to "Christian Science").

I was just cleaning out some old files and found the following prayer "MY PRAYER for MY COUNTRY" written by Dr. Holmes and, after reading Dennis Prager's article above, I feel a great need to share this with you:
MY PRAYER for MY COUNTRY

Believing in the Divine destiny of the United States of America and in the preservation of liberty, security, and self-expression for all, I offer this, my prayer for my country:

I know that Divine Intelligence governs the destiny of the United States of America, directing the thought and the activity of all who guide its affairs.

I know that success, prosperity, and happiness are the gifts of freedom and are the Divine heritage of everyone in this country.

I know that success, prosperity, and happiness are now operating in the affairs of every individual in this country.

I know that Divine guidance enlightens the collective mind of the people of this country, causing it to know that economic security may come to all without the loss of either personal freedom or individual self-expression.

I know that no one can believe or be led to believe that freedom must be surrendered in order to insure economic security for all.

The All-Knowing Mind contains the answer to every problem which confronts this country. I know that every leader in this country is now directed by this All-Knowing Mind and has the knowledge of a complete solution to every problem. Each is compelled to act upon this knowledge to the end that abundance, security, and peace shall come to all.

And I know that this spiritual democracy shall endure, guaranteeing to everyone in this country personal liberty, happiness, and self-expression.
You'll notice that I emphasized (in bold) these two items:
I know that Divine guidance enlightens the collective mind of the people of this country, causing it to know that economic security may come to all without the loss of either personal freedom or individual self-expression.
and
I know that no one can believe or be led to believe that freedom must be surrendered in order to insure economic security for all.
Ernest published his first book, "Creative Mind," in 1919 (two years after Woodrow Wilson, Progressive era intellectual, was narrowly re-elected as President of the United States).

In 1958, he advised:
We have launched a Movement which, in the next 100 years, will be the great new religious impulsion of modern times, far exceeding, in its capacity to envelop the world, anything that has happened since Mohammedanism started.

We have to have the same faith in what we teach and practice that the scientist has, or the gardener has, and when that great simplicity shall have plumbed and penetrated this density of ours, this human stolidness and stupidity, this debauchery of the intellect and the soul, something new and wonderful will happen. It is the only thing that will keep the world from destroying itself....
(Abstracted from the booklet Path of Discovery, prepared by Scott Awbrey, Los Angeles United Church of Religious Science, 1987.)

Can you tell that he, too, was facing those who were trying to convince everyone that, in order to be prosperous and secure, they neeeded to forfeit their individual liberty?

I can.

It is a plague visited upon all the men whose need to control and dominate others feeds their insecurities and desperate desires to live by climbing upon the bodies of all who deny them the worship they insist upon, extracting adulation from all their unwilling and terrified victims by any means available.

...look at how Obama is deteriorating in this way...

Yours in freedom.

FIREARM SALES SOAR, CRIME FALLS . . .

From the National Shooting Sports Foundation
Since the surge in firearms purchases began in October 2008, if one believes the oft-repeated mantra that "most crime guns are rapidly diverted from retailers to the street via straw purchasers," then there should have been a surge in homicides and other violent crime. There was not. In fact, preliminary figures released by the FBI today show that all forms of violent crime were down in 2009 from 2008, with homicides showing the greatest percentage decline (7.2 percent). These declines in crime came during a year when firearm sales were at historic highs.

"The Shack" has tried to create mass acceptance of a viewpoint that denies the existence of evil and the costs and consequences of unbelief - UPDATE

I was so relieved to read WorldNetDaily's expose of The Shack today, which has sold more than 7 million copies worldwide and a film version is reportedly in the works.
Millions of evangelical Christians are among the masses who have embraced William Paul Young's "The Shack" as though it were gospel. Even three years since its release, "The Shack" has remained on numerous best-seller lists for more than 100 weeks – a claim no other book can make.
In "Burning Down The Shack", author James De Young exposes what he says is "the greatest deception to blindside the church in the last 200 years!"
A New Testament language and literature professor at Western Seminary in Portland, Ore., he's also a former longtime colleague of Paul Young, and was his Portland-area neighbor when Young wrote "The Shack." In 1997, De Young and Young even co-founded a Christian think tank, called M3 Forum, and for the next seven years they discussed and probed topics, doctrine and problems facing the church as it approached the New Millennium.
I said I was relieved because a dear friend highly recommended it, but I was so troubled by it that I just had to read it twice hoping that I could understand and then explain to her what it was that bothered me. Not being as well-versed in the New Testament as Professor De Young, I just couldn't put my finger on it except to say that I had initially stopped reading it when the story began by including a glowing mention of American journalist and commentator Bill Moyers--who drips with far left superiority to the point of nausea.

