BAGHDAD — Five senior Islamic State officials have been captured, including a top aide to the group’s leader, in a complex cross-border sting carried out by Iraqi and American intelligence, two Iraqi officials said Wednesday.

The three-month operation, which tracked a group of senior Islamic State leaders who had been hiding in Syria and Turkey, represents a significant intelligence victory for the American-led coalition fighting the extremist group and underscores the strengthening relationship between Washington and Baghdad.

ISIS in Iraq is defeated

In an address yesterday, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi formally announced that the more than three-year fight against the barbaric terror group is over after the country’s security forces drove the extremists from all of the territory they once held.

ISIS in Iraq is defeated.

Say what you will about this president, but his leadership on the ISIS front has been magnificent. The world’s most dastardly terrorist group has been largely destroyed under Trump’s leadership — and that’s no small feat.

The president let our military members — the best in the world — do what they do best. That is to destroy the enemy. And they did just that.

Trump empowered the generals on the front line to do what had to be done.

And they did.

ISIS knifemen forced elderly priest, 84, to kneel at altar before they slit his throat on camera after invading Mass

If we elect Hillary and all her cohorts, this is all we'll have here in the United States -- WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!!!

BRUTAL PRIEST KILLING IS LATEST IN SPATE OF DEADLY ATTACKS ACROSS EUROPE IN THE LAST YEAR

Today's attack is the latest to hit Europe in what has been a year of bloodshed on the continent:

July 24: Festival suicide bombing - A failed Syrian asylum seeker set off an explosive device near an open-air music festival in the southern city of Ansbach that killed himself and wounded a dozen others.

The 27-year-old had spent time in a psychiatric facility, while the regional authorities said an there was 'likely' a jihadist motive for the attack.

However a spokesman for the interior ministry later said there was as yet 'no credible evidence' of a link to Islamic extremism.

July 24: Knife attack - A Syrian refugee was arrested after killing a Polish woman with a large kebab knife at a snack bar in the southwestern city of Reutlingen, in an incident police said did not bear the hallmarks of a 'terrorist attack' and was more likely a crime of passion.

Three people were also injured in the assault, which ended when the 21-year-old assailant was deliberately struck by a BMW driver, believed to be the snack bar owner's son, trying to stop the man.

July 22: Munich mall mass shooting - David Ali Sonboly, 18, shot dead nine people at a Munich shopping mall before turning the gun on himself, having spent a year planning the rampage.

Police said that the German-Iranian was 'obsessed' with mass killers like Norwegian right-wing fanatic Anders Behring Breivik and had no links to the Islamic State group.

July 18: Train axe attack - A 17-year-old migrant wielding an axe and a knife went on a rampage on a regional train, seriously injuring four members of a tourist family from Hong Kong and a German passer-by.

ISIS group subsequently released a video purportedly featuring the assailant, named by media as Riaz Khan Ahmadzai, announcing he would carry out an 'operation' in Germany, and presenting himself as a 'soldier of the caliphate'.

He is believed to have been Afghan or Pakistani.

July 14: Tunisian Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel ploughed a truck into a crowd of people celebrating Bastille Day in the French Riviera city of Nice, killing 84 people and injuring over 300.

The Nice attack was the third major strike on France in 18 months and was claimed by ISIS.

June 14: A Frenchman of Moroccan origin stabs a police commander to death outside his home in a Paris suburb and kills his partner, who also worked for the police. The attacker told police negotiators during a siege that he was answering an appeal by Islamic State.

March 22: Suicide attacks claimed by ISIS kill 32 people and wound more than 300 at the Brussels airport and Maelbeek metro station, near European Union offices. They appear to have been carried out by members of the same cell that committed attacks in Paris four months earlier.

November 13, 2015: Coordinated suicide attacks in Paris kill 130 people and wound more than 350 at the Bataclan concert hall, cafes and the national stadium. ISIS claims responsibility for the attacks.

Experts say while ISIS has vowed to infiltrate the refugees, there could be an even more pressing threat from the Syrians already here.

The United States has let in so many people from Syria since 2012 that counterterrorism specialists probably have no way to keep track of them all.

That report from Fox News comes during the debate over whether U.S. officials will be able to vet and properly track the 10,000 Syrian refugees President Obama has vowed to take in as civil war and ISIS savagery have caused them to flee.

