Illegal aliens take jobs from honest citizens and drive down wages. Up front the cost of goods and services are lowered, a bit, but when you consider that each illegal alien child cost the taxpayers of California $10,000 or more per year to educate, it costs honest citizens several billion a year to save a dime on a head of lettuce.