Anyway, thank you World Net Daily!

Just like the television series LOST can leave you feeling a bit teary-eyed at it's end even though you know you've been conned into thinking you liked a story that is so basically flawed, so it is with "The Shack."

Thanks to Professor De Young, we are reminded that we won't be deceived when we return to the true source for the real story.

UPDATE - Burning Down the Shack- Review by Warren Nozaki (January 3, 2011)
What sets Burning Down “The Shack” apart from the rest is the fact that James De Young and William Paul Young are well acquainted with one another. In fact, together they co-founded a Portland, Oregon based Christian think tank in 1997 called the M3 Forum (p. xiii). Burning Down “The Shack” thus offers an assessment from a capable Christian thinker with unique insights into the heart and mind of The Shack creator.

De Young’s book confirms the same theological problems others have observed. Namely, The Shack errs in personifying the Trinity as a Black female housekeeper, a big nosed Jewish man, and a mysterious Asian woman (13–22). It errs in depicting Papa (the first person of the Trinity) with crucifixion scars, implying the Father suffered on the cross (patripassianism), which is a way modalism distorts the distinctions of the persons in the Godhead (25–28). It errs again in suggesting the incarnate Christ never drew upon his divine nature to do anything (22–25). It errs, moreover, in its teaching on the salvation of sinners (135–139). It is on this last point that De Young’s close association with Young proves most valuable.

Shocking new evidence emerging: Obama (and Rahm) on the down low?

From CITIZEN WELLS:
  1. Someone in the national media is finally interested in Man’s Country in Andersonville.
This has to be cloak-and-dagger for the time being, because though we’ve not been sworn to secrecy on the project, we’re not at liberty to talk in depth about what we did yesterday, which was in response to one of the occasional requests we get from members of the media for background info on stories they’re doing.

Normally, it’s foreign journalists who get in touch with us when they’re in Chicago and want to go to the Southside to see how terrible it is, and talk about how Obama did absolutely jack squat for it as either a state senator or US Senator, and hasn’t used any of his particular brand of unicorn horn magic to improve it (or the black community residing there) since the illustrious Golden Age of Hope and Change began on January 20th, 2009.

But, this time it was a US reporter who wanted information on Man’s Country in Andersonville, which is a place both Obama and Rahm Emanuel frequented in the past. Obama until 2002 or so, and Emanuel through 2008, according to what we’ve been told. We spent a good amount of time on the ground in Uptown, Boystown, Andersonville, and Hyde Park yesterday with this reporter, also telling him everything we knew about Trinity United Church of Christ and the Down-Low Club it operated under Jeremiah Wright’s supervision/matchmaking.

What prompted this sudden interest in stories we’ve been hearing since 2004, when Obama first came onto the national scene, is the fact that at least one national journalist also thinks it’s odd — as we have been repeatedly saying — that The Enquirer, The Globe, and other papers have been so wildly gung-ho about reporting on old Vera Baker affair rumors pertaining to Obama…and how all of this comes on the heels of Kal Penn’s sudden and abrupt expulsion from the White House.

    Something is definitely fishy.

Why the sudden need to portray this current president as an insatiably heterosexual stud who just can’t get enough women?
  2. What was Kal Penn doing at Dupont Circle after midnight?
...Kal Penn, who strangely was lifted from Hollywood and given a prominent position in the Obama Administration (where his chief responsibility seems to have been working to illegally use the National Endowment for the Arts to create Obama-praising, Baathist grade propaganda “artworks”), was apparently robbed at gunpoint at Dupont Circle after midnight the other night.

That would be like us reading a story about a guy being robbed at gunpoint, in Chicago, at the corner of Roscoe and Halsted after midnight one night.

What was that guy doing there?

Not scoping hot chicks and chasing skirts, that’s for damn sure.

Dupont Circle is the DC equivalent of Boystown...

It’s just really, really strange Penn was ever picked to be part of this administration. Why him? He had no skills. He’s not even a famous actor, like a George Clooney or a Brad Pitt. Now, Reagan made Shirley Temple and some old western stars ambassadors, because he had a personal relationship with them…and, actually, they were some of our best diplomats ever, because their acting skills and experience with the press and public made them naturals.

