Cruise ships: disgusting and revolting

We've had friends try to convince us that cruise ships are wonderful, but we just keep running into these kinds of stories (more and more in the last several years).

Sorry, but it only takes one story of vomit (and there are plenty) to make me wonder just how well anyone cleans up the nooks and crannies in a cruise ship. I mean, there are police cars that always stink after one drunk vomits in them and they can never get rid of that smell!

You have to be old, but does anyone remember the Saturday Night Live skit about the cleaning people putting the nice paper wrappers on each and every toilet seat in a hotel/motel?

"_____" like an American

Well, after watching this ad for Norwegian Cruise Line, I'm feeling a little left out!

I mean, I thought that at LEAST we'd get a thumbs up for the shopping--you remember when Michelle went to Spain--but NO! Nada. Zip. Zilch.

People must've thought we'd get SOME creds with Obama as prez because they were fainting and everything.

Jeez!

What the hell good is he anyway???

Passengers Fought Pirates with Tables and Deck Chairs

When pirates attacked the cruise ship MSC Melody on Saturday, the captain was making small talk at the bar. Passengers have given a version of events that is more dramatic than the crew's accounts. They were the first to defend the ship and they are now criticizing the crew, who have been portrayed as heroes.

A HELL of a trip

These top four headlines in the center of The Drudge Report today just have to make you wonder why you should ever spend your hard-earned money on traveling (not to mention all the OTHER reports about stranded passengers and lost luggage). And hey: What about all the filthy sicko cruise ships out there where people either get sick, fall overboard, or DIE?

Passengers Spend 5 Hours On Plane At LaGuardia

My first lesson was in an early episode of Saturday Night Live in the 1970's: Just because someone puts a white paper strip of approval around the toilet seat does not necessarily mean a damn thing folks!

My second lesson came when a boyfriend thought a trip to Tijuana would be a nice Valentine's Day gift -- NOT. He hadn't planned on spending any money on a hotel or motel (not him) but did take a look at one when he felt too tired for the long drive home. The pube on the sheet gave him enough energy for the drive.

Think of just how clean your house actually is after living in it for 20 years. That's how clean all those tiny little hotel rooms are. The cruise ships have to recycle your air and water somehow--yuck.

I'm stayin' home and saving my money for a trip to Wyoming.
