We could go on and on refuting fact after fact, but the facts are unimportant. The leftist is creating a narrative. As a marketing guru will tell you, Facts tell, but stories sell. It’s a lesson the leftist has learned well.READ MORE
Even more disturbing, in recent years, this method of “argumentation” has increasingly become the first tool pulled out of the toolbox. No longer does the leftist feel as compelled to make real arguments. All he needs to do now is shout “Racist!” or “War on Women!” and his job is done. He walks away feeling smugly satisfied of his own politically correct superiority, and the untrained observer is left addled at best, and possibly even swayed by the narrative.
So why they are so vicious? Why do people who self-describe as “compassionate” direct such vitriolic hate and assaults at their ideological opponents? How they can justify painting you as such a monster?
Simple: To them, you are a monster. You must be.

Defending Israel and Fighting Anti-Semitism - My Ariel Avrech Memorial Lecture
Posted by Daniel Greenfield
Robert and Karen are incredible people who have managed to transmute their loss into a search for meaning. And it was a great responsibility to be part of that and to follow speakers like David Horowitz and Larry Elder who have delivered the lecture in the past. It was also a pleasure to meet up with fellow bloggers from Bookworm Room and Rob from Joshuapundit, as well as having colleague Mark Tapson and Kyle Kyllan, producer of The Enemies Within. And thank you also to those who came from as far away as Marin County and Orange County. I was happy to meet everyone and privileged to be able to participate in this event.
The following is the text of my remarks. You can see the video above. My speech begin after opening remarks by Robert, Karen and a friend of Ariel's who shared some beautiful memories of him with us.

ACCORDING TO ANDREW
WILKOW, here are a few things you should know:
1. In 2016, Natalia Veselnitskaya entered the US with an override on her rejection of a visa from the State Department under an order from then attorney general, Loretta Lynch.
2.
Natalia Veselnitskaya’s law firm lists as one of its clients, Sberbank.
It is one of the biggest banks in Russia, and it answers directly to
Putin.
3. The
international lobbying firm for Sberbank is the Podesta Group. John
Podesta was Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman.
4. Bill
Clinton received a $500,000 speaking fee from a Sberbank shortly after Sec of
State Clinton saw to it that the Russians were awarded a huge deal that gives
the country ownership of one-fifth of U.S. uranium deposits.
5. Loretta
Lynch allowed Natalia Veselnitskaya to remain in the US without a visa.
6. Andrew
asks, “If Donald Trump had direct connections to Putin, do you think if Putin
was trying to get Trump elected he would let some low-level lawyer with an
association to Bill Clinton get close to Donald Trump and not tell him?” Of
course not.
7. If
Trump had deep ties to Putin, someone would have tipped off Trump
that Natalia Veselnitskaya was trying to get into the inner circle.
But that didn’t happen — Don Jr. had no idea who she was.
8. Based
off these bullet points, Andrew lays out an incredible argument that the
Russian lawyer meeting was set up and managed by Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.
He ties everything back to the mysterious tarmac meeting between Lynch
and Clinton in summer 2016. It’s truly amazing.

Conservative comedian Evan Sayet explains why, during wartime, things like “dignity” and “collegiality” simply aren’t the most essential qualities one looks for!
Evan Sayet is the author of The KinderGarden of Eden: How The Modern Liberal Thinks. His lecture to the Heritage Foundation on this same topic remains, some ten years later, by far the single most viewed lecture in their history.
My Leftist friends (as well as many ardent #NeverTrumpers) constantly ask me if I’m not bothered by Donald Trump’s lack of decorum. They ask if I don’t think his tweets are “beneath the dignity of the office.” Here’s my answer:READ MORE
We Right-thinking people have tried dignity. There could not have been a man of more quiet dignity than George W. Bush as he suffered the outrageous lies and politically motivated hatreds that undermined his presidency. We tried statesmanship. Could there be another human being on this earth who so desperately prized “collegiality” as John McCain? We tried propriety – has there been a nicer human being ever than Mitt Romney? And the results were always the same.
This is because, while we were playing by the rules of dignity, collegiality and propriety, the Left has been, for the past 60 years, engaged in a knife fight where the only rules are those of Saul Alinsky and the Chicago mob.
Kremlin-crazed Trumpophobes snored as Hillary and Bill made Russia great again
NATIOONAL REVIEW:
The Democrats and old-guard news media (forgive the redundancy) are pathologically obsessed with the hypothesis that Team Trump and Russia rigged last November’s presidential election. If Donald J. Trump so much as played Tchaikovsky’s Marche Slav on his stereo, these leftists deduce, he was in cahoots with the Kremlin.READ MORE
Meanwhile, the same folks who spy a KGB agent behind every filing cabinet in Trump’s White House are aggressively apathetic about Hillary and Bill Clinton’s policies, decisions, and actions that gave aid and comfort to Russia.

How Olivia de Havilland and Ronald Reagan saved Hollywood--and America--from Communism
On Olivia de Havilland’s 101st birthday [July 1, 1916], she should be remembered for being the first Hollywood liberal to publicly expose and to call for an end to the alliance with Communists and fellow-travelers. She asked Hollywood actors to choose between being advocates for liberal democracy, and giving support to the Soviet Union’s line during the start of what became the Cold War. That effort deserves to be celebrated, and de Havilland praised for her courage and the integrity of her action.READ MORE
10 biblical truths about animals
Please read all ten...but this one (#9) was particularly (and deeply) moving for me:
9. Animals teach us about the nature of justiceREAD MORE
In Robert Bolt’s play, A Man for All Seasons, Sir Thomas More delivers a brilliant summation of God’s purpose for creating the angels, animals, plants, and humanity. Regarding animals, he observes God created them “for their innocence.” It is difficult to find a better description of animals than this. Animals appear to lack the capacity for moral reflection. They simply do what they do. Scripture supports this understanding. It was humans who ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, not animals (Gen. 3:1-7).
This observation of animal innocence is not only important for our understanding of animals. It also helps us understand our sense of justice. When we ask why we are offended by cruelty to animals, we recognize we are reacting to an innate sense within us that is repulsed by wanton violations of their innocence and vulnerability. This recognition helps us understand some of our motivations for our criminal justice system. When we punish acts of aggression against our fellow humans, we are responding to violations of their innocence and vulnerability. Such violations should be punished. Our sense of justice demands it.
Furthermore, we learn about divine justice from animals. Israel’s biblically mandated practice of substitutionary atonement provides this lesson. Scripture teaches that rebellion against God is sin. God’s holiness demands a penalty in response to this rebellion. In other words, God requires justice. Either the guilty person or an acceptable substitute must answer for human sin. God created the sacrificial system in Israel to help his people understand this reality. He commanded that this system regularly kill innocent animals in order to satisfy the demands of his divine justice (Lev. 16:1-34). The innocent animals would bear the sin of the people. This bloody display served as a symbol for what was yet to come—when the innocent Son of God would offer himself as the true, eternal, substitutionary sacrifice for the sin of all humanity (Rom. 3:21-26; 2 Cor. 5:21; Heb. 10:1-18).