    But, Kal Penn?

What made him qualified to be part of that NEA scheme? The whole thing is just so strange.

From what we understand, Obama personally wanted this man around in the West Wing, for whatever reason.

Just like Obama demanded his longtime “bodyman”, Reggie Love, work as his “personal aide” in his White House.

Add Rahm Emanuel, and all his untalked about exploits into this mess, and the West Wing starts to feel a lot like Eric Massa’s Congressional frat house or Barney Frank’s basement.

We never thought twice about Penn before, except to wonder why on Earth he was courted by this president…but this Dupont Circle business adds a new light to things.
  3. The National Enquirer is doing the job that the mainstream media has failed to do...

  4. Blagojevich trial, Obama Levine ties, Stuart Levine must testify
Next during the Tony Rezko trial, key witness Stuart Levine, a long time drug user, explained how he regularly entertained male friends in Springfield, the IL state capital, as well as in the Chicago area.

Is this one of the reasons Obama has kept hidden his IL Senate records?

    From the Tony Rezko Trial

Remember, the IL State Capital is Springfield.

    Tales of the ‘Purple Hotel’
There's obviously more coming from Citizen Wells and HillBuzz and the National Enquirer...yowza!

America's new culture war: Free enterprise vs. government control

Excerpt:
The goal of our system should be to give all Americans the greatest opportunities possible to succeed based on their work and merit. And that's exactly what the free enterprise system does: It makes earned success possible for the most people. This is the liberty that enables the true pursuit of happiness.

To win the culture war, those of us in the 70 percent majority must reclaim -- and proclaim -- the morality of our worldview.

Unfortunately, we often fail to do this...

To win, the 70 percent majority must come together around core principles: that the purpose of free enterprise is human flourishing, not materialism; that we stand for equality of opportunity, not equality of income; that we seek to stimulate true prosperity rather than simply treat poverty; and that we believe in principle over power.

This final idea is particularly challenging.

The surprising history of amnesty in the U.S.

From BobbyT7:

Proponents of another new amnesty for illegal aliens fail to acknowledge the history and net effect of previous amnesties. Many Americans believe that there has been only one prior amnesty, the Immigration and Reform Control Act (IRCA) of 1986. In fact, including IRCA, there have been seven amnesties since that time, using the misnomers of 'reform' or 'adjustments'. These additional amnesties have had the ultimate effect of naturalizing millions of individuals who knowingly entered the United States illegally.

Since IRCA was enacted, some 5.7 million more people have been granted amnesty and the opportunity to become citizens. But now there are at least four or five times that many people illegally in the United States. Through all these amnesties, many more foreign nationals were amnestied than had been estimated. IRCA was expected to cover some 1 million illegal aliens.

The seven amnesties that have been passed by Congress:

1. Immigration and Reform Control Act (IRCA), 1986.
A blanket amnesty for some 2.7 million illegal aliens

2. Section 245(i) Amnesty, 1994.
A temporary rolling amnesty for 578,000 illegal aliens

3. Section 245(i) Extension Amnesty, 1997.
An extension of the rolling amnesty created in 1994

Note: The numbers for section 245(i) are not broken out for 1994 and 1997

4. Nicaraguan Adjustment and Central American Relief Act (NACARA) Amnesty, 1997.
An amnesty for close to 1 million illegal aliens from Central America

5. Haitian Refugee Immigration Fairness Act Amnesty (HRIFA), 1998.
An amnesty for 125,000 illegal aliens from Haiti

6. Late Amnesty, 2000.
An amnesty for some illegal aliens who claim they should have been amnestied under the 1986 IRCA amnesty, an estimated 400,000 illegal aliens

7. LIFE Act Amnesty, 2000.
A reinstatement of the rolling Section 245(i) amnesty, an estimated 900,000 illegal aliens

When IRCA was passed by Congress, it was with the strict understanding that it would be a one-time-only forgiveness followed by strict border and active workplace enforcement. The list of amnesties post-IRCA shows that rather than leading to a tightening of immigration policy and enforcement, IRCA became a powerful lure for more illegal entry. Since IRCA led to an amnesty for three times as many people as were estimated beforehand, the U.S. might now be looking at offering naturalization to some 30 million people.

