Did you know...

...that Democrats voted [5/28/10] in favor of a 1.4 percent pay raise for civilian federal employees proposed by the Obama administration?

But...
The pay and benefits for the public worker is a $1.45 compared to a dollar in the private sector. So there’s a 45% premium there… If you cut the pay and made it equal, the benefits and the pay with private sector workers, it would save about $340 billion. That’s enough to fill the budget holes in every state over the next two years, if we were just on the same playing field.

So, either the Democrats are total idiots for not knowing this OR they have a different agenda that has nothing to do with being good stewards of our nation's resources...

Government workers, especially at the federal level, make salaries that are scandalously higher than those paid to private sector workers

With the federal deficit and national debt heading into the stratosphere, taxpayers can no longer afford to support such lucrative government compensation. Public sector pay and benefits at all levels should be reduced to make it comparable to the wages and benefits earned by the average working taxpayer. The first politician to propose a five-year plan for this purpose is likely to be cheered mightily by taxpayers.!

The number of federal workers earning six-figure salaries has exploded during the recession, according to a USA TODAY analysis of federal salary data

USA TODAY analyzed the Office of Personnel Management's database that tracks salaries of more than 2 million federal workers. Excluded from OPM's data: the White House, Congress, the Postal Service, intelligence agencies and uniformed military personnel.

The growth in six-figure salaries has pushed the average federal worker's pay to $71,206, compared with $40,331 in the private sector.