Fox News reports that experts say while ISIS has vowed to infiltrate the refugees, there could be an even more pressing threat from the Syrians already here.

VIDEO: The Glazov Gang-Russia’s "Holy War" on the Islamic State?

My Summary:

1) There is a “Holy War” in Syria--between Shiites and Sunnis, and between different groups of Sunni Muslims. Putin is backing Shiites and Obama is backing Sunnis. It’s about picking one group of Muslim terrorists over another group of Muslim terrorists.

2) Putin’s target is not ISIS, it’s various Sunni groups in order to keep Assad in power. It’s a face-off between Iran and Saudi Arabia and Turkey.

3) Putin is not really there for Assad, he’s there for Iran (this intervention was planned by a key Iranian figure in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard). Christians will still suffer in varying degrees under the rule of Iran or the Sunnis or ISIS.

4) ISIS is not the main target: Russia is aiming at Sunni targets and Turkey is aiming at Kurds and there are ISIS casualties as a by-product.

5) “Obama got into this to support a Muslim Brotherhood take-over of Syria. They had a major presence in the Sunni opposition originally. Since then, they’ve been displaced, to some extent, by groups aligned with Al-Qaeda.”

6) The Muslim Brotherhood were able to take over Egypt and Tunisia without an armed conflict, but had an extended armed conflict in Libya. In Syria here’s been an extended religious civil war between the Shiites and the Sunnis (originally headed by the the Muslim Brotherhood which Obama wanted to back militarily, but who is now displaced by Al-Qaeda which he doesn’t want to back). Obama is in the strange position of (a) bombing ISIS but (b) cannot alienate Assad because of his deal with Iran and (c) he cannot alienate the Muslim Brotherhood.

7) “The truth is there is no such thing as the ‘moderate’ Muslim terrorist. They’re all bad guys and we shouldn’t be supporting any of them.”

8) Article “How Putin Is Winning And Losing Syria” by Daniel Greenfield
“The more chaos Russia creates in the Middle East, the more Muslims flood into Europe, the shakier the European Union becomes. If Putin achieves nothing else in Syria, he can keep the flow of Muslim migrants going long enough to bring down the rest of Europe. And if Europe is in bad enough shape, his Eurasian Union becomes more viable.”
9) “Russia is there for Iran, it’s there to protect Iran’s interests, and that puts it in a direct collision course with Israel.”

10) (a) “We should focus on taking in Christian refugees rather than Muslim refugees…” and (b) “look for ways to stabilize Christian areas…” and (c) “I really wouldn’t recommend making particular deals with terrorist groups because that’s going to backfire.”

What to do and to don’t in response to the Paris attacks

By Dr. Kimberly Kagan and Dr. Frederick W. KaganThis article is co-authored with AEI's Critical Threats Project.

ISW: INSTITUTE FOR THE STUDY OF WAR
The French police and security forces are among the most competent and determined in the world. They have been on alert for precisely this kind of attack since the Charlie Hebdo murders and the attack on the kosher supermarket. They generally have fewer restrictions on their abilities to collect information within their own country than do their American counterparts. If ISIS can beat the French in Paris, they can beat us here.

ISIS Mass Beheading Video Took 6 Hours to Film and Multiple Takes

And just think, it was only several years ago that Christopher Hitchens was bashing Mother Teresa...
The Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria’s (ISIS) video of the beheading of 22 Syrian soldiers took between four and six hours to film and used equipment that cost around $200,000, a new analysis has shown.

Drug-crazed ISIS savages rape, slaughter and behead children

“We stayed as long as we could, hoping for help, but little came. Last week my neighbour, a university professor, asked me to help bury his sister, two brothers and son.

“He was distraught as they had been beheaded and pleaded with me to help find their heads so they could be buried whole.

“We searched as best we could but were told IS had taken them as trophies.

According to the former Prime Minister of Lebanon, Saad Hariri, the United States runs ISIS operations in Iraq out of its embassy in Ankara, Turkey. The plan to carve up Iraq and spark a regional war in the Middle East was masterminded by the Atlantic Council, according to Hariri.

A source close to Hariri said the finishing touches were put on the balkanization plan during a George Soros funded Atlantic Council energy summit held in Istanbul last November.

“We view the current period as a turning point, just like 1918 and 1945.