Crapcare update

Dear Policy Patriots -

Will you patiently wait for health care at the end of a 32,000,000 person line? Proponents of ObamaCare are betting you will. In 2006, Massachusetts passed a version of health care reform which, like ObamaCare, promised to reduce wait times, particularly in emergency rooms. However, a recent poll by the American College of Emergency Physicians has found that two-thirds of Massachusetts residents reported that wait times haven't decreased at all. In many cases, they've increased. The reason is simple: by expanding insurance coverage and ignoring physicians' needs, lawmakers increased demand but did nothing to encourage supply. ObamaCare makes the same mistake. In fact, ObamaCare's replica of the Massachusetts health care fiasco is so good that health care scholars now glumly predict "the new healthcare law will pack 32 million newly insured people into emergency rooms already crammed beyond capacity."

Meanwhile, your doctor is about to take a 21 percent pay cut. Will you fight for him? Advocates of ObamaCare are betting you won't. In order to hide the real costs of ObamaCare, Congress declined to include the so-called "doc-fix" in the recent health care legislation. However, that left doctors exposed to Medicare reimbursement rates at the 2001 level-despite the fact that the costs of senior care have increased 20 percent in the last decade. If Congress fails to act before June 1, physicians will have to bear a 21.3 percent drop in Medicare payments. Of course, this will hurt seniors even more than it hurts the doctors who care for them.

But have no fear: a check is in the mail! If you're over 65, you may have a bitter taste in your mouth from watching ObamaCare strip $500 billion from Medicare. To make amends, proponents of ObamaCare are now offering seniors a palate cleanser in the form of a $250 rebate. Seniors may use these dollars to offset the drop in prescription drug coverage known as the Medicare "doughnut hole." Of course, every little helps, but the reality is that a senior's out-of-pocket drug costs can exceed $3,000 annually. Compared to the theft of $500,000,000,000 from Medicare, a less-than-ten-percent rebate on prescription drug costs is hardly the way that America's senior citizens should be treated.

"You can keep your insurance if you like it." You may remember President Obama's most famous health care promise. It turns out the President's campaign pledge isn't worth the teleprompter it was uploaded to. The numbers speak for themselves. Because of ObamaCare:
  • An estimated 19 million employees will lose their employer-based insurance coverage
  • As many as 11.5 million Americans will lose Medicare Advantage
  • 33 million Medicare beneficiaries will experience massive cuts in quality and access
  • In addition to these incredible statistics, all indications suggest that in the coming months millions more will lose their employer-based insurance as companies discover how much they can save by booting employees into government-provide insurance pools

Investigation into Obama administration and Wall Street bailout of Chicago's Shorebank

Wow...Obama and Kenya (again)!
Writer Michelle Malkin points out a very close tie between Shorebank and Obama: a video of Obama visiting Kenya in 2006 in which Shorebank is depicted as a model for a program to make small loans to poor people in Kenya. In the video, Obama makes promises of U.S. economic help to Kenya. The video does not explain why Obama and his wife chose to visit Kenya at that time over all of the other poor African countries.
SMALL INSTITUTION BASED IN CHICAGO RECEIVES LAST-MINUTE HELP FROM GIANT WALL STREET LENDERS, BUT WHY?

Wow. Even the Dalai Lama does it!

Dalai Lama tweets to Chinese citizens about Tibet

BTW, Seven Years in Tibet is one of the world's best stories (and the Brad Pitt movie did NOT do it justice)--I listened to a book-on-tape version over several evenings when I lived alone in a 'single' filled with a grand piano and a couch-bed. A true story, it was written by Heinrich Harrer:
Heinrich Harrer, noted Austrian explorer and mountaineer, escaped over the Himalaya from a prisoner-of-war camp in British India with Peter Aufschnaiter, and then lived and worked as a fifth-ranked nobleman in the forbidden city of Lhasa. As confidant and informal tutor to the Fourteenth Dalai Lama, Harrer was afforded access to ceremonies and customs that had been rarely witnessed by Westerners.

In the company of the Tibetan nobility, Harrer photographed a virtual family album of their lives and, in so doing, captured the richness and heart of a people: the moments with friends and family who had long accepted the photographer's eye. The Tibetans' joy at play, the leisure of the nobility, the splendor of the Buddhist rituals, the windswept plains of the high plateau—Harrer's photographs document this with a mountaineer's sense of scale and an explorer's sensitivity to culture.

Harrer left Lhasa in advance of the Chinese army in December 1950. Harrer's memoir, Seven Years in Tibet, has been translated into 53 languages, with more than four million copies sold. In October 1997, a motion picture based on his book, starring Brad Pitt as young Heinrich Harrer, was released by Tristar to major box-office success. Seven Years in Tibet, the book, again soared on best-seller lists around the world.

