Sons and Daughters of Pearl Harbor group aims to keep memories alive

It's known as the date "which will live in infamy."

That's how President Franklin Roosevelt referred to Dec. 7, 1941, after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, in which more than 2,400 Americans were killed. The surprise attack brought the United States into World War II.

In 1994, the United States Congress named Dec. 7 as National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. Pearl Harbor Day honors veterans of the attack, those who died, and their families, and marks the battle's historical significance.

The first freedom in the days of the American Revolution was freedom from British rule. The first freedom in 1941 was freedom from Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan. The first freedom during the Cold War was freedom from Communism. The first freedom in our own time is freedom from Islam.

So you think Obama's like FDR, huh? (Well, at least Obama thinks he is...)

FDR's great speech (and we would never hear this from Obama):

Yesterday, December 7, 1941 - a date which will live in infamy - the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.
Yesterday the Japanese Government also launched an attack against Malaya.
Last night Japanese forces attacked Hong Kong.
Last night Japanese forces attacked Guam.
Last night Japanese forces attacked the Philippine Islands.
Last night the Japanese attacked Wake Island.
And this morning the Japanese attacked Midway Island.

Hostilities exist. There is no blinking at the fact that our people, our territory and our interests are in grave danger.

With confidence in our armed forces, with the unbounding determination of our people, we will gain the inevitable triumph. So help us God.

I ask that the Congress declare that since the unprovoked and dastardly attack by Japan on Sunday, December 7, 1941, a state of war has existed between the United States and the Japanese Empire.

I will not rest until the alleged perpetrators of these alleged crimes are brought to justice. I am directing Attorney General Eric Holder to issue subpeanas and arrest warrants so the alleged perpetrators can be brought to justice. We will mirandize the alleged perpetrators and provide lawyers so they can be tried in open court.

We have no evidence that these attacks are acts of terrorism and we should not jump to conclusions until all the facts have been gathered.

However, the evidence does suggest that U.S. intelligence agencies knew that the Empire of Japan was targeting the U.S., but "failed to connect those dots".

It is also clear that the oil and trade embargo instituted against Japan by the previous administration was a primary motivation…the attack was a result of our flawed foreign policy. I ask that Congress hold hearings so we can get to the bottom of this.
