THE WRONG DONATIONS -- SOME TOUGH WORDS ON DISASTER RELIEF:

Please, please continue to love us. There are no words to express how much your encouragement means to us. But please, please think before donating. If you come for rescue operations or donation drops, don’t just show up and wander aimlessly looking for something to do. Connect with FEMA and other local aid groups for instructions ahead of time. Vigilante helpers just are not helping, as beautiful as your hearts are. Having a plan or contact will help you and us!

Don’t empty your drawers and bureaus randomly into a bag. Go to sites like Aviators Helping South Texas or FEMA or Will Metcalf’s page and peruse the lists and find out what we really need. Donate financially to local nonprofits so they can buy what they actually need for recovery. Look, even if it’s 2$ it adds up. That gift is just as precious and needed as someone else’s $100. It’s about heart not amount. Supply gift cards to evacuees or those distributing to evacuees so they can buy what they really need. Keep in mind our seasonal situations, hazard situations, landfill situations when donating items. Think about things we need today to get through this right now (cleaning supplies, black garbage bags, work gloves), not things we might need next month or year (prom dresses). Today is all that we can comprehend right now…barely.

When donating items on the lists, please ask yourself if you or someone you loved was in our situation, is this what you would want someone to give to you? When purchasing gift cards, make sure they are VISAS or are to places we actually have down here in our areas. WaWa cards do us little good in Texas.

I am begging you to think before you donate.

I Want To Help But I Can't. . .

There are so many reasons why people think they aren't able to help the animals. Money, personal situations, living arrangements, small children, medical needs, and many more. In many cases, there are a lot of ways people can help without even having to leave their homes.

Begin with sharing and networking these animals in need. Perhaps someone in your social circle will be able to help in some way. If your local shelter is overcrowded and under staffed, perhaps you can volunteer your time to help out there. Feeding animals, cleaning kennels, exercising and socializing dogs, or maybe even photographing the animals to help promote them on social media are all ways you can get involved. Hosting fundraisers, volunteering to help out at adoption events, transporting animals, doing home checks, or providing professional services (are you a graphic artist, lawyer, veterinarian, work at a pet supply company) are all ways to help out a rescue you admire, and in some cases you don't even have to live close by.

Donation to provide grants for development of organization’s grassroots resources

Washington – Tea Party Patriots (TPP), the nation’s largest Tea Party organization with more than 2,800 affiliated organizations, today announced that it has received a $1,000,000 commitment to fund a grant program for the purpose of growing and strengthening regional and local Tea Party Patriots affiliates across the country. The donor, who wishes to remain anonymous, is committed to building a stronger tea party movement.

TPP made the announcement at a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington. D.C.

“The Tea Party movement is here to stay,” said Jenny Beth Martin, Co-founder and National Coordinator of Tea Party Patriots. “This fund will be distributed over the next several weeks, to help ensure that the principles and values of the Tea Party Patriots will inform the citizens of the nation as we head into election season.”

The funds will be distributed in grant form based on applications made by TPP affiliates across the country. Recipients of the grants will come from among thousands of TPP affiliate organizations.

“In keeping with the spirit and philosophy of Tea Party Patriots, this fund will be immediately and broadly distributed to tea party organizations on the ground, in order to allow them to leverage their current efforts” said Mark Meckler, Co-Founder and National Coordinator of Tea Party Patriots. “We will continue to focus on the tea party activists in the field. They are responsible for the success of the tea party movement. Donations to Hillary Unethical

As American banks go hat in hand to foreign financial institutions and governments, begging for capital to help them get out of the mess into which their subprime loans have landed them, the question arises as to whether the United States should permit nations like China, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.) and the banks they control to acquire part ownership of our leading banks.


The presidential candidates discussed this issue in their Nevada debate and Hillary was asked about it in an interview with Neil Cavuto on the Fox Business Network yesterday. She replied that she would not “stand in the way” of such investments, but said that they needed to be vetted and called for more disclosure and “transparency.”


The fact is that Hillary Clinton is totally unable to be objective on this key question of our national financial sovereignty because she and her husband have been so compromised by their financial dealings with the very countries at issue in the decision.


Should the Saudi monarchy be permitted to purchase an important equity position in some of America’s leading banks? How can Hillary be objective when the very same monarchy donated $10 million to the Clinton Library and Foundation?


Should the U.A.E. be allowed in? How can Hillary decide fairly when Bill — and therefore herself — have been getting a reported $10 million per year from a fund that administers the investments of the Emir of Dubai, the largest component state in the U.A.E.?


The Dubai Ports deal compromised our national security by putting key points of entry in that nation’s control. But the infusion of capital and the acquisition of equity in our key banks has the potential to make that encroachment on our sovereignty seem piddling by comparison.


Neither Dubai nor Saudi Arabia would be permitted to contribute to Hillary’s campaign.


Foreigners are not allowed to do so, precisely to avoid having potential office holders compromised by gratitude for their financial support. But these nations have used the porous ethics of the Clinton family to acquire positions of massive influence by making contributions, not to her campaign, but to her personal bank account — either through Bill or through the Library and Foundation, which the Clintons directly control.


The extent of the influence their millions must buy with a family only recently, according to Hillary, in the “middle class” must be huge. And it is for exactly this kind of situation that the Clintons should be required to divulge the extent of their involvement with foreign interests and exactly how much money their personal bank accounts and their Library/Foundation have received. (The Saudi donation to the Library and Foundation was only discovered by The New York Times when the information was inadvertently posted on the Library’s Web site. Soon after the story appeared, it was taken down. The Clintons refuse to reveal the donors to the Library or the related Foundation.)


Hillary and Bill have also refused to release their income tax returns, despite the fact that Bill willingly released his when he was running for president.


Why hasn’t Barack Obama or John Edwards even mentioned this issue? Their attacks on Hillary’s links to lobbyists and other special interests are usually painted with a broad brush. But the journey of America’s banks abroad in search of a bailout makes this specific conflict a key question of policy and highly relevant to their campaigns.


What better illustration could one have of Hillary’s conflicts of interest than this one?