Harrer’s body of work spanned more than six decades of exploration on six continents. Harrer received numerous honors, including the Eiger Gold Medal, Gold Humboldt Medal and the Explorers Club Medal, for his many expeditions and explorations, which number more than 600. He wrote 23 books and received credit on more than 40 film productions.

In October 2002, His Holiness the Dalai Lama presented Harrer with the International Campaign for Tibet's Light of Truth Award to honor Harrer’s humanitarian effort to bring the situation in Tibet to international attention.

Heinrich Harrer and the exiled Dalai Lama remained steadfast friends until Harrer’s death on January 7, 2006.

CNN Money: Stealth IRS changes mean millions of new tax forms

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- The massive expansion of requirements for businesses to file 1099 tax forms that was hidden in the 2,409-page health reform bill took many by surprise when it came to light last month. But it's just one piece of a years-long legislative stealth campaign to create ways for the federal government to track down unreported income.

The result: A blizzard of new tax forms that the Internal Revenue Service will begin rolling out next year.

Obama's records are not sealed by the courts, they are sealed by the CIA!

Guilty Verdict Handed Down by the Obama Columbia Jury
Manning described a letter that he got from a former KGB agent that was also a double agent with the CIA. The informant Mike, stated that Obama worked with the CIA for 4 years (1981-1985) in Pakistan assisting the Mujahadeen fighters during the Soviet-Afghan war.

Manning then stated that factions of the CIA and the KGB are working together to install a socialist government and that Bill Clinton, Leon Panetta, Rahm Emanuel and Obama are all in on it. This means that there has been a conspiracy for at least the past 20 years to create a super spy agency. This spy agency would blackmail and assassinate the opposition, the Republicans were targets.

This was called "The Professional System". A KGB like security force that will undermine freedom and elections in the United States, to shove this nation into a socialist state.

This KGB agent claimed that the CIA was more interested in American citizens, rather than foreign enemies. Basically he is saying that they have been compromised by the enemy.

You're next!

This could be, no WILL BE your neighborhood and your state...unless you stand up for what is right!

The Many Contributions To America, by Illegal Immigrants (Video & Photos)

PRESIDENTS IN GLASS HOUSES SHOULDN'T THROW STONES

Let’s examine how Mexico treats illegal aliens:

- Immigrants and foreign visitors are banned from public political discourse.
- Immigrants and foreigners are denied certain basic property rights.
- Immigrants are denied equal employment rights.
- Immigrants and naturalized citizens will never be treated as real Mexican citizens.
- Immigrants and naturalized citizens are not to be trusted in public service.
- Immigrants and naturalized citizens may never become members of the clergy.
- Private citizens may make citizens arrests of lawbreakers (i.e., illegal immigrants) and hand them to the authorities.
- Immigrants may be expelled from Mexico for any reason and without due process.

The Mexican constitution: Unfriendly to immigrants

Think the Blagojevich guilty plea is mainly about selling Obama's senate seat?

Think again...
“We have a trial, a story, about Rod Blagojevich, his numerous corrupt cronies including Tony Rezko, Stuart Levine, Barack Obama and a host of others involved in long time crime and corruption in Chicago and IL. We have a story, far bigger and more far reaching than Watergate. We have a story including businessmen, attorneys, state and local officials, the Governor of Illinois, the occupant of the White House and his long time associates, and it is barely being covered by the mainstream media. And worse than that, it is being covered up. Even our last refuge of information access, the internet, is being manipulated.”

“The second Superseding Indictment of Rod Blagojevich is 113 pages long. Tony Rezko’s Superceding Indictment is 65 pages.”

Another media lie!

The media, playing the useful idiot of the left, is now in a full tizzy that Rand Paul would have opposed the Civil Rights Act in 1964. Not once did he say that. In fact, in the entire transcript, the only thing Rand Paul said he was opposed to was institutional racism and he favored the Civil Rights Act’s eradication of institutional racism...

RNC launches the GOP API

Mmmm, Mmmm, Mmmm!
Next week, GOP.com will be debuting a new API, the purpose of which is to encourage people to blog, tweet, facebook, tag, tumblr, digg … well, let’s just summarize it as “get their internet on” in pursuit of winning elections. It’s not the first API released by Republicans. The House GOP released the Anywhere API, which allows developers to focus on keeping tabs on big government. But this is the first API released by the RNC, and its a pretty big step into new media, by either party’s standards.

Public Option Is Alive And Well, But Hidden

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wasn’t kidding when she famously said Congress had to pass Obamacare “so you can see what’s in it.” And now as more people find out what’s in the 2,700-plus pages of the law, a steadily lengthening list of President Barack Obama’s promises are being exposed as empty...

Here’s another Obamacare myth biting the dust. Remember when Obama and congressional Democrats made a big show of dropping the public option government insurance program that was supposedly going to give private insurers competition and drive rates down? The truth is the public option is alive and well, residing in Section 1334, pages 97-100, of the new health care law.

A trial attorney with the Department of Justice’s Voting Rights Section has resigned, citing concerns about the government’s refusal to prosecute a case involving voter intimidation by the New Black Panther Party. A letter of resignation obtained by The Washington Examiner from a former Justice Department employee makes clear DOJ has refused to allow attorneys in the Voting Rights Section to testify before the congressionally-chartered bipartisan U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, despite subpoenas that could result in their being held in contempt.

In his letter of resignation, J. Christian Adams said:

No, You Can't Keep Your Health Plan!

WSJ:
President Obama guaranteed Americans that after health reform became law they could keep their insurance plans and their doctors. It's clear that this promise cannot be kept. Insurers and physicians are already reshaping their businesses as a result of Mr. Obama's plan.
Insurers and doctors are already consolidating their businesses in the wake of ObamaCare's passage

This makes me so angry. Conservatives knew that Obama was either outright lying or just plain stupid. We tried to convince every stubborn, gullible Democrat not to support this plan but they all refused (and still do) to listen to us about Obamacare and now everyone is going to suffer. I have the greatest primary care physician and he has his own practice (The Center for Integrative Medicine) and if I lose this doctor because of them and their ridiculous wonder boy, I will spend the rest of my life working to get them out of this country.

Muslim Scum to Build Mosque Steps Away from the 9/11 Site

In a stunning insult to the families of the 9/11 victims Muslim scum are planning the construction of the Cordoba House, a mosque and cultural center. It will be built just steps from the 9/11 site where 3000 people lost their lives when jihadists flew planes into the Twin Towers.

Imam Feisel Abdul Rauf, who helped found the Cordoba Initiative following the 9/11 attacks, said the project is intended to foster better relations between the West and Muslims. We at Neville feel safer already

For those not in the know, Cordoba was the capital of the Islamic Emirate of Al-Andalus (Andalusia) in Spain, seized by Muslim invaders from Africa in 711 and recaptured by Spanish Christians under Ferdinand III of Castille in 1236. What better indication could there be of the Islamic intent to make America a Moslem Al-Andalus Emirate?

And in an amazing display of "dhimmitude" the 12 enablers (not one of them a Muslim) at the New York City Municipal Authority voted unanimously to approve the Cordoba mosque.

"I think it will be a wonderful asset to the community," said committee Chairman and chief idiot Ro Sheffe. No doubt that the mosque will be used to stockpile weapons.

Again for those not in the know, religious and cultural imperialism is what Muslims do, who believe they are under the command of Allah to conduct jihad upon infidels. The cowards among the infidels who submit to Muslims are called dhimmis, roughly translated from the Arabic as "useful idiots."

REVEALED: former friend exposes Obama

From the founder of the Marxist organization at Occidental College, where Obama first entered college. The man, Dr. John Drew, is a former friend of Obama.
In this interview Dr. Drew stated:

1. Dr Drew was the founder of the Marxist Organization at Occidental College.

2. Obama was a radical Marxist revolutionary that constantly preached about redistribution of wealth and transformation of the political system.

3. Obama had no black friends, they were only white and foreigners (Middle Eastern).

4. Obama wanted to overthrow the wealthy.

5. Obama had no girlfriends and that he was not a hard working student that hit the books hard. He liked to party more than study.

6. Islam and Marxism fit together perfectly and that is why leftists and the Muslim students mixed very well.

7. Obama was always dressed very nice, had designer clothes and drove in a BMW. Obama’s friend Mohammed Chandoo from Pakistan seemed to be rolling in cash and Obama was not struggling at all. They spent their money on partying, pot and hotel rooms.
Pastor Manning then stated that Dr. Drew was a tremendous find, because of his close association with Obama and his radical views from his college days. Dr. Drew mentioned to Manning that he “tried to get the word out about Obama’s radical views prior to the election, but nobody would listen to him.”
